STARTING
1. Stop position.

IGNITION SWITCH
Avoid attaching any heavy objects to the
key which would weigh down on its shaft
in the ignition switch; this could cause a
malfunction.
PASSENGER SAFETY
 Selection of the position:
"OFF" (deactivated), with "rearward
facing" child seat,
"ON" (activated), with front passenger or
"forward facing" child seat.
PASSENGER'S FRONT AIRBAG
A. Front and/or rear seat belts not fastened /
unfastened warning lamp.
B. Front left seat belt warning lamp.
C. Front right seat belt warning lamp.
D. Rear right seat belt warning lamp.
E. Rear left seat belt warning lamp.
F. Passenger's front airbag deactivated
warning lamp.
G. Passenger's front airbag activated warning lamp.

Deactivation warning lamps
If one of the following warning lamps comes on, this confi rms that the
corresponding system has been switched off intentionally.
It is accompanied by an audible signal and a message on the screen.
Depending on your version of instrument panel, illumination of the
deactivation lamp is also accompanied by:
- a symbol in the central instrument panel screen and a message in the multifunction screen,
or
- a symbol and a message in the central instrument panel screen.
Warning lamp is on Cause Action / Observations
Passenger's
front airbag fi xed, in the seat
belt and front
passenger's
airbag warning
lamps display. The control switch, located
on the passenger's end of
the dashboard, is set to the
OFF
position.
The passenger's front airbag is
deactivated.
You can install a "rearward
facing" child seat on the front
seat. Before installing a "rearward facing" child seat on the front
seat, it is
essential to deactivate the passenger's front
airbag.
On the other hand, where no "rearward facing" child seat is
present, it is recommended that the airbag be reactivated:
set the control to the ON position.

FRONT AIRBAGS
System which protects the driver and front passenger in the event of
a serious front impact in order to limit the risk of injury to the head \
and
chest.
The driver's airbag is fi tted in the centre of the steering wheel; the front
passenger's airbag is fi tted in the dashboard above the glove box.
Deployment
The airbags are deployed, except the passenger's front airbag if it is
deactivated, in the event of a serious front impact to all or part of th\
e
front impact zone A , in the longitudinal centreline of the vehicle on a
horizontal plane and directed from the front to the rear of the vehicle.\

The front airbag infl ates between the chest and head of the front
occupant of the vehicle and the steering wheel, driver's side, and the
dashboard, passenger's side to cushion their forward movement.
Deactivation
Only the passenger's front airbag can be deactivated:
 with the ignition off , insert the key in the passenger airbag
deactivation switch,
 turn it to the "OFF" position,
 then, remove the key keeping the switch in the new position.
To assure the safety of your child, the passenger's front airbag
must be deactivated when you install a "rearward facing" child
seat on the front passenger seat.
Otherwise, the child would risk being seriously injured or killed if
the airbag were deployed. This warning lamp comes on in the passenger's front airbag
warning lamps display when the ignition is on and until the
airbag is reactivated.

"REARWARD-FACING"
CHILD SEAT IN THE FRONT *
When a "rearward-facing" child seat is installed on the front passenger
seat , adjust the seat to the intermediate longitudinal and highest
position, with the backrest straightened.
The passenger airbag must be deactivated. Otherwise, the child would
risk being seriously injured or killed if the airbag were to infl ate .
"FORWARD-FACING"
When a "forward-facing" child seat is installed on the front passenger
seat , adjust the vehicle's seat to the intermediate longitudinal and
highest position with seat backrest straightened and leave the
passenger's airbag activated.
Ensure that the seat belt is correctly tensioned.
For child seats with a support leg, ensure that the support leg is
in stable contact with the fl oor. If necessary, adjust the passenger
seat.
* Refer to the current legislation in your country before installing a chi\
ld seat on this seat. Passenger seat adjusted to the intermediate longitudinal position.

ADVICE ON CHILD SEATS
Children at the front
The legislation on carrying children on a front passenger seat is
specifi c to each country. Refer to the legislation in force in your
country.
Deactivate the passenger airbag when a "rearward facing" child seat
is installed on the front seat. Otherwise, the child would risk being
seriously injured or killed if the airbag were to infl ate.
The incorrect installation of a child seat in a vehicle compromises
the child's protection in the event of an accident.
When installing a child seat using the seat belt, ensure that the
seat belt is tightened correctly on the child seat and that it secures
the child seat fi rmly on the vehicle's seat.
Remember to fasten the seat belts or the child seat harnesses
keeping the slack in relation to the child's body
to a minimum ,
even for short journeys.
For optimum installation of the "forward facing" child seat, ensure
that the back of the child seat is as close as possible to the
backrest of the vehicle's seat, even in contact if possible.
Installation of a booster seat
The chest part of the seat belt must be positioned on the child's
shoulder without touching the neck.
Ensure that the lap part of the seat belt passes correctly over the
child's thighs.
PEUGEOT recommends the use of a booster seat which has a back,
fi tted with a seat belt guide at shoulder level.
As a safety precaution, do not leave:
- one or more children alone and unsupervised in a vehicle,
- a child or an animal in a vehicle which is exposed to the sun, with the windows closed,
- the keys within reach of children inside the vehicle.
