2014 FIAT PANDA deactivate passenger airbag

To set the desired volume, proceed as follows:
❒press the
button briefly, making the display flash
the previously set volume level;
❒press the
or
button to select;
❒press the
button briefly to return to the menu
screen or hold the button down to return to the
standard screen without storing.
Belt buzzer (Buzzer activation for SBR
indication)(for versions/markets, where provided)
This function can only be displayed after a Fiat
Dealership has deactivated the SBR system (see "SBR
system" in the "Safety" chapter).
Service (Scheduled servicing)
Using this function you can display information about
the mileage or daily intervals for car servicing. With
the Service function it is also possible to view the
interval (in kilometres or miles) before the next
engine oil change is due.
To consult this information, proceed as follows:
❒briefly press the
button, which makes the display
show the service interval in kilometres (km) or
miles (mi) according to the previous setting (see
"Distance measurement units" paragraph);
❒press the
button briefly to return to the menu
screen or hold it down to return to the standard
screen.NoteThe “Scheduled Servicing Plan” requires the
car to be serviced every 30,000 km (or 18,000 miles)
for petrol versions and every 35,000 km (or 21,000
miles) for diesel versions. This message is displayed
automatically when the key is turned to MAR-ON,
starting at 2,000 km (or equivalent value in miles)
from when the next service is due and reappearing
every 200 km (or equivalent value in miles). Below
200 km servicing indications are more frequent. The
display will be in km or mi depending on the
measurement unit settings. When the next
scheduled service is approaching and the key is
turned to MAR, the word “Service” will appear on
the display, followed by the number of kilometres or
miles left before servicing is due. Go to a Fiat
Dealership, where the "Scheduled Servicing Plan"
operations will be performed and the message will
be reset.
Airbag/Passenger bag (Passenger side front
airbag and side bag (chest & pelvis protection
- for versions/markets, where provided)
activation/deactivation)
This function allows the passenger side airbag to be
activated/deactivated.
Proceed as follows:
❒press the
button and, after the message "Bag
pass: Off" (to deactivate) or "Bag pass: On" (to
activate) is displayed by pressing buttons
and
, press the
button again;
❒a confirmation message will appear on the display;

Deactivation of passenger side front air bag
and side bag for chest/pelvis protection (for
versions/markets, where provided)
If a child must be carried in backwards-facing seat on
the front seat, deactivate the front passenger side
air bag and side bags for chest/shoulder protection
(for versions/markets where provided). With the air
bags deactivated, the
warning light switches on
in the instrument panel.
IMPORTANT To deactivate the air bags see the
description in the "Getting to know your car"
chapter, "Menu Options" paragraph.
SIDE BAGS (Side bag - Window bag)
The car is fitted with front side airbags for driver and
passenger (for versions/markets where provided)
for protecting the chest and pelvis, and window bags
(for versions/markets where provided) for protecting
the heads of front and rear occupants.
Side bags protect occupants from side-on crashes of
medium/high severity by placing the bag between
the occupant and the internal parts of the side
structure of the vehicle.
Non-activation of side bags in other types of
collisions (head-on collisions, rear shunts, roll-overs,
etc...) is not an indication of system malfunction.Side bags
(for versions/markets, where provided)
These comprise two types of bags located in the
front seat backrests fig. 106 which protect the chest
and shoulder area of the occupants in the event of
a side impact of medium-high severity.

WARNING
Afaultwiththe
warning light is
indicated by flashing of the
warning
light , which signals the deactivation of the
passenger side front airbag. In addition, the
airbag system automatically disables the
airbags on the passenger's side (front and side
bags - for versions/markets, where provided).
In this case, the
warning light may not
indicate faults in the restraint systems. Before
continuing, contact a Fiat Dealership
immediately to have the system checked.
PASSENGER/SIDE AIRBAGS
DEACTIVATED (amber)
(for versions/markets, where provided)
The
warning light switches on when the front
passenger's airbag and side bag are disabled. With
front passenger airbag on, when the ignition key
is turned to MAR, the
warning light switches on
constantly for several seconds, it flashes for another
few seconds and then it should switch off.
WARNING
A failure of the
warning light is
indicated by
warning light switching
on. In addition, the airbag system automatically
disables the airbags on the passenger's side
(front and side bags where provided). Before
continuing, contact a Fiat Dealership
immediately to have the system checked.
SEAT BELTS NOT FASTENED (red)
(for versions/markets, where provided)
The warning light switches on constantly with the
car stationary and the driver's side or passenger side
seat belt (when the passenger is present) not
fastened. The warning light will flash and a buzzer will
sound if the car is in motion and the front seat belts
are not correctly fastened.
Contact a Fiat Dealership if you wish to permanently
deactivate the SBR (Seat Belt Reminder) system
buzzer. The system can be reactivated using the
Setup menu (see the description in the "Knowing
your car" section).
