Head restraint adjustment
1. Release the adjustment mechanism. 2. Adjust for height and reach. 3. Lock the adjustment mechanism.
Steering wheel adjustment
For reasons of safety, these operations must only be carried out with the vehicle stationary.
To lower it, simultaneously press button A and push down on the head restraint. To raise it, guide the head restraint upwards to the desired position. To incline it, swivel the lower part backwards or forwards.

The electronic power super visor - 4automatically manages the operation of the two power units (Diesel and electric) to provide the lowest consumption. An inverter and a transformer are needed to manage the electric power. The inverter acts on the torque of the electric motor, by regulating the current coming from the high voltage battery pack. Its operating range is between 150 and 270 volts. The transformer converts the 200 V of the battery pack to 12 V, to power the vehicle's ancillary systems.
The alternator-starter motor - 5 assures the Stop & Star t function which allows the Diesel engine to be put into standby during stops (traffic lights, a stop, or in a traffic jam, for example) or during phases of running in all-electric mode. The stopping and restarting of the Diesel engine is done in a way that is instantaneous and transparent for the driver. It also provides additional charging of the batteries (4x4 mode for example or under-charged high voltage battery).
The electronic gearbox - 6 provides, in automatic mode, significant savings in fuel consumption compared to a conventional manual gearbox, thanks to its electronic control system. It also offers improved driving pleasure with the possibility at any time of choosing the gear changing mode: automatic or manual, using the paddles located behind the steering wheel.

Before starting
- Place the gear selector lever in position N . - If your vehicle has Keyless Entry and Starting, simply having the key inside the vehicle is sufficient. - If not, place the electronic key in the reader.
- Press the brake pedal. - Make a single short press (about a second) on the START/STOP button. - The steering column locks (noticeable noise and movement of the steering wheel). - Keep your foot on the brake pedal until the Hybrid4 system starts up (the instrument panel and the Ready lamp come on, confirmed by an audible signal).
Starting the Hybrid4 system
Starting - switching off the engine
The hybrid system determines whether it is necessary to start the Diesel engine.
When your vehicle vehicle moves off
in electric mode, it makes no noise. Be ver y careful of pedestrians and cyclists as they will not hear you coming.

Switching off the Hybrid4
system
- Before switching off the Hybrid4 system, place the gear selector in position N . - Make a short press on the START/STOPbutton. - The system shuts down and the steering column locks. For more information, see the section on "Underbonnet precautions/warnings".
When stationary, switch off the ignition and check that the Ready lamp is off before leaving the vehicle, otherwise the hybrid system will still be active.

Back-up starting with the Keyless Entry and Starting system
When the electronic key is in the defined zone and your vehicle does not start after pressing the "START/STOP" button: Insert the electronic key in the reader. Press the brake pedal. Press the "START/STOP" button. The hybrid system is active.
Back-up switch-off
In the event of an emergency only, the engine can be switched of without any conditions. To
do this, press and hold the "START/STOP" button for about 3 seconds. In this case the steering column locks as soon as the vehicle stops.
Electronic key not recognised by the "Keyless Entry and Starting" system
If the electronic key is no longer in the defined zone when driving or when you (later) request switching off of the hybrid system, a message appears in the instrument panel.
Press and hold the "START/STOP" button for about 3 seconds if you want to force
switching off of the hybrid system (note that restarting will not be possible without the electronic key in the defined zone).
The electronic key must always remain inside the vehicle when in use.

Automatic restarting of the Diesel engine or ZEV mode NOT available
Maintaining the performance of the system
- When the vehicle exceeds 18 mph (30 km/h) after moving off (if the internal
combustion engine has not already started since the vehicle was last started). - If the high voltage battery is not sufficiently charged. A minimum of 4 bars in ZEV mode so as to ensure operation over a certain distance (in AUTO, electric operation is accessible for a shorter period with a lower level of charge). - When the fuel level enters the reserve zone (where rate of consumption of this reserve is high, ZEV inhibition may continue for some time after refuelling). - During regeneration of the particle emissions filter, which occurs automatically for 5 to 10 minutes, approximately every 300 miles (500 kms) (or less in extended urban running).
The internal combustion engine may restart or ZEV mode may not be available in the various conditions presented below. The internal combustion engine can be switched off automatically as soon as these conditions are lifted. When the conditions described below cause the vehicle to come out of ZEV mode and the Diesel engine to restart, the vehicle automatically changes to AUTO mode.
Your vehicle is fitted with the most effective emissions control systems, in particular the Particle Emissions Filter (PEF). At regular intervals your Diesel engine will produce energy for the self-cleaning of this f i l t e r. During this PEF regeneration phase, electric running is purposely made unavailable and is accompanied by a message " Electric mode not available: PEF regeneration in progress ".
Action by the driver
- Moving the gear selector to position M . - Action on steering mounted control paddles to change gear. - Sustained and sharp acceleration. - Use of demisting. - Use of air conditioning.
Diffi cult weather conditions and circumstances
- If certain conditions or engine temperature requirements make it necessary (such as an engine temperature that is too low for the ambient conditions). - When the battery is close to maximum charge (for example: when going down a long hill), because engine recovery being no longer possible, the internal combustion engine restarts automatically just to provide engine braking. - If the vehicle encounters a steep slope (car park ramp, ...). - If the vehicle has been parked in the sun for a prolonged period. - When driving in mountainous conditions (altitude).
