Vehicle with automatic transaxle:
1.Always carry the smart key with
you.
2.Make sure the parking brake is applied.
3.Make sure the shift lever is in P (Park).
4.Depress the brake pedal.
5 Press the Engine Start/Stop but- ton.
✽ ✽ NOTICE
• Do not wait for the engine to warm
up while the vehicle remains sta-
tionary.
Start driving at moderate engine
speeds. (Steep accelerating and
decelerating should be avoided.)
• Always start the vehicle with your foot on the brake pedal. Do not
depress the accelerator while
starting the vehicle. Do not race
the engine while warming it up.
CAUTION
To prevent damage to the vehi-
cle:
If the engine stalls while you are in motion, do not attemptto move the shift lever to the P(Park) position.
If traffic and road conditionspermit, you may put the shiftlever in the N (Neutral) posi-tion while the vehicle is stillmoving and press the EngineStart/Stop button in anattempt to restart the engine.
Do not push or tow your vehi- cle to start the engine.
CAUTION
To prevent damage to the vehi-cle:
Do not press the EngineStart/Stop button for more than10 seconds except when thestop lamp fuse is blown.
When the stop lamp fuse isblown, you can't start the enginenormally. Replace the fuse witha new one. If you are not able toreplace the fuse, you can startthe engine by pressing andholding the Engine Start/Stopbutton for 10 seconds with theEngine Start/Stop button in theACC position.
For your safety always depressthe brake and/or clutch pedalbefore starting the engine.

Changing a Tire with TPMS
If you have a flat tire, the Low Tire
Pressure Telltale will illuminate. If you
believe you have a flat tire or feel any
vehicle instability, take your foot off
the accelerator pedal and let the
vehicle slow down while driving
straight ahead. Do not apply the
brakes immediately or attempt to pull
off the road as this may cause a loss
of control resulting in an accident.
When the vehicle has slowed to such
a speed that it is safe to do so, brake
carefully and pull off the road. Drive
off the road as far as possible and
park on firm, level ground. If you are
on a divided highway, do not park in
the median area between the two
traffic lanes. Replace the flat tire with
the spare tire (if equipped).The spare tire (if equipped) does not
come with a tire pressure monitoring
sensor. When the low pressure tire or
the flat tire is replaced with the spare
tire, the Low Tire Pressure Telltale
will remain on. Also, the TPMS
Malfunction Indicator will illuminate
after blinking for one minute if the
vehicle is driven at speed above 15.5
mph (25 km/h) for approximately 20
minutes.
Once the original tire equipped with
a tire pressure monitoring sensor is
reinflated to the recommended pres-
sure and reinstalled on the vehicle,
the Low Tire Pressure Telltale and
TPMS Malfunction Indicator will go
off within a few minutes.
If the indicators do not extinguish
after a few minutes, please visit an
authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
Each wheel is equipped with a tire
pressure sensor mounted inside the
tire behind the valve stem (except for
the spare tire). You must use TPMS
specific wheels. It is recommended
that you always have your tires serv-
iced by an authorized HYUNDAI
dealer as soon as possible.

CAUTION
To prevent damaging your tire
pressure sensor, never use apuncture-repairing agents ortire sealants to repair and/orinflate a low pressure tire. Ifused, you will have to replacethe tire pressure sensor.

FUSES
A vehicle’s electrical system is pro-
tected from electrical overload dam-
age by fuses.
This vehicle has 2 (or 3) fuse panels,
one located in the driver’s side panel
bolster, the other in the engine com-
partment near the battery.
If any of your vehicle’s lights, acces-
sories, or controls do not work, check
the appropriate circuit fuse. If a fuse
has blown, the element inside the
fuse will be melted or broken.
If the electrical system does not
work, first check the driver’s side
fuse panel. Before replacing a blown
fuse, disconnect the negative battery
cable. Always replace a blown fuse
with one of the same rating.
If the replacement fuse blows, this
indicates an electrical problem. Avoid
using the system involved and imme-
diately consult an authorized
HYUNDAI dealer.✽ ✽NOTICE
Three kinds of fuses are used: blade
type for lower amperage rating, car-
tridge type, and multi fuse for high-
er amperage ratings.

NEVER replace a fuse with any-
thing but another fuse of the
same rating.
A higher capacity fuse could
cause damage and possibly a

Do not install a wire or alu- minum foil instead of the
proper fuse - even as a tem-
porary repair. It may cause
extensive wiring damage and

Instrument panel fuse replace-
ment
1. Turn the engine off.
2. Turn all other switches OFF.
3. Open the fuse panel cover.
4. Refer to the label on the inside of
the fuse panel cover to locate the
suspected fuse location 5. Pull the suspected fuse straight
out. Use the removal tool provided
in the engine compartment fuses
panel.
6. Remove and check the suspected fuse; replace it if it is blown. Spare
fuses are provided in the instru-
ment panel fuse panels (or in the
engine compartment fuse panel).
7. Push in a new fuse of the same rating, and make sure it fits tightly
in the clips. If it fits loosely, consult
an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
CAUTION
Do not use a screwdriver or anyother metal object to removefuses because it may cause ashort circuit and damage thesystem.

Maintenance
In an emergency, if you do not have
a spare fuse, use a fuse of the same
rating from a circuit you may not
need for operating the vehicle, such
as the cigarette lighter fuse.
If the headlights or other electrical
components do not work and the
fuses are OK, check the fuse panel
in the engine compartment. If a fuse
is blown, it must be replaced.Memory fuse
Always, put the fuse switch at the ON
position.
If you move the switch to the OFF
position, some items such as the
audio and digital clock must be reset
and the remote key (or smart key)
may not work properly.

Engine compartment panel
fuse replacement
1. Turn the engine off.
2. Turn all other switches OFF.
3. Remove the fuse panel cover by
pressing the tap and pulling up.
4. Remove and check the suspected fuse; replace it if it is blown. To
remove or insert the fuse, use the
fuse puller in the engine compart-
ment fuse panel.
5. Push in a new fuse of the same rating, and make sure it fits tightly
in the clips. If it fits loosely, consult
an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
Main fuse
If the main fuse is blown, it must be
removed as follows:
1. Turn off the engine.
2. Disconnect the negative batterycable.
3. Remove the fuse panel cover by pressing the tap and pulling it up.
4. Remove the nuts shown in the pic- ture above.
5. Replace the fuse with a new one of the same rating.
6. Reinstall in the reverse order of removal.

If the main fuse is blown, consult an
authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
