Information
This section provides a brief
overview about some of the
important features that may or may
not be on your specific vehicle.
For more detailed information, refer
to each of the features which can be
found later in this owner manual.
Remote Keyless Entry
(RKE) System
The RKE transmitter may be used
to lock and unlock the doors from up
to 60 m (197 ft) away from the
vehicle.
Q:Press to lock all doors.
K: Press to unlock the driver door
or all doors, depending on the
vehicle personalization settings.
See Vehicle Personalization on
page 5-43.
L: Press and release initiate
vehicle locator. Press and hold
Lfor
three seconds to sound the panic
alarm.
Press
Lagain or start the vehicle
to cancel the panic alarm.
Y: Press and hold to release the
trunk.
With Remote Start Shown, Without
Similar
Press the key release button near
the bottom of the transmitter to
remove the key. The key can be
used for the driver door and the
glove box.

This key, inside the Remote Keyless
Entry (RKE) transmitter, is used for
the driver door and glove box.
To remove the key, press the button
near the bottom of the transmitter,
and pull the key out. Never pull the
key out without pressing the button.
See your dealer if a new key is
needed.
Contact Roadside Service if locked
out of the vehicle. SeeRoadside
Service on page 13-5.
With an active OnStar subscription,
an OnStar Advisor may remotely
unlock the vehicle. See OnStar
Overview on page 14-1.
Remote Keyless Entry
(RKE) System

page 13-15.
If there is a decrease in the RKE
operating range:
.Check the distance. The
transmitter may be too far from
the vehicle.
.Check the location. Other
vehicles or objects may be
blocking the signal.
.Check the transmitter's battery.
See “Battery Replacement” later
in this section.
.If the transmitter is still not
working correctly, see your
dealer or a qualified technician
for service.

Seats and Restraints 3-21
There is an airbag readiness light
on the instrument cluster, which
shows the airbag symbol. The
system checks the airbag electrical
system for malfunctions. The light
tells you if there is an electrical
problem. SeeAirbag Readiness
Light on page 5-14.
Where Are the Airbags?
The driver frontal airbag is in the
center of the steering wheel.
The front outboard passenger
frontal airbag is in the passenger
side instrument panel.
The driver knee airbag is below the
steering column. The front outboard
passenger knee airbag is below the
glove box.

Do not store heavy or sharp
objects in storage compartments.
In a crash, these objects may
cause the cover to open and
could result in injury.
Instrument Panel Storage
To access, press on the cover and
release. There is an accessory
power outlet inside. SeePower
Outlets on page 5-7.
If equipped, there may be storage
behind the climate control system.
Touch the bottom of the climate
control system panel until the door
automatically starts to open. There
is a USB port inside. See USB Port
on page 7-15.
Keep the storage area closed when
not in use.

Touch the bottom of the climate
control system panel again until the
door automatically starts to close.
Glove Box
To open the glove box, lift up on the
lever. Use the key to lock and
unlock it. The glove box may have a
compact disc player inside.
Armrest Storage
Front Armrest
Press the button and lift to access
the storage area. There is a USB
port, SD card reader, and auxiliary jack inside. See
USB Port on
page 7-15, SD Card Reader on
page 7-18, and Auxiliary Jack on
page 7-19.
Rear Armrest
Pull the armrest down and lift the
cover to access the storage area.
Additional Storage
Features
Cargo Tie-Downs
The cargo tie-downs can be used to
secure small loads inside the trunk.
