To open the center console storage, push
the button (1) or pull up the lever (2).D230600AEN
Cool box (if equipped)
You can keep beverage cans or other
items warm or cool using the open/close
lever of the vent installed in the center
console box.
1. Turn on the fan and set the tempera-
ture control to the desired position.
2. Set the mode control to the face ( ) or bi-level ( ) position.
3. Turn the open/close lever of the vent installed in the center console box to the open position (2).
4. When the cool box is not used, turn the lever to its closed position (1).
STORAGE COMPARTMENT
WARNING - Flammable
materials
Do not store cigarette lighters,
propane cylinders, or other flamma-
ble/explosive materials in the vehi-
cle. These items may catch fire
and/or explode if the vehicle is
exposed to hot temperatures for
extended periods.

compartment.
Always keep the storage com- partment covers closed whiledriving. Do not attempt to place
so many items in the storage compartment that the storagecompartment cover cannot close securely.

will slowly open.
Place a cup or small beverage can in the
holder after spreading the support (1).
WARNING
- Hot liquids
Do not place uncovered cups of hot liquid in the cup holder while
the vehicle is in motion. If the hot
liquid spills, you may burn your-
self. Such a burn to the driver
could lead to loss of control of
the vehicle.
To reduce the risk of a personal injury in the event of a sudden
stop or collision, do not place
uncovered or unsecured bottles,
glasses, cans, etc., in the cup
holder while the vehicle is inmotion.

Sunvisor
Use the sunvisor to shield direct light
through the front or side windows.
To use the sunvisor, pull it downward.
To use the sunvisor for the side window,
pull it downward, unsnap it from the
bracket (1) and swing it to the side (2).
To use the vanity mirror, pull down the
visor and slide the mirror cover (3).
Adjust the sunvisor extension forward or
backward (4).
The ticket holder (5) is provided for hold-
ing a tollgate ticket. (if equipped)

Close the vanity mirror cover securely and return the sunvisor to

floor mat anchor(s) before driving
the vehicle.
Do not use ANY floor mat that can- not be firmly attached to the vehi-

Do not stack floor mats on top of one another (e.g. all-weather rubbermat on top of a carpeted floor mat).
Only a single floor mat should be
installed in each position.

manufactured with driver's side
floor mat anchors that are designed
to securely hold the floor mat in
place. To avoid any interference
with pedal operation, Kia recom-
mends that only the Kia floor mat

Luggage net holder (if equipped)
To keep items from shifting in the cargo
area, you can use the holders located inthe cargo area to attach the luggage net.

Cargo security screen (if equipped)
Use the cargo security screen to hide items stored in the cargo area.
CAUTION
To prevent damage to the goods or
the vehicle, care should be taken
when carrying fragile or bulkyobjects in the luggage compart-ment.
WARNING
To avoid eye injury, DO NOT over-
stretch the luggage net. ALWAYS
keep your face and body out of the
luggage net’s recoil path. DO NOT
use the luggage net when the strap
has visible signs of wear or dam-
age.

1. To use the rear shade of the cargosecurity screen, pull the handle back-
ward and insert the cargo securityscreen bar into the hole both side of
the vehicle.
2. Pull the hook forward and hang the hook on the headrest pole.
3. Pull out the screen and insert the edges into the slots. When not in use, place the cargo securi-
ty screen on the lower portion of thecargo area.

CAUTION
When folding the rear seatback for-
ward, remove the hook from theheadrest pole. Otherwise, the frontshade of the cargo security screen
may be damaged or malformed.
WARNING
Do not place objects on the cargo security screen. Such objects
may be thrown about inside the
vehicle and possibly injure vehi-
cle occupants during an accidentor when braking.
Never allow anyone to ride in the luggage compartment. It is
designed for luggage only.
Maintain the balance of the vehi- cle and locate the weight as far
forward as possible.
CAUTION
Since the cargo security screen
may be damaged or malformed, donot put the luggage on it when it is
used.

Roof rack (if equipped)
If the vehicle has a roof rack, you can load
cargo on top of your vehicle. Crossbars and fixing components needed
to install the roof rack on your vehicle may
be obtained from an authorized Kia dealer.

NOTICE
 The crossbars (if equipped) should be placed in the proper load carrying posi-
tions prior to placing items onto the roof
rack.
 If the vehicle is equipped with a sunroof, be sure not to position cargo onto the
roof rack in such a way that it
could
interfere with sunroof operation.
 When the roof rack is not being used to carry cargo, the crossbars may need to be
repositioned if wind noise is detected.

When carrying cargo on the roof
rack, take the necessary precau-tions to make sure the cargo does
not damage the roof of the vehicle.
When carrying large objects on the roof rack, make sure they donot exceed the overall roof lengthor width.
WARNING
The following specification is the maximum weight that can be
loaded onto the roof rack.
Distribute the load as evenly as
possible across the crossbars (if
equipped) and roof rack and
secure the load firmly.
Loading cargo or luggage in
excess of the specified weight
limit on the roof rack may dam-
age your vehicle.
The vehicle center of gravity will be higher when items are loaded
onto the roof rack. Avoid sudden
starts, braking, sharp turns,
abrupt maneuvers or high speeds
that may result in loss of vehicle
control or rollover resulting in anaccident.

When entering or exiting the vehicle, use
the side step for your convenience.

Always drive slowly and turn cor-ners carefully when carrying
items on the roof rack. Severe
wind updrafts, caused by passing
vehicles or natural causes, can
cause sudden upward pressure
on items loaded on the roof rack.
This is especially true when carry-
ing large, flat items such as wood
panels or mattresses. This could
cause the items to fall off the roof
rack and cause damage to your
vehicle or others around you.
To prevent damage or loss of cargo while driving, check fre-
quently before or while driving to
make sure the items on the roof
rack are securely fastened.

Watch your steps so as not to slip on a slippery side step when it is
rainy or snowy.
If you try to open the door when the temperature is below freezing
or when the side step is covered
with snow or ice, the door could
be damaged. Remove any snow
that may accumulate on the sidesteps.
