ADJUSTING THE SEAT BELT HEIGHT
(for versions/markets, where provided)
The height can be adjusted to 4 different positions.
To adjust, press button A fig. 90 and lower or raise
the grip B.
Always adjust the seat belt height adapting it to the
passenger's body: this precaution may considerably
reduce the risk of injury in the event of a collision.
Correct adjustment is obtained when the belt passes
approximately half way between the shoulder and
the neck.
For some versions, front seat belts have just one
fixed anchor point C fig. 91 on the door pillar.
SBR SYSTEM (Seat Belt Reminder)This system consists of a device which, in
conjunction with the switching on of the
warning
light on the instrument panel and an intermittent
acoustic signal, warns the driver and front passenger
if their seat belts have not been fastened. The icon
A
fig. 92 indicates that the seat belt is not
fastened. The icon B
fig. 92 indicates that the seat
belt is fastened.
For permanent deactivation, contact a Fiat
Dealership. The SBR system can only be reactivated
via the display Setup Menu (see “Knowing your
car” section).
The amber warning lights operate as follows:
❒1 = front left seat (driver status for left-hand drive
versions);
❒2 = rear left seat (passenger) (for versions/markets
where provided);

WARNING LIGHTS AND MESSAGES
WARNING LIGHTS AND MESSAGESGENERAL WARNINGS
Warning lights are accompanied by a specific message
and/or acoustic warning where provided by the
control panel. These indications areconcise and
precautionaryand, as such, must not be
considered as exhaustive and/or an alternative to the
information contained in this Owner Handbook,
which you are advised to read carefully in all cases. In
the event of a failure indication, always refer to
the contents of this section.
IMPORTANT Failure indications displayed are divided
into two categories:very seriousandless serious
failures.
Very seriousfailures are indicated by a repeated
and prolonged warning "cycle".
Less seriousfailures are indicated by a shorter
warning "cycle".
The display cycle of both categories can be
interrupted by pressing the
button. The
instrument panel warning light will stay on until the
cause of the malfunction is eliminated.
BRAKE FLUID LOW (red) /
HANDBRAKE ENGAGED (red)
Turning the key to MAR switches on the warning
light, but it should switch off after a few seconds.
LOW BRAKE FLUID LEVEL
The warning light switches on when the level of the
brake fluid in the reservoir falls below the minimum
level due to a possible leak in the circuit. On some
versions the display shows the dedicated message.
WARNING
If the
warning light switches on while
driving, stop immediately and contact
a Fiat Dealership.
HANDBRAKE ENGAGED
When the key is turned to MAR, the warning light
switches on but should switch off after a few
seconds.
The warning light (or symbol on the display) switches
on when the handbrake is engaged. If the car is in
motion, there will also be an acoustic warning.

PLUG PREHEATING
The warning light switches on when the key is turned
to MAR and switches off when the plugs have
reached the preset temperature. The engine can be
started as soon as the warning light switches off.
IMPORTANT At moderate or high ambient
temperatures the warning light may stay on for an
extremely short time.PLUG PREHEATING FAILURE
The warning light flashes (together with a message
and a symbol on the display on some versions)
to indicate a fault in the plug preheating system.
Contact a Fiat Dealership to have the fault fixed as

"DUALDRIVE" ELECTRIC POWER
STEERING FAILURE (red)
This warning light switches on when the key is
turned to MAR, but it should switch off after a few
seconds. If the warning light (or, on some versions, a
message and a symbol on the display) stays on, you
may not have steering assistance and the effort
required to operate the steering wheel could be
notably increased; steering is, however, possible. In
this case, contact a Fiat Dealership.
IMPORTANT In some circumstances, factors
independent of the electric power steering could
cause the warning light on the instrument panel to
switch on. In this case, stop the car immediately
(should it be in motion), stop the engine for about
20 seconds and then restart the engine. If the
warning light (or, on some versions, a message and a
