Hyundai Motor India Limited here-
inafter called "HMIL", warrants that
each new Hyundai vehicle sold shall
be free from any defects in material
and workmanship, under normal use
and maintenance, subject to the fol-
lowing terms and conditions.
1. Warranty period This warranty shall exist for a period
of
36 months/100,000 kms whichsoever is

earlier from the date
of delivery to the first purchaser.
This warranty is transferab
le to
subsequent owner for the remaining
warranty period. This warranty is
applicable only in India and
not
transferable to any other country.
2. What is covered
Except as provided in paragraph 3
hereof, our Authorized Dealers shall
either repair or replace, any Hyundai
genuine part that is acknowledged
by HMIL to be defective in material or w

orkmanship within the warranty
period stipulated above, at no cost to
the owner of the Hyundai vehicle for
parts or labour. Such defective parts
which have been replaced will
become the property of HMIL.
3. What is not covered
This warranty shall not apply to:
o Normal maintenance services other than the three free services,
including without limitation, clean-
ing and polishing, minor adjust-
ments, engine tuning, oil/fluid
changes, filters replenishment,
fastener retightening, wheel bal-
ancing, wheel alignment and tyre
rotation etc.
o Replacement of parts as a result of normal wear and tear such as
spark plugs, belts, brake pads
and linings, clutch disc/facing, fil-
ters, wiper blades, bulbs, fuses,
etc.
o Damage or failure resulting from: Negligence of proper mainte-
nance as required in this
Owner's Manual and Service
Booklet.
 Misuse, abuse, accident, theft, flooding or fire.
 Use of improper or insufficient
fuel, fluids or lubricants.
 Use of parts other than
Hyundai Genuine Parts.
 Any device and/or accessories
not supplied by HMIL.
 Modifications, alterations,
tampering or improper repair.
 Parts used in applications of
which they were not designed
or not approved by HMIL.
 Slight irregularities not recog-
nised as affecting quality or
function of the vehicle or parts,
such as slight noise or vibra-
tions, or items considered
characteristic of the vehicle.
 Airborne "fallout", Industrial
fall out, acid rain, hail and wind
storms, or other Acts of God.
 Paint scratches, dents or simi-
lar paint or body damage.
 Action of road elements (sand,
gravel, dust or road debris)
which results in stone chipping
of paint or glass.

This Emission Warranty shall not apply to:

o Replacement of parts as a result of normal wear and tear such as
spark plugs\b filters\b etc.
o The vehicle reported without valid ‘Pollution Under Control’ certifi
cate for the period immediately
preceding the test during which
the failure is discovered.
o The vehicle which has been run on adulterated fuel or lubricant or
fuel/lubricants other than those
specified by HMIL.
o Damage or failure resulting from: vNegligence of proper mainte
nance as required in this
Owner’s Manual and Service Booklet.

To keep locks from freezing
To keep the locks from freezing\b
squirt an approved deicer fluid or
glycerine into the key opening. If a
lock is covered with ice\b squirt it with
an approved deicing fluid to remove
the ice. If the lock is frozen internally\b
you may be able to thaw it out by
using a heated key. Handle the heat
ed key with care to avoid injury.
Use approved window washerantifreeze in system
To keep the water in the window
washer system from freezing\b add an
approved window washer antifreeze
solution in accordance with instruc
tions on the container. Window wash
er antifreeze is available from an
authorized HYUNDAI dealer and
most auto parts outlets. Do not use
engine coolant or other types of anti
freeze as these may damage the
paint finish.
Don't let your parking brake freeze
Under some conditions your parking
brake can freeze in the engaged
position. This is most likely to hap
pen when there is an accumulation
of snow or ice around or near the
rear brakes or if the brakes are wet.
If there is a risk the parking brake
may freeze\b apply it only temporarily
while you put the shift lever in P (for
Automatic Transaxle/Continuously
Variable Transaxle) or in first or
reverse gear (for Manual Transaxle)
and block the rear wheels so the
vehicle cannot roll. Then release the
parking brake.
Don't let ice and snow accumulate underneath
Under some conditions\b snow and
ice can build up under the fenders
and interfere with the steering. When
driving in severe winter conditions
where this may happen\b you should
periodically check underneath the
car to be sure the movement of the
front wheels and the steering com
ponents is not obstructed.
Carry emergency equipment
Depending on the severity of the
weather\b you should carry appropri
ate emergency equipment. Some of
the items you may want to carry
include tire chains\b tow straps or
chains\b flashlight\b emergency flares\b
sand\b shovel\b jumper cables\b window
scraper\b gloves\b ground cloth\b cover
alls\b blanket\b etc.
Don't place foreign objects or materials in the engine compartment
Placement of foreign objects or
materials which prevent cooling of
the engine\b in the engine compart
ment\b may cause a failure or com
bustion. The manufacturer is not
responsible for the damage caused
by such placement.

6.If you cannot find the cause of theoverheating, wait until the engine
temperature has returned to nor-
mal. Then, if coolant has been lost,
carefully add coolant to the reser-
voir to bring the fluid level in the
reservoir up to the halfway mark.
7.Proceed with caution, keeping alert for further signs of overheat-
ing. If overheating happens again,
we recommend that you call an
authorized HYUNDAI dealer for
assistance. •

Serious loss of coolant indicates a
leak in the cooling system and we
recommend the system be
checked b y an authorized
HYUNDAI dealer.
• When the engine overheats from low engine coolant, suddenly
adding engin e coolant may cause
cracks in the engine. To prevent
damage, add engine coolant slow-
ly in small quanti ties.NOTICE

• Use a towing cable or chain less than 5 m (16 f eet) long. Attach a
white or red cloth (about 30 cm (12
inches) wide) in the middle of the
cable or chain for easy visibility.
• Drive carefully so the towing cable or chain remains tight during towing.
• Before towing, check the Continuously Variable Transaxle for
fluid leaks under your vehicle. If the
Continuously Variable Transaxle
fluid is leaking, flatbed equipment
or a towing dolly must be used. T

o avoid damage to your vehicle and
vehicle components when towing:
• Always pull straight ahead when usi ng the towing hooks. Do not pull
from the side or at a vertical angle.
• Do not use the towing hooks to pull
a vehicle out of mud, sand or other
conditions from which the vehicle
cannot be driven out under it s own
power.
• Limit the vehicle speed to 15 km/h (10 mph) and drive less
than 1.5 km (1 mile) when towin g to
avoid serious damage to the
Continuously Variable Transaxle.NOTICE
