 For vehicles with Twin Clutch SST, if the temperature inside the engine compartment is high, the cooling fans (A) will continue to operate for some time even if the engine is stopped.Therefore, the operation sound of the cooling fans may be heard even after the engine is stopped. This sound is normal and does notindicate a malfunction. After operating for a period of time, the cool- ing fans will stop automatically.NOTE

Refer to “Changing the function settings (With

page 5-126. The display and buzzer alert the driver when the set time is reached. If you continue to drive without having a rest, the buzzer sounds
about every 5 minutes to encourage you to
take a rest.  In the following cases, the time driven is re
set and the display returns to the previous
display screen. After this, when the set time
is reached again, the display and buzzer

Turning the knob in the direction of the “ON” position turns on the front fog lights as wellas the indicator in the instrument cluster. Theycan be turned back on again by rotating the combination headlights and dimmer switch back to “ ” position, and turning the knob in the direction of the “ON” position.

Move the lever in the direction of the arrow and release, to operate the wipers once. Use this function when you are driving inmist or drizzle.
The wipers will operate once if the lever is raised to the “MIST” position and released when the ignition switch is in the “ON” or“ACC” position. The wipers will continue to operate while the lever is held in the “MIST” position. The wipers will operate once if the lever is moved to the “AUTO” position and the knob
(D) is turned in the “+” direction when the ignition switch is “ON” position.

To turn on the windshield washer, pull thelever toward you with the ignition switch in either the “ON” or “ACC” position. The washer fluid will be sprayed onto thewindshield by pulling the lever toward you. When the wipers are not in operation or in intermittent operation, by pulling the lever toward you, the wipers will operate severaltimes while the washer fluid is being sprayed. Also, by releasing the lever soon after pulling it toward you, the washer fluid will besprayed several times while the wipers are operating several times. NOTE
 To listen to the audio system while the engine is not running, turn the ignition switch to the “ACC” position. If the ignition switch is left in the “ACC” position, the accessory power will automati-cally turn off after a certain period of time and you will no longer be able to use the audio system. The accessory power comeson again if the ignition switch is turned from the “ACC” position. Refer to “ACC power auto-cutout function” on page 5-55.  If a cellular phone is used inside the vehicle, it may create noise in the audio equipment.This does not mean that anything is wrong with your audio equipment. In such a case, use the cellular phone at a place as far awayas possible from the audio equipment.  If foreign objects or water get into the audio equipment, or if smoke or a strange odor comes from it, immediately turn off the audio system and have it checked at anauthorized Mitsubishi Motors dealer or a repair facility of your choice. Never try to repair it yourself. Avoid using the audio sys-tem until it is inspected by a qualified per- son.  If the audio system is damaged by foreign objects, water, or fire, have the system checked by a qualified Mitsubishi Motors technician.
 The audio amplifier (if so equipped) is located under the front left seat. Do not subject the amplifier to a strong impact. It could damage the amplifier or malfunc-tioning could result.

It is normal for an engi
ne to use oil. You may
need to add oil between the recommended oil change intervals. Before starting the engine,check the engine oil level. Refill if necessary. To check the oil level, remove the dipstick, wipe it off, and gently insert it all the way into the crankcase. Slowly remove it again.The oil level must not go above the line on the dipstick. If the level does not reach the line, which shows the smallest amount of oil required,remove the oil filler cap on the engine valve cover, and fill to within the “Good” range.
