The key is provided with a metal ins ert A, which operates:
❍ the ignition s witch
❍ the door lock s
To open/clo se the metal ins ert, press button B.

Ëremotely releases the doors locks.
In this case the timed lighting of interior courtesy lights
and double flas hing of direction indicator s (for ver-
s ions /markets where provided) takes place.

Ëfor longer than 2 s econds: window
opening.

Álocks all the door s remotely . In this
case the interior roof light s s witch off and the di-
rection indicators flash once.

Áfor longer than 2 seconds : window clo s-
ing.
If one or more door are open, the door s will not be locked.

The opening of the tailgate i s s ignalled b y the direction in-
dicators flashing twice; when it is closed there is one flash
(only with the alarm on, for ver sions /markets where pro-
vided).
Button B activates power-assisted opening of metal in-
s ert A.
To reins ert the metal ins ert into the grip, hold down but-
ton B and turn the ins ert in the direction shown by the ar-
row until y ou hear it click into place. After locking, relea se
button B.

Deactivating the device
The device deactivates automatically by:
❍ opening the driver’ s door us ing the metal ins ert;
❍ pressing the
Ëbutton on the remote control;
❍ turning the ignition key to the MAR position
Once the safe lock system is engaged, it is im-
possible to open the doors from inside the car.
Therefore, before getting out of the car check that
there is no one left on board. If the remote control
battery is flat, the device can only be disengaged by
using the metal insert in either of the door locks.
ALARM
(for vers ions/markets , where provided)
The alarm, in addition to all the remote control function s
des cribed previous ly , is controlled by the receiver located
under the das hboard near the fu se box.
ALARM AC TIVATION
The alarm intervene s in the following ca se s:
❍ when a door, the bonnet or the tailgate i s opened ille-
gally (perimeter protection);
❍ when the ignition system is operated (ignition key
turned to MAR);
❍ cutting of the battery cables;
❍ movement ins ide the passenger compartment (volu-
metric protection);
❍ when the vehicle is lifted or tilted.
Depending on the market, the activation of the alarm cau s-
e s the activation of the siren and the direction indicator s
(for about 26 s econds). Alarm tripping and the number
of cy cles depend on the s ales market.
There is a maximum number of acous tic/visual cy cles.
When this is r
eached the system returns to normal oper-
ation.
The volume s ensing and anti-lift protection can be ex-
cluded by adjusting the dedicated control on the front roof
light (s ee “Volumetric/anti-lift protection”).

VOLUMETRIC/ANTI-LIFT PROTEC TION
To guarantee the correct operation of the protection sys-
tem it is advisable to s hut all the s ide windows and the sun
roof (for ver sions /markets where provided).
If necessary , the function can be turned off (if, for exam-
ple, you are leaving an animal in the car) b y pressing but-
ton A-fig. 18, located in the front courtesy light, before
activating the alarm it self.
When the function is disabled, this is indicated by the LED
on the button flas hing for several seconds . Any disabling
of the volume s ensing/anti-lift protection mu st be repeat-
ed each time the ins trument panel is switched off.
BREAK IN ATTEMPT INDI CAT I O N
Any break in attempt i s indicated by the
Ywarning light
(or symbol in the dis play) lighting up, together with a mes -
s age shown in the dis play (see “Ins trument panel warn-
ing lights ” paragraph). DIS
ABLING THE ALARM
To turn the alarm off completel y (for example, if the ve-
hicle is not being us ed for a long time) the vehicle mu st be
clos ed by turning the metal ins ert in the key in the lock
without us ing the remote control.
IMPORTANT If the batter y of the key with the remote
control runs out or the system fails , the alarm can be
s witched off by placing the key in the ignition s witch and
turning it to MAR.

DEACTIVATING THE DEVIC E
Turn the ring nut A - fig. 36 to OFF or turn the ignition
key to S TOP. The device is automatically turned off in one
of the following ca se s:
❍ when the brake or clutch pedal i s pressed;
❍ if the AS R or Advanced E SP system cuts in (for ver-
s ions /markets where provided);
While travelling with the device engaged, do
not place the gear lever in neutral.
In case of malfunction or if the device is faulty,
turn the control A - fig. 36 to OFF and con-
tact a Lancia Dealership, after checking that
the protective fuse has not blown.

S witch A is used to s witch on/off roof light s.
With the s witch A in the middle po sition, the lights C and
D go on/off when front door s are opened/clo sed.
Wi t h switch A pressed to the left, the lights C and D are
always off. With s witch A pressed to the right, the lights
C and D are always on.
Lights switch on/off progre ssively.
S witch B controls the spot light function; when the roof
light is off, it s witches on individuall y:
❍ the light C when pre ssed to the left;
❍ the light D when pre ssed to the right.

For versions/markets , where provided the roof light, some
bulbs light the car interior when the main beam headlight s
or dipped beam headlight s are on.
IMPORTANT The roof light, for some vers ions, may also
be in a rear central pos ition (electric sun roof vers ion).
IMPORTANT Before getting out of the car, make sure both
s witches are in the middle po sition; when the door s are
clos ed, the lights s witch off preventing a possible dis charge
of the battery . In any case, if the s witch is left in on pos i-
tion, the roof light s witches off automaticall y 15 minutes
after the engine s witching off.
Roof lig ht timing
To make getting in and out the vehicle eas ier, especially
at night time or in poorl y lit areas, two timing logic are
available.
Timing while getting into the vehicle
The roof lights s witch on according to the following mode s:
❍ for ar
ound 10 s econds when the front door s are un-
locked;
❍ for about 3 minutes when one of the side doors is
opened;
❍ for about 10 seconds when the door s are clos ed.
The timed period is interrupted when the ignition i s turned
to “MAR”. Timing while getting out of the vehicle
After removing the key
from the ignition, the roof light s
s witch on according to the following mode s:
❍ within 2 minutes of the engine being switched off for
a period of about 10 seconds ;
❍ when one of the side doors is opened for a period of
about 3 minute s;
❍ when one of the door s i s clos ed for a period of about
10 seconds .
❍ if the fuel cut off s witch operates, they remain on for
about 15 minute s, then they s witch off automatically .
Door locking s witches the lights off immediately (unless
the fuel cut-off s witch is operating).
