Before operating the spoiler, ensure that no one is in the proximity
of the moving parts to avoid any risk of injury.
Nevertheless, in the event of pinching, you must reverse the
movement of the spoiler. To do this, release the control button
then press it again to raise the spoiler.
MAINTENANCE
To maintain the spoiler, with the vehicle stationary, ignition on:
 raise the spoiler to the maximum position B by pressing the
button briefl y,
 once the cleaning is complete, retract the spoiler: press and hold the button until the end of the manoeuvre.
The keep this system in good working order, check the spoiler and its
housing periodically preventing the unwanted accumulation of leaves,
ice or snow.
OPERATING FAULT
If the control system fails, the indicator lamp in the control button
fl ashes, accompanied by an audible signal and a message in the
screen. As a safety precaution, the spoiler rises to the maximum
position, regardless of the speed of the vehicle.
If the problem persists and you wish to retract the spoiler:
 stop where it is safe to do so,
 switch off the ignition,
 switch the ignition on again.
If the indicator lamp no longer fl ashes, the failure was temporary, the
system has resumed normal operation. To retract the spoiler, refer to
the paragraph "To exit from manual mode".
If the indicator lamp fl ashes again and the spoiler is still raised, the
system is still faulty.
Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualifi ed workshop.
In the event of a system operating fault (e.g. jamming of the spoiler)\
, the
indicator lamp in the control button fl ashes, accompanied by an audible
signal and a message in the screen. For safety reasons, do not exceed
a speed of 85 mph (140 km/h).
Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualifi ed workshop.
Before washing the vehicle, always retract the spoiler into its
housing.
Keep the end of the high-pressure nozzle at least 1 metre from the
spoiler housing. Never press on the spoiler to close the boot or push the vehicle as
this may damage it.
The installation of load-carrying accessories on the vehicle limits
the effectiveness of the spoiler.
Do not install load carrying accessories which are not
recommended by PEUGEOT.
To exit from manual mode:
 press the button briefl y: the indicator lamp on the button goes off
(return to automatic mode).
At speeds below 6 mph (10 km/h), the spoiler stays in the open
position. It retracts automatically as soon as the vehicle exceeds
this speed threshold.

It is only possible to change from one gear to another if the vehicle
speed and engine speed permit; otherwise, the gearbox will operate
temporarily in automatic mode. M and the gears engaged manually appear in succession in
the instrument panel.
If the engine speed is too low or too high, the gear selected
fl ashes for a few seconds, then the actual gear engaged is
displayed.
It is possible to change from position D (automatic) to position M
(manual) at any time.
When the vehicle is stationary or moving very slowly, the gearbox
selects gear M1 automatically.
The sport and snow programmes do not operate in manual mode.
Invalid value during manual operation
This symbol is displayed if a gear is not engaged correctly
(selector between two positions).
STOPPING THE VEHICLE
Before switching off the engine, you can engage position P or N to
place the gearbox in neutral.
In both cases, apply the parking brake to immobilise the vehicle. If the lever is not in position
P , when the driver's door is opened or
approximately 45 seconds after the ignition is switched off, there is
an audible signal is heard accompanied by a message.
 Return the lever to position P ; the audible signal stops and the
message disappears.
OPERATING FAULT
When the ignition is on, the illumination of this warning lamp,
accompanied by an audible signal and a message in the
screen, indicates a gearbox malfunction.
In this case, the gearbox switches to emergency mode and is locked in
3rd gear. You may feel a substantial knock when changing from P to R
and from N to R . This will not cause any damage to the gearbox.
Do not exceed a speed of 60 mph (100 km/h), local speed restrictions
permitting.
Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualifi ed workshop.
This warning lamp may also come on if a door is opened.
There is a risk of damage to the gearbox:
- if you press the accelerator and brake pedals at the same time,
- if you force the lever from position P to another position when
the battery is fl at.
To reduce fuel consumption during a long period stationary with
the engine running (traffi c jam, etc.), place the gear lever in
position N and apply the parking brake.

DRIVING
GEAR EFFICIENCY INDICATOR
System which reduces fuel consumption by recommending the most
appropriate gear.
OPERATION
Depending on the driving situation and your vehicle's equipment, the
system may advise you to skip one (or more) gear(s). You can follow
this instruction without engaging the intermediate gears.
The gear engagement recommendations must not be considered
compulsory. In fact, the confi guration of the road, the amount of traffi c
and safety remain determining factors when choosing the best gear.
Therefore, the driver remains responsible for deciding whether or not
to follow the advice given by the system.
This function cannot be deactivated. The system adapts its gear change recommendation according
to the driving conditions (slope, load, ...) and the demands of the
driver (power, acceleration, braking, ...).
The system never suggests:
- engaging fi rst gear,
- engaging reverse gear,
The information appears in the instrument panel in the form of an arrow. Example:
- You are in third gear.
- You press the accelerator pedal.
- The system may suggest that you engage a higher gear.
With an automatic gearbox, the system is only active in manual mode.
On vehicle fi tted with a manual gearbox, the arrow may be
accompanied by the gear recommended.

DRIVING
CRUISE CONTROL
System which automatically maintains the speed of the vehicle at the
value programmed by the driver, without any action on the accelerator
pedal.
The cruise control is switched off manually or by pressing the brake or
clutch pedal or on triggering of the trajectory control system for safet\
y
reasons.
Switching off the ignition cancels any programmed speed value.
STEERING MOUNTED CONTROL
The functions of this system are grouped together on the steering
mounted control.
1. Cruise control mode selection dial.
2. Speed programming / value decrease button.
3. Speed programming / value increase button.
4. Cruise control off / resume button.
The cruise control cannot, in any circumstances, replace the need
to respect speed limits, nor can it replace the need for vigilance
and responsibility on the part of the driver.
You are advised to keep your feet near the pedals at all times.
The cruise control is
switched on manually: it requires a minimum
vehicle speed of 25 mph (40 km/h) and the engaging:
- of fourth gear on the manual gearbox,
- of second gear on the automatic gearbox, in sequential driving mode,
- of position D on the automatic gearbox.
It is possible to exceed the programmed speed temporarily by pressing
the accelerator pedal.
To return to the programmed speed, simply release the accelerator
pedal.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION
ENERGY ECONOMY MODE
System which manages the duration of use of certain functions to
conserve a suffi cient level of charge in the battery.
After the engine has stopped, you can still use functions such as
the audio and telematic system, windscreen wipers, dipped beam
headlamps, courtesy lamp, etc. for a maximum combined duration of
thirty minutes.
This period may be greatly reduced if the battery is not fully charged. \
SWITCHING TO ECONOMY MODE
Once this time has elapsed, a message appears in the screen indicating
that the vehicle has switched to economy mode and the active functions
are put on standby. If the telephone is being used at this time:
- it will be maintained for 5 minutes with the Bluetooth system of your PEUGEOT Connect Sound (RD5),
- it will still be possible to fi nish the call with the PEUGEOT
Connect Navigation (RT6) or PEUGEOT Connect Media
(NG4 3D).
EXITING ECONOMY MODE
These functions are reactivated automatically next time the vehicle is
driven.
To restore operation of these functions immediately, start the engine
and let it run for at least 5 minutes.
Let the engine run for the period specifi ed to ensure that the battery
charge is suffi cient.
Do not repeatedly and continuously restart the engine in order to charge\

the battery.
A fl at battery prevents the engine from starting (refer to the
"Battery" section).
LOAD REDUCTION MODE
System which manages the use of certain functions according to the
level of charge remaining in the battery.
When the vehicle is being driven, the load reduction function temporarily
deactivates certain functions, such as the air conditioning, the heated \
rear screen...
The deactivated functions are reactivated automatically as soon as
conditions permit.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION
DISCONNECTING / RECONNECTING THE
CABLES
To avoid discharging the battery, do not leave the vehicle lighting
on repeatedly with the ignition off (refer to the "Energy economy
mode" paragraph).
It is advisable to disconnect the battery if the vehicle is to be left
unused for more than one month.
Do not disconnect the terminals while the engine is running.
Do not charge the batteries without disconnecting the terminals fi rst.
Before disconnecting the battery
Wait 2 minutes after switching off the ignition before disconnecting
the battery.
Retract the active spoiler then close the windows and the doors
before disconnecting the battery.
Following reconnection of the battery
Following reconnection of the battery, switch on the ignition
and wait 1 minute before starting to permit initialisation of the
electronic systems. However, if slight problems remain following
this operation, contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualifi ed
workshop.
Referring to the corresponding section, you must yourself
reinitialise:
- the remote control key,
- the electric windows and the automatic partial opening of the door windows,
- the GPS satellite navigation system.
 Raise the locking tab
D fully.
 Position the open clip E of the cable on the positive terminal (+)
of the battery.
 Press vertically on the clip E to position it correctly against the
battery.
 Lock the clip by lowering the tab D .
CHARGING THE BATTERY USING A BATTERY
CHARGER
 Disconnect the battery from the vehicle.

Follow the instructions for use provided by the manufacturer of the char\
ger.
 Reconnect starting with the negative terminal (-).
 Check that the terminals and connectors are clean. If they are
covered with sulphate (whitish or greenish deposit), remove them
and clean them.
Do not force the tab as locking will not be possible if the clip is not \
positioned correctly.
Start the procedure again. Some functions are not available if the battery is not suffi ciently
charged.
