Glove box lamp
The glove box lamp comes on when the
glove box is opened.

Vanity mirror lamp
Opening the lid of the vanity mirror will
automatically turn on the mirror light.
Welcome light (if equipped)
When all the doors (and trunk) are locked
and closed, the puddle lamp will come on
for about 15 seconds if any of the below is
performed.
- When the door unlock button is pressed
on the transmitter.
- When the door unlock button is pressed
on the smart key.
- When the button of the outside door han-
dle is pressed.
- When the vehicle is approached with the
smart key in possession.
But, if you don't lock or unlock the doors for
14 days after you lock the doors, the light
does not come on. Press the door unlock
button on the transmitter/smart key or
press the button of the front outside door
handle. The welcome light will illuminate.

Exhaust gas cutoff mode :
Air enters the vehicle from the outside.
If exhaust gas enters the vehicle from the
outside, the exhaust gas cutoff mode of
the Air Quality System automatically
switches from the outside air position to
the recirculated air position to prevent
exhaust gas from entering the vehicle.

NOTICE
It should be noted that prolonged oper-
ation of the heating system in recircula-
tion mode will give rise to misting of the
windshield and side windows and the air
within the passenger compartment will
become stale. In addition, prolonged use
of the air conditioning with the recircu-
lation mode selected may result in the
air within the passenger compartment
becoming excessively dry.

Fan speed control
The fan speed can be set to the desired
speed by pushing the fan speed control
button.
The higher the fan speed is, the more air
is delivered.
Pressing the OFF button turns off the
fan.

Air conditioning
Push the A/C button to manually turn the
air conditioning system on (indicator light
will illuminate).
Push the button again to turn the air con-
ditioning system off.

NOTICE
When AUTO mode and the desired tem-
perature has been selected, the Full
Automatic Temperature Control
(FATC) will select the A/C operation
automatically in the background. The
A/C button is not illuminated at all
times during AUTO mode operation.

Air conditioning
HYUNDAI Air Conditioning Systems are
filled with environmentally friendly
R-134a refrigerant.
1. Start the engine. Push the air condi-
tioning button.
2. Set the mode to the position.
3. Set the air intake control to the outside
air or recirculated air position.
4. Adjust the fan speed control and tem-
perature control to maintain maximum
comfort.

NOTICE
• When using the air conditioning sys-
tem, monitor the engine temperature
gauge closely while driving up hills or
in heavy traffic when outside temper-
atures are high. Air conditioning sys-
tem operation may cause engine over-
heating. Continue to use the blower
fan but turn the air conditioning sys-
tem off if the engine temperature
gauge indicates engine overheating.
• When opening the windows in humid
weather air conditioning may create
water droplets inside the vehicle.
Since excessive water droplets may
cause damage to electrical equipment,
air conditioning should only be oper-
ated with the windows closed.
Air conditioning system operation tips
If the vehicle has been parked in direct
sunlight during hot weather, open the
windows for a short time to let the hot
air inside the vehicle escape.
To help reduce moisture inside of the
windows on rainy or humid days,
decrease the humidity inside the vehi-
cle by operating the air conditioning
system.
During air conditioning system opera-
tion, you may occasionally notice a
slight change in engine speed as the
air conditioning compressor cycles.
This is a normal system operation
characteristic.
Use the air conditioning system every
month only for a few minutes to ensure
maximum system performance.

These compartments can be used to
store small items required by the driver
or front passenger.
To open the center console storage, push
the button (1) or (2).

Glove box
The glove box can be locked and
unlocked with a master key (or the
mechanical key of the smart key) (1).
To open the glove box, push the button
(2) and the glove box will automatically
open (3). Close the glove box after use.
STORAGE COMPARTMENTS

materials
Do not store cigarette lighters,
propane cylinders, or other flamma-
ble/explosive materials in the vehi-
cle. These items may catch fire
and/or explode if the vehicle is
exposed to hot temperatures for
extended periods.
CAUTION
To avoid possible theft, do not
leave valuables in the storage
compartments.
Always keep the storage com-
partment covers closed while
driving. Do not attempt to place
so many items in the storage
compartment that the storage
compartment cover cannot close
securely.

Cigarette lighter
For the cigarette lighter to work, the igni-
tion switch must be in the ACC position
or the ON position.
To open the cover, push the cover for-
ward.
To use the cigarette lighter, push it all the
way into its socket. When the element
has heated, the lighter will pop out to the
“ready” position.
If it is necessary to replace the cigarette
lighter, use only a genuine HYUNDAI
replacement or its approved equivalent.

Ashtray
To open the cover, push the cover for-
ward. To clean the ashtray, the plastic
receptacle should be removed by lifting
the plastic ash receptacle upward and
pulling it out.

Only a genuine HYUNDAI lighter
should be used in the cigarettelighter socket. The use of plug-inaccessories (shavers, hand-heldvacuums, and coffee pots, etc.) maydamage the socket or cause electri- cal failure.
WARNING
• Do not hold the lighter in after it is already heated because it will
overheat.
If the lighter does not pop out within 30 seconds, remove it to
prevent overheating.
WARNING - Ashtray use
Do not use the vehicle’s ashtraysas waste receptacles.
Putting lit cigarettes or matches in an ashtray with other combustible
materials may cause a fire.

Cup holder
Cups or small beverage cans may be
placed in the cup holders.
Front
To open the cover, press the cover and it
will slowly open.
Rear
To open the cover, pull the cover.
Sunvisor
Use the sunvisor to shield direct light
through the front or side windows.
To use the sunvisor, pull it downward.
To use the sunvisor for the side window,
pull it downward, unsnap it from the
bracket (1) and swing it to the side (2).
To use the vanity mirror, pull down the
visor and slide the mirror cover (3).
Adjust the sunvisor extension forward or
backward (4).
The ticket holder (5) is provided for hold-
ing a tollgate ticket. (if equipped)
WARNING
Keep cans or bottles out of direct
sun light and do not put them in a
vehicle that is heated up. It may
explode.
WARNING- Hot liquids
Do not place uncovered cups of
hot liquid in the cup holder while
the vehicle is in motion. If the hot
liquid spills, you could be burned.
Such a burn to the driver could
lead to loss of control of the vehi-
cle.
To reduce the risk of personal
injury in the event of sudden stop
or collision, do not place uncov-
ered or unsecured bottles, glass-
es, cans, etc., in the cup holder
while the vehicle is in motion.

Using RADIO, SET UP, VOLUME
Control
1. FM/AM Button
Turns to FM or AM mode, and toggles in
the order of FM1➟FM2➟AM➟FM1...
when the button is pressed each time.
2. POWER Button & VOLUME
Knob
Turns the set on/off when the IGNITION
SWITCH is on ACC or ON. If the button
is turned to the right, it increases the vol-
ume and left, decreases the volume.
3. SEEK Button
When the [SEEK ] button is pressed,
it reduces the band frequency to auto-
matically select a channel. Stops at the
previous frequency if no channel is
found.

4. PRESET Buttons
Press [1]~[6] buttons less than 0.8 second
to play the channel saved in each button.

Turns the displayed data and light on/off
on the LCD.
6. TUNE Knob & SETUP Button
When you rotate to clockwise or counter-
clockwise, the frequency increases or
decreases by each step.

(AM 10kHz, FM 200kHz)
When you press this button, enter the
SETUP mode. If no action is taken for 5
seconds after pressing the button, it will
return to the play mode. (After entering
SETUP mode, move between items
using the left, right and push functions of
the TUNE/SETUP button.)
7. SCAN Button
Press to hear a brief sampling of all sta-
tions on the frequency band. When you
press this button again at this moment, you
can receive the broadcasting that you
choose.
