This spring loaded system
has activation forces which
were designed for optimised comfort.
Accidental shocks or a strong wind-
blast may release the springs and let
the door sides close spontaneously.
WARNING
Emergency opening of
first door side from inside
Pull the lever A-fig. 76from inside the ve-
hicle.
Opening the second door side
First, open the first side. Then, pull lever
A-fig. 77 as illustrated by the arrow.
IMPORTANT Exclusively pull the lever
A-fig. 77in the direction shown in the
figure.

Opening/closing the
first side from outside
To open the first side turn the key metal
insert in the lock or press button ∞on
the remote control. Then, pull the lever
A-fig. 75as illustrated by the arrow.
To close the first side turn the key metal
insert in the closing direction or press but-
ton Áon the remote control.

While closing, first lock the

followed by the left-hand door side

REMOVING REAR SEAT
When bulky cargos need to be carried, the
loading compartment can be further ex-
panded by removing the rear seat.
Combi versions
First, tip the rear seat as described above.
Then, pull the two brackets A-fig. 89un-
der the seat, one on each side.REPOSITIONING THE
REAR SEAT
Proceed as follows:
❒check that the seat belt is correctly fit-
ted in the corresponding bracket;
❒bring the seat cushion back in horizon-
tal position and make sure that it is
properly secured;
❒tip the backrest backwards and make
sure that it is properly secured.
There is a diagram (fig. 90) under the split
seat cushion illustrating the reattachment
to the brackets bolted onto the floor.

ANCHORING THE CARGO
For easier cargo fastening, eyebolts have
been supplied on the boot floor (varying
in number according to versions):

The rear seat belts must be used as shown
in the diagram in fig. 2-fig. 2a.
IMPORTANT The backrest is correctly
secured when the “red band” B-fig. 3 on
the backrest lowering levers Adisappears.
This red band indicates that the backrest
is not secured. IMPORTANT After putting the seats back
in their travel position, restore the seat
belt position to make them ready for use.
S.B.R. SYSTEM
The vehicle is provided with a Seat Belt
Reminder (S.B.R.) system, which warns
the driver and the front passenger if the
seat belt is not buckled, as follows:
❒warning light
buzzer keeps on playing for the first 6
seconds;
❒warning light
plays intermittently for the next 90 sec-
onds;
For permanent deactivation, contact the
Fiat Dealership.
The S.B.R. system can also be reset

Make sure the backrest is
properly secured on both
sides (red bands B not visible) to pre-
vent it from moving forward in the
event of sharp braking, which may
cause injuries to passengers.
