Interior care
Interior general precautions
Prevent chemicals such as perfume, cos- metic oil, sun cream, hand cleaner and
air freshener from contacting the interior
parts because they may cause damage
or discoloration. If they do contact the
interior parts, wipe them off immediately.
See the instructions that follow for the
proper way to clean vinyl.
Cleaning the upholstery and interior
trim
Vinyl
Remove dust and loose dirt from vinyl
with a whisk broom or vacuum cleaner.
Clean vinyl surfaces with a vinyl cleaner.
Fabric
Remove dust and loose dirt from fabric
with a whisk broom or vacuum cleaner.Clean with a mild soap solution recom-
mended for upholstery or carpets.
Remove fresh spots immediately with a
fabric spot cleaner. If fresh spots do not
receive immediate attention, the fabriccan be stained and its color can be
affected. Also, its fire-resistant properties
can be reduced if the material is not
properly maintained.
Cleaning the lap/shoulder belt web-bing
Clean the belt webbing with any mild
soap solution recommended for cleaning
upholstery or carpet. Follow the instruc-
tions provided with the soap. Do not
bleach or re-dye the webbing because
this may weaken it.
Cleaning the interior window glass
If the interior glass surfaces of the vehi-
cle become fogged (that is, covered with
an oily, greasy or waxy film), they should
be cleaned with glass cleaner. Follow the
directions on the glass cleaner container.
CAUTION
Using anything but recommended cleaners and procedures may affect
the fabric’s appearance and fire-resistant properties.
CAUTION
Do not scrape or scratch the insideof the rear window. This may result in damage to the rear windowdefroster grid.
CAUTION
Never allow water or other liquids to come in contact with electrical/electronic components inside thevehicle as this may damage them.
CAUTION
When cleaning leather products
(steering wheel, seats etc.), useneutral detergents or low alcoholcontent solutions. If you use highalcohol content solutions or
acid/alkaline detergents, the color of the leather may fade or the sur-face may get stripped off.

WARNING- Driver’s seat
Never attempt to adjust the seat whilst the vehicle is moving. This
could result in loss of control,and an accident causing death,
serious injury, or property dam-
age.
Do not allow anything to interfere with the normal position of the
seatback. Storing items against a
seatback or in any other way
interfering with proper locking of
a seatback could result in serious
or fatal injury in a sudden stop orcollision.

In order to avoid unnecessary and perhaps severe air bag
injuries, always sit as far back as
possible from the steering wheel

Loose objects in the driver’s foot
area could interfere with the opera-
tion of the foot pedals, possibly
causing an accident. Do not place
anything under the front seats.WARNING - Driver respon-
sibility for passengers
Riding in a vehicle with the seat-
back reclined could lead to serious
or fatal injury in an accident. If a
seat is reclined during an accident,
the occupant’s hips may slide
under the lap portion of the seat
belt, applying great force to the
unprotected abdomen. Serious orfatal internal injuries could result.
The driver must advise the passen-
ger to keep the seatback in an
upright position whenever the vehi-
cle is in motion.
WARNING - Uprighting seat
When you return the seatback to its
upright position, hold the seatback
and return it slowly and be surethere are no other occupants
around the seat. If the seatback isreturned without being held and
controlled, the back of the seat
could spring forward resulting in
accidental injury to a person struck
by the seatback.
WARNING
Do not use a sitting cushion that reduces friction between the seat
and passenger. The passenger's
hips may slide under the lap por-tion of the seat belt during an acci-
dent or a sudden stop. Serious orfatal internal injuries could resultbecause the seat belt can't operate
normally.

Folding the rear seat (if equipped)
The rear seatbacks (or cushions) may be
folded to facilitate carrying long items orto increase the luggage capacity of the
vehicle.To fold the rear seat cushion and seat
back:
The rear seatbacks may be folded for-
ward to provide additional cargo space
and to provide access to the cargo area.
To raise the seatback, lift and push it
firmly until it clicks into place.
When you return the seatback to its upright position, reposition the rear
safety belts so that they can be used
by rear seat passengers.
1. Set the front seatback to the uprightposition and slide the front seat for-
ward.
WARNING
Do not fold the rear seat, if the dri-
ver's position is not properly set
according to the driver's physical
figure after folding the rear seat. A
sudden stop or collision may cause

WARNING
The purpose of the fold-down rear
seatbacks (or cushions) is to allow
you carry longer objects that could
not be accommodated in the cargoarea.
Never allow passengers sit on top
of the folded down seatback whilst
the car is moving as this is not a
proper seating position and no seat
belts are available for use. This
could result in serious injury ordeath in case of an accident or sud-
den stop. Objects carried on the
folded down seatback should not
extend higher than the top of the
front seatbacks. Doing this could
allow cargo to slide forward and
cause injury or damage during sud-den stops.

CAUTION
When folding or unfolding the
rear seat, make sure to move the
front seat fully forward. If thereare not enough space to fold therear seat, never fold it by force. It will cause damage to the head-
rest or the related parts of theseat.
Before using the seat belt, be sure to remove it from the holder.
If you pull out the seat belt whilstit's in the holder, it may damagethe seat belt or holder.
Use the holder only when there is no passengers in the rear seat or
when you need to fold the rearseat.
