■After the back door has been opened and then closed
Lock the back door again as the back door will not lock automatically.
■Luggage mode (vehicles with electronically modulated air suspension)
Pressing the vehicle height selector switch to lower the vehicle height makes load-
ing luggage easier. (→P. 2 5 6 )Sensors are attached to the left and right
sides of the power back door. If these sensors
detect an obstruction while the power back
door is closing, the jam protection function
will return the door to the fully open position.

Seat belt pretensioners (front and outside rear seats)
The pretensioner helps the seat
belt to quickly restrain the occu-
pant by retracting the seat belt
when the vehicle is subjected to
certain types of severe frontal colli-
sion.
The pretensioner may not activate
in the event of a minor frontal
impact, a side impact or a rear
impact.
Pre-crash seat belts (front seats of vehicles with a pre-crash safety system)
If the system determines that a collision is unavoidable, the front seat belts
will retract before the collision. (→P. 2 8 0 )
■Adjusting the seat belt shoulder anchor height (front seats)
Push the seat belt shoulder

by operating the lever.
