Passenger Sensing
System
United States
Canada and Mexico
The passenger sensing system will
turn off the front outboard
passenger frontal airbag and knee
airbag under certain conditions. No
other airbag is affected by the
passenger sensing system. See
Passenger Sensing System on
page 3-28. The passenger airbag status
indicator lights on the overhead
console are visible when the vehicle
is started. See
Passenger Airbag

Mirror Adjustment
Exterior
Controls for the outside power
mirrors are on the driver door.
To adjust each mirror:
1. Press (L) or (R) to select the driver or passenger side mirror. 2. Press the arrows on the control
pad to move the mirror up,
down, right, or left.
3. Adjust each mirror so that a little of the vehicle and the area
behind it can be seen.
4. Press
Oto deselect the mirror.

Interior
The vehicle has an automatic
dimming inside rearview mirror.
Automatic dimming reduces the
glare of headlamps from behind.
The dimming feature comes on
when the vehicle is started.

DOOR:The lamp comes on when
a door is opened.
ON: Turns the lamp on.
Reading Lamps
There are front and rear reading
lamps on the overhead console and
over the rear passenger doors.
These lamps come on when any
door is opened.
To manually turn the reading lamps
on or off:
Pressmornnext to each
overhead console reading lamp.
Press the button next to each rear
passenger reading lamp.

Exterior Lighting
The exterior lamp control is on the
end of the turn signal lever.
There are four positions:
O: Turns off the exterior lamps.
The knob returns to the AUTO
position after it is released. Turn to
Oagain to reactivate the AUTO
mode. In Canada, the headlamps
will automatically reactivate when
the vehicle is shifted out of P (Park).
AUTO: Automatically turns the
exterior lamps on and off,
depending on outside lighting.

Windshield Wiper/Washer
With the ignition in ACC/
ACCESSORY or ON/RUN/START,
move the lever to select the wiper
speed.
HI: Use for fast wipes.
LO: Use for slow wipes.
INT: Move the windshield wiper
lever to INT. Turn the
xINT band
on the wiper lever to adjust the
sensitivity. To turn the Rainsense
feature on or off, see “Rain Sense
Wipers” underVehicle
Personalization on page 5-48.
OFF: Use to turn the wipers off.
1X : For a single wipe, briefly move
the lever down. For several wipes,
hold the lever down.
n L: Pull the lever toward you to
spray windshield washer fluid and
activate the wipers.

Remote Keyless Entry
(RKE) System Operation
The Keyless Access system allows
for vehicle entry when the
transmitter is within 1 m (3 ft). See
“Keyless Access Operation”later in
this section.
The RKE transmitter may work up to
60 m (197 ft) away from the vehicle.
Keep in mind that other conditions,
such as those previously stated, can
impact the performance of the
transmitter.
With Remote Start and Remote
Trunk Release Shown, Without Similar
Q(Lock):Press to lock all doors.
The turn signal indicators may flash
and/or the horn may sound to
indicate locking. See “Remote Lock,
Unlock, Start” underVehicle
Personalization on page 5-48.
If the driver door is open when
Qis
pressed and Unlocked Door
Anti-Lockout is enabled through the
vehicle personalization, all doors will
lock and then the driver door will immediately unlock. See
“Unlocked
Door Anti Lock Out” underVehicle
Personalization on page 5-48. If the
passenger door is open when
Qis
pressed, all doors lock.
Pressing
Qmay also arm the
theft-deterrent system. See Vehicle
Alarm System on page 2-16.
K(Unlock): Press to unlock the
driver door or all doors. When
remotely unlocking the vehicle at
night, the headlamps and back-up
lamps will come on for about
30 seconds to light your approach to
the vehicle. The turn signal
indicators may flash to indicate
unlocking. Memory seat positions
may be recalled when unlocking the
vehicle.

Pressing
Kwill disarm the
theft-deterrent system. See Vehicle
Alarm System on page 2-16.

Power Mirrors
Controls for the outside power
mirrors are on the driver door.
To adjust each mirror:
1. Press (L) or (R) to select thedriver or passenger side mirror.
2. Press the arrows on the control pad to move the mirror up,
down, right, or left.
3. Adjust each mirror so that a little of the vehicle and the area
behind it can be seen. 4. Press
Oto deselect the mirror.
Memory Mirrors
If equipped, the vehicle may have
memory mirrors. See

Automatic Dimming
If equipped, the driver side mirror
automatically dims to reduce the
glare of the vehicle headlamps from
behind. This feature comes on when
the vehicle is started.
Folding Mirrors
Manual Folding Mirrors
The mirrors can be folded inward
toward the vehicle to prevent
damage when going through an
automatic car wash. Push the mirror
outward to return it to the original
position.
Heated Mirrors
=
(Rear Window Defogger):
If equipped, press to heat the
mirrors.

Reverse Tilt Mirrors
The passenger and/or driver mirror
tilt to a preselected position when
the vehicle is in R (Reverse). This
feature allows the driver to view the
curb when parallel parking. The
mirror returns to the original position
when the vehicle is shifted out of
R (Reverse), the ignition is turned
off or to OFF/LOCK, or if the vehicle
is driven in reverse above a
predetermined speed.
Turn this feature on or off through
vehicle personalization. See Vehicle
Personalization on page 5-48.
