x Never let anyone sit on the rear seats when the wind blocker is installed.

Unsecured or improperly secured objects can cause severe injuries during sudden braking maneuvers or if the vehicle is involved in an accident while driving.
x Never place unsecured objects underneath the wind blocker.
x Never use the wind blocker as a storage shelf. Items on the wind blocker can be thrown around inside the vehicle by the wind and cause injuries.
x Never use the wind blocker to secure objects.
WARNING
Always make sure that hands, fingers, and other parts of the body are out of the way when moving the wind blocker up or down, or when folding it together.
x Never fold the wind blocker upward while driving.
NOTICE
x Always store the wind blocker in its storage compartment when not in use.
x Do not store any other objects in the wind blocker storage compartment.

Installing and removing the wind blocker

The wind blocker, if equipped, is in a storage compartment in the vehicle's luggage compartment.
You can close the convertible top even when the wind blocker is installed.
Unfolding the wind blocker
Folding the wind blocker outward before installing it is the easiest way to get it into the correct position for installation.
x Remove the wind blocker from the luggage compartment, Removing the wind blocker from the luggage compartment and storing.
x Fold both side sections outward in the direction of the arrows ⇒ fig. 36 until they lock into place.
Installing the wind blocker
The wind blocker is installed correctly when the longer side faces toward the front and the wind blocker frame is on top.
x Insert both pins on the driver side of the wind blocker into the holes in the side trim panel above the
rear seats ⇒ fig. 37 A (1) (magnified area).
x Fold the handle B (4) at the front center of the wind blocker upward in the direction of the arrow and hold it in place.
x Pull the section of the wind blocker that is facing the front passenger side upward slightly.

x Insert both pins on the wind blocker on the front passenger side into the holes in the side trim panel above the rear seats B (2) (magnified area).
x Press down lightly on the center of the wind blocker B (3) until it locks into place.
x Pull the top section of the wind blocker upward so it contacts the stops and snaps into place.
Removing the wind blocker
x Fold the upper section of the wind blocker down toward the rear of the vehicle.
x Fold the handle B (4) at the front center of the wind blocker upward in the direction of the arrow and hold it in place.
x Pull the center of the wind blocker upward opposite the direction of the arrow B (3).
x Remove both wind blocker retaining pins on the front passenger side from the holes in the side trim panel opposite the direction of the arrows B (2).
x Remove both wind blocker retaining pins on the driver side from the holes in the side trim panel opposite the direction of the arrows A (1).
Closing the wind blocker
x Fold the handle B (4) at the front center of the wind blocker upward in the direction of the arrow and hold it in place.
x Fold both side sections inward opposite the direction of the arrow ⇒ fig. 36.
x Store the wind blocker in the luggage compartment, Removing the wind blocker from the luggage compartment and storing.

x When moving a front seat forward or back, make sure the backrest does not press against the wind blocker. This can damage the wind blocker, especially its locking mechanism.
x Always store the wind blocker in its storage compartment when not in use.
x Never put objects (luggage, grocery bags, etc.) on top of the wind blocker.
Installing and removing the convertible top cover (boot)

Your vehicle may be equipped with a convertible top cover (boot) that fits over the convertible top when it is down.
Installing the convertible top cover
x Remove the convertible top cover from the luggage compartment.
x Unfold the convertible top cover and lay it over the open top.
x Snap the clips on either side of the convertible top cover ⇒ fig. 38 A (1) into place on the rear side of the trim panels above the rear seats.
x Insert each interior side of the convertible top cover A (arrows), behind the trim panels.
x Insert the front area of the convertible top cover A (2) behind the Automatic Rollover Support System.
x Pull the cover over the convertible top.
x Insert the rear area of the convertible top cover B (3) next to the seal above the luggage compartment lid until the edge of the convertible top cover is completely tucked under the seal and the seam is no longer visible.
x Press the left and right sides of the cover into the retainer completely B (4).

Treating stains
When treating stains, it may be necessary to clean the entire surface and not just the stain itself. This is especially true if the entire surface has become dirty from normal use. Otherwise, the area that is treated may become lighter than the untreated area. If you have questions or concerns, consult a professional cleaner.

Type of stain Recommended cleaning for fabric and upholstery
Water-based stains, such as coffee or fruit juice. – Moisten a sponge with water and rub the stain gently with a circular motion. – Wipe dry with an absorbent cloth.
Persistent stains, such as chocolate or make-up. – Use only Volkswagen-approved cleaning products. – If necessary, have the fabric or upholstery professionally cleaned.
Grease-based stains, such as oil, lipstick, etc. – Use only Volkswagen-approved cleaning products. – If necessary, have the fabric or upholstery professionally cleaned.
WARNING
If there is a malfunction in the airbag system, the airbag may not deploy correctly or at all, or it may deploy unexpectedly. This could cause fatal injuries.
x Have the airbag system inspected immediately by your authorized Volkswagen dealer or authorized Volkswagen Service Facility.
NOTICE
If the upholstery on power seats, heated seats, or seats with airbag components is wet, electrical components and the vehicle electrical system could be damaged.
x If the seating surface becomes soaked, have it dried and the system components checked immediately by an authorized Volkswagen dealer or authorized Volkswagen Service Facility.
x Do not use steam cleaners because the steam could cause the dirt to penetrate deeper into the fabric and make it impossible to remove.
x Power washers and cooling sprays can damage the upholstery.
NOTICE
x Clean only the carpet and floor mats with brushes. Other textile surfaces can be damaged by brushes.
x If detergent pastes or mild detergent solutions are applied with a damp cloth or sponge, the surfactants in the detergent may cause visible lines to form at the edges of the area where the detergent was applied. These lines are generally difficult or impossible to remove.
NOTICE
x Do not soak Alcantara®.
x Do not treat Alcantara® with leather care products, solvents, floor wax, shoe polish, stain remover or similar products.
x Do not use brushes for damp cleaning, because they can damage upholstery surfaces.
x Do not use a steam cleaner, because dirt will penetrate deeper into the fabric.
