License Plate Lamp
1. Carefully release the spring clip.
2. Remove the lamp.
3. Turn the bulb counterclockwise and
remove it.
Interior Lamp 1. Carefully remove the lamp.
2.
Turn the bulb holder counterclockwise
and remove it.
3. Remove the bulb. Reading Lamps 1. Carefully remove the lamp.
2.
Turn the bulb holder counterclockwise
and remove it.
3. Remove the bulb.
Luggage Compartment Lamp,
Footwell Lamp and Liftgate Lamp 1. Carefully pry out the lamp.
2. Remove the bulb.

CHANGING A BULB - VEHICLES
WITH: 5-DOOR
WARNINGS
Switch the lamps and the ignition off.
Let the bulb cool down before
removing it.
Do not touch the glass of the bulb.
Note:
Only fit bulbs of the correct
specification.
Note: The following instructions describe
how to remove the bulbs. Fit replacements
in the reverse order unless otherwise stated.
Headlamp
Note: Remove the covers to gain access to

1. Remove the headlamp. See Removing a Headlamp (page 189). 2. Remove the bulb holder.
3. Remove the bulb.
Headlamp Low Beam
1. Remove the headlamp. See

(page 189). 2. Remove the cover.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector.
4. Release the clip and remove the bulb.
Note:
Do not touch the glass of the bulb.
Headlamp High Beam
1. Remove the headlamp. See Removing a Headlamp

3. Turn the bulb counterclockwise and
remove it.
Note: Do not touch the glass of the bulb.
Direction Indicator
1. Remove the headlamp. See Removing a Headlamp (page 189). 2.
Turn the bulb holder counterclockwise
and remove it.
3. Gently press the bulb into the bulb holder, turn it counterclockwise and
remove it. Side Direction Indicator
1. Press the side of the cover to release
the clips.
2. Remove the cover. 3. Remove the bulb and bulb holder.
Remove the bulb.

Front Fog Lamps
1. Remove the retaining clips to gain
access to the lamp assembly. Note:
You cannot separate the fog lamp
bulb from the bulb holder.
2. Using a suitable implement, remove the cover.
3. Remove the screws.
4. Remove the lamp. 5. Disconnect the electrical connector.
6.
Turn the bulb holder counterclockwise
and remove it.
Rear Lamps 1. Remove the screws.

1 Your engine has been designed to be used with Ford engine oil, which gives a fuel economy
benefit while maintaining the durability of your engine.
Using oils other than the one specified can result in longer engine cranking periods, reduced
engine performance and reduced fuel economy.
2 Automatic transmissions that require Motorcraft MERCON LV transmission fluid should
only use Motorcraft MERCON LV transmission fluid.
Use of any fluid other than the recommended fluid may cause transmission damage.
Change the automatic transmission fluid and filter at the correct service interval. See
Scheduled Maintenance (page 368).
3 Add the coolant type originally used in your vehicle.
4 Use only Motorcraft DOT 4 LV High Performance Brake Fluid, or equivalent, meeting
WSS-M6C65-A2 or ISO 4925 Class 6. Use of any fluid other than the recommended fluid
