Warning lamp

Solution - action
Electronic anti-theft on. the ignition key introduced
is not recognised.
Starting impossible. Use another key and have the faulty key
checked by a PEUGEOT dealer. Chapter 1,
"Access".
Emissions control
system flashing or on
continuously. a fault with the system. Have it checked as soon as possible by a
PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
Low fuel level on with the gauge
needle in zone E. that the fuel reserve is
being used. Refuel without delay. The assessment of the
fuel reserve is sensitive to the style of driving,
the profile of the road, the time elapsed and the
distance travelled since the warning lamp first
came on.
Particle emissions filter on, accompanied by
an audible signal and
a message in the
screen. the start of saturation of
the particle emissions
filter. Carry out a regeneration of the filter as soon as
possible. Chapter 7, "Checks".
Presence of water in
the Diesel filter on, accompanied by
a message in the
screen. water in the Diesel fuel
filter. Have the filter bled by a PEUGEOT dealer or a
qualified workshop. Chapter 7, "Checks".
Diesel pre-heating on. that the weather
conditions impose pre-
heating (up to around
30 seconds in extreme
climatic conditions). Wait for the warning lamp to switch off before
operating the starter.
If the engine does not start, switch the ignition
off and on again, wait for the warning lamp to go
off, and start the engine.

FUEL GAUGE

The fuel level is tested each time the key is
turned to the "ignition on" position.
The gauge is positioned on:


- f
(full):
the capacity of the fuel tank is
approximately 45 litres
.

- e
(empty):
the reserve is now being
used, the warning lamp comes on
continuously.
The reserve when the warning first comes
on is approximately 6 litres.

COOLANT TEMPERATURE


The needle is positioned between
c
(cold)
and
h
(hot):
normal operation.
In arduous conditions of use or hot climatic
conditions, the needle may move close to
the red graduations.
- wait approximately 15 minutes to allow
the engine to cool down in order to check
the level and top it up if necessary. The
cooling system is pressurised. In order to
avoid any risk of scalding, unscrew the
cap by two turns to allow the pressure to
drop.
When the pressure has dropped, check the
level and remove the cap to top up.
If the needle remains in the red zone,
contact a PEUGEOT or a qualified
workshop. EMISSION CONTROL

EOBD (European On Board Diagnosis) is a
diagnostics system which meets the exhaust
emissions standards for:


- CO (carbon monoxide),

- HC (unburnt hydrocarbons),

- NOx (nitrous oxides) or particles detected
by oxygen sensors placed upstream and
downstream of the catalytic converters.
Refer to the "Levels" section of chapter 7. Refer to the "Levels" section of
chapter 7.
The driver is warned of any
fault with this emission control
system by flashing of this specific
warning lamp in the instrument
panel.
What you should do if the needle
enters the red zone, or if the warning
lamp comes on:


- stop immediately, switch off the ignition.
The cooling fan may continue to operate
for a certain time up to approximately
10 minutes.

Resetting

To set off again, restore the fuel supply and
the electrical supply manually:


- with the key in the STOP position, turn
the key to the RUNNING position,

- push the direction indicator control stalk
fully upwards,

- place it in the "Off" position,

- press the direction indicator control stalk
fully downwards,

- return it to the "Off" position,

- push it fully upwards again,

- return it to the "Off" position,

- press it fully downwards again,

- return it to the "Off" position,

- turn the key to the STOP position.












Quality of the fuel used for petrol
engines

The petrol engines are perfectly compatible
with E10 type petrol biofuels (containing
10% ethanol), conforming to European
standards EN 228 and EN 15376.
E85 type fuels (containing up to 85%
ethanol) are reserved exclusively for
vehicles marketed for the use of this type
of fuel (BioFlex vehicles). The quality of
the ethanol must comply with European
standard EN 15293.
For Brazil only, special vehicles are
marketed to run on fuels containing up to
100% ethanol (E100 type).














Quality of the fuel used for Diesel
engines

The Diesel engines are perfectly compatible
with biofuels which conform to current
and future European standards (Diesel
fuel which complies with standard EN 590
mixed with a biofuel which complies with
standard EN 14214) available at the pumps
(containing up to 7 % Fatty Acid Methyl
Ester).
The B30 biofuel can be used in certain
Diesel engines; however, this use is subject
to strict application of the special servicing
conditions. Contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a
qualified workshop.
The use of any other type of (bio)fuel
(vegetable or animal oils, pure or diluted,
domestic fuel...) is strictly prohibited (risk of
damage to the engine and fuel system).
