NUMBER OF MYKEY(S)
Indicates the number of MyKeysprogrammed to your vehicle. Use thisfeature to detect how many MyKeys youhave for your vehicle and determine whena MyKey has been deleted.
NUMBER OF ADMIN KEY(S)
Indicates how many admin keys areprogrammed to your vehicle. Use thisfeature to determine how manyunrestricted keys you have for your vehicle,and detect if an additional MyKey has beenprogrammed.
USING MYKEY WITH REMOTE
START SYSTEMS
MyKey is not compatible with nonFord-approved, aftermarket remote startsystems. If you choose to install a remotestart system, see an authorized dealer fora Ford-approved remote start system.
MYKEY TROUBLESHOOTING
Potential CausesCondition
· The key or fob used to start the vehicle doesnot have admin privileges.I cannot create a MyKey.
· The key or fob used to start the vehicle is theonly admin key (there always has to be at leastone admin key).· Vehicles with push-button start: The intelli-gent access key fob is not positioned correctlynext to the steering column. See KeylessStarting (page 136).· SecuriLock passive anti-theft system isdisabled or in unlimited mode.· The vehicle has been started using a remotestart system that is not programmed withadmin privileges. See Using MyKey WithRemote Start Systems (page 52).
· The key or fob used to start your vehicle doesnot have admin privileges.I cannot program the configurablesettings.· No MyKeys are created. See Creating aMyKey (page 51).· The vehicle has been started using a remotestart system that is not programmed withadmin privileges. See Using MyKey WithRemote Start Systems (page 52).
· The key or fob used to start your vehicle doesnot have admin privileges.I cannot clear the MyKeys.

LOCKING AND UNLOCKING
You can use the power door lock controlor the remote control to lock and unlockthe vehicle.
Power Door Locks
The power door lock control is on the driverand front passenger door panels.

Door Lock Indicator
An LED on each door window trim will lightwhen you lock the door. It will remain lit forup to 10 minutes after you switch off theignition.
Switch Inhibitor
When you electronically lock your vehicle,the power door lock switch will no longeroperate after 20 seconds. You must unlockyour vehicle with the remote control orkeyless keypad, or switch the ignition on,to restore function to these switches. Youcan switch this feature on or off in theinformation display. See GeneralInformation (page 87).
Rear Door Unlocking and Opening
Pull the interior door release handle twiceto unlock and open the rear door. The firstpull unlocks the door and the second pullwill unlatch the door.
Remote Control
You can use the remote control at anytime. The luggage compartment releasebutton will only work when the vehiclespeed is less than 5 mph (8 km/h).
Unlocking the Doors (Two-StageUnlock)
Press the button to unlock thedriver door.
Press the button again withinthree seconds to unlock all doors. The turnsignals will flash.
Press and hold both the lock and unlockbuttons on the remote control for threeseconds to change between driver door orall doors unlock mode. The turn signals willflash twice to indicate a change to theunlocking mode. Driver door unlock modewill only unlock the driver door when theunlock button is pressed once. All doorunlock mode will unlock all doors with onepress of the unlock button. The unlockingmode applies to the remote control,keyless entry keypad and intelligentaccess. You can also change the mode inthe information display. See GeneralInformation (page 87).
Locking the Doors
Press the button to lock all thedoors. The turn signals willilluminate.
Press the button again within threeseconds to confirm that all the doors areclosed. The doors will lock again, the hornwill sound and the turn signals willilluminate if all the doors and the luggagecompartment are closed.

Mislock
If any door or the luggage compartment isopen, or if the hood is open on vehicleswith an anti-theft alarm or remote start,the horn will sound twice and the lampswill not flash. You can enable or disablethis feature in the information display. SeeGeneral Information (page 87).
Opening the Luggage Compartment
Press twice within three secondsto open the luggagecompartment.
Make sure to close and latch the luggagecompartment before driving your vehicle.An unlatched luggage compartment maycause objects to fall out or block your view.
Activating Intelligent Access (If
Equipped)
You must have the intelligent access keywithin 3 feet (1 meter) of your vehicle.
At a Door
Pull an exterior door handle to unlock andopen the door. Make sure not to touch thelock sensor on top of the handle.
Touch the top of the door handle to lockyour vehicle. There will be a brief delaybefore you can unlock your vehicle again.
Note:Keep the door handle surface cleanto avoid issues with operation.
At the Luggage Compartment
Press the exterior release button hiddenabove the license plate.
Smart Unlocks For IntegratedKeyhead Transmitter
This feature helps to prevent you fromlocking yourself out of your vehicle if yourkey is still in the ignition.
When you open one of the front doors andlock the vehicle with the power door lockcontrol, all the doors will lock then unlockand the horn will sound twice if your key isstill in the ignition.
You can still lock your vehicle with the keyin the ignition. To do this, use the keylessentry keypad with the driver door closed,or press the lock button on the transmittereven if the doors are not closed.
If both front doors are closed, you can lockyour vehicle by any method, regardless ofwhether the key is in the ignition or not.
Smart Unlocks For IntelligentAccess Keys (If Equipped)
This feature helps to prevent you fromunintentionally locking your intelligentaccess key inside your vehicle’s passengercompartment or rear cargo area.

When you electronically lock your vehicle(with any door open, vehicle in park andignition off), the vehicle will search for anintelligent access key in the passengercompartment after you close the last door.If your vehicle finds a key, all of the doorswill immediately unlock and the horn willsound twice, indicating that a key is inside.
You can override the smart unlock featureand intentionally lock the intelligent accesskey inside your vehicle. To do this, lock yourvehicle after you have closed all the doorsby:
•using the keyless entry keypad
•pressing the lock button on anotherintelligent access key
•touching the locking area on the handlewith another intelligent access key inyour hand.
When you open one of the front doors andlock your vehicle using the power door lockcontrol, all doors will lock then unlock if:
•the ignition is on, or
•the ignition is off and your vehicle is notin P.
Auto Relock
If you press the unlock button on theremote control and do not open a doorwithin 45 seconds, your vehicle will lockand the alarm will arm. You can enable ordisable this feature in the informationdisplay. See General Information (page87).
Autolock Feature
The autolock feature will lock all the doorswhen:
•all doors are closed,
•the ignition is on,
•you shift into any gear putting yourvehicle in motion, and
•your vehicle attains a speed greaterthan 12 mph (20 km/h).
The autolock feature repeats when:
•you open then close any door while theignition is on and your vehicle speed is9 mph (15 km/h) or lower, and
•your vehicle then attains a speedgreater than 12 mph (20 km/h).
Autounlock Feature
The autounlock feature will unlock all thedoors when:
•the ignition is on, all the doors areclosed, and your vehicle has been inmotion at a speed greater than 12 mph(20 km/h);
•your vehicle comes to a stop and youswitch the ignition off or to accessory;and
•you open the driver door within 10minutes of the switching the ignitionoff or to accessory.
Note:The doors will not autounlock if youelectronically lock your vehicle after youswitch the ignition off and before you openthe driver door.
Enabling or Disabling
Note:You can enable or disable theautolock and autounlock featuresindependently of each other.
You can enable or disable these featuresin the information display or yourauthorized dealer can do it for you. SeeGeneral Information (page 87).
Illuminated Entry
The interior lamps and select exteriorlamps will illuminate when you unlock thedoors with the remote entry system.

The illuminated entry system will turn offthe lights if:
•the ignition is on,
•you press the remote control lockbutton, or
•after 25 seconds of illumination.
The lights will not turn off if:
•you turn them on with the lamp control,or
•any door is open.
Illuminated Exit
The interior lamps and select exteriorlamps will illuminate when all doors areclosed, you switch the ignition off and youremove the key from the ignition(integrated keyhead transmitter only).
The lamps will turn off if all the doorsremain closed and:
•25 seconds elapse
•you insert the key in the ignition(integrated keyhead transmitter only)
•you press the START/STOP button(intelligent access key only).
Battery Saver
If you leave the courtesy lamps, domelamps or headlamps on, the battery saverwill shut them off 10 minutes after youswitch the ignition off.
Accessory Mode Battery Saver forIntelligent Access Keys (If Equipped)
If you leave your vehicle in the run ignitionstate, it will shut off once it detects acertain amount of battery drain or after 45minutes.
Luggage Compartment
With the Remote Control
Press twice within three secondsto unlatch the trunk.
From Outside Your Vehicle
Press the release button above the licenseplate to unlatch the trunk. Your vehiclemust be unlocked or have an intelligentaccess transmitter within 3 feet (1 meter)of the trunk.
KEYLESS ENTRY (IF EQUIPPED)
SECURICODE™ KEYLESS ENTRYKEYPAD
The keypad is located near the driverwindow. It is invisible until touched andthen it lights up so you can see and touchthe appropriate buttons.
Note:If you enter your entry code too faston the keypad, the unlock function may notwork. Re-enter your entry code more slowly.

4.Within 10 seconds, place a secondprogrammed intelligent access key inthe backup slot and press theSTART/STOP button.
5.Wait 5 seconds, and then press theSTART/STOP button again.
6.Remove the intelligent access key.
7.Wait 5 seconds, then place theunprogrammed intelligent access keyin the backup slot and press theSTART/STOP button.
Programming is now complete. Verify theremote control functions operate and yourvehicle starts with the new intelligentaccess key.
If programming was not successful, wait10 seconds and repeat Steps 1 through 7.If you are still unsuccessful, take yourvehicle to your authorized dealer.
ANTI-THEFT ALARM
The system will warn you of anunauthorized entry to your vehicle. It willbe triggered if any door, the luggagecompartment or the hood is openedwithout using the key, remote control orkeyless entry keypad.
The direction indicators will flash and thehorn will sound if unauthorized entry isattempted while the alarm is armed.
Take all remote controls to an authorizeddealer if there is any potential alarmproblem with your vehicle.
Arming the Alarm
The alarm is ready to arm when there isnot a key in the ignition. Electronically lockthe vehicle to arm the alarm.
Disarming the Alarm
Disarm the alarm by any of the followingactions:
•Unlock the doors or luggagecompartment with the remote controlor keyless entry keypad.
•Switch the ignition on or start thevehicle.
•Use a key in the driver’s door to unlockthe vehicle, then switch the ignition onwithin 12 seconds.
Note:Pressing the panic button on theremote control will stop the horn and signalindicators, but will not disarm the system.
