Front passenger's seat
Always move the front passenger seat into the rearmost position .
To avoid contact with the airbag while it is de­
ploying, do not sit any closer to the instru­
ment panel than necessary and always wear
the three-point safety belt provided adjusted
correctly . We recommend that you adjust the
passenger's seat in the following manner:
.. Bring the backrest up to an (almost) upright
pos it ion .
Do not ride with the seat reclined .
.. Adjust the head restraint so the upper edge
is as even as possible with the top of you r
head.
If that is not possible, try to adjust
the head restraint so that it is as close to
this position as possible ¢

.. Place your feet on the floor in front of the
passenger's seat.

If you do this while the veh icle is moving,
you will be out of position. Always adj ust
the dr iver's or front passenger's seat
when the vehicle is not mov ing.
- Be careful when adjusting the seat
height. Check to see that no one is in the
way, or ser ious injury could result!
- Because the seats can be electrically ad­
justed with the ignition off, never leave
children unattended in the veh icle. Unsu­
pe rvised use of the electric seat adjust­
ments may cause serious injury.
- To reduce the risk of injury in the case of
sudden braking or accident, front pas­
sengers must never rid e in a moving ve­
hicle with the backrest reclined. Safety
belts and the airbag system on ly offer
maximum protection when the backrest
is upright and the safety belts are prop­
erly positioned on the body. The more
the backrest is reclined, the greater the
risk of personal injury from an incorrect
seating position and improperly posi­
tioned safety belts.

- T he massage function switches off auto­
matically after approximately 10 mi­
nu tes.
- T he side bolsters* deflate when t he d riv­
er's door is opened. This allows you to
enter and exit comfortably. The side bol­
sters inflate again once you begin d riv­
ing .

Armrest
There is a storage compartment under the
armrest .

Adjusting the armrest
.. To adjust the angle, raise the armrest from
the starting position detent by detent.
.. To b ring the armrest back into its origina l
position, lift it above the top position and
then fold it back down.
Opening the storage compartment
.. Press the button -arrow- upward.
Please note that the driver's arm movements
may be restr icted w ith the armrest folded
down. For this reason, the armrest should not
be folded down when driving in city traffic.

Head restraints that ore adjusted according
to body size, along with th e seat belt, offer
effective protection.

Adjust the head restraint so the upper edge is

If that is not possible, try to adjust the head
restraint so that it is as close to this position
as possible. Move the head restraint so that it
is as close to the back of the head as possible .

Adjusting the he ad restr aint s
• To move the head restraint up, hold it at the
sides with both hands and slide it upward
until you feel it lock into place.
• To move the head restraint down, press the
button -ar row-

• Move the head restraint upward as far as it
can go.

• Slide the posts on the head restraint down
into the guides until you feel the posts lock

the head restraint all the way down . You
should not be able to pull the head restraint
out of the backrest.
So that the dr iver can have a better view to
the rear, the head restraints should be p ushed
down completely when the rear seats are not
occupied.
A WARNING
-- On ly remove the rear seat head restraints
when necessary in order to install a child
seat . Install the head restraint agai n im­
mediately once the child seat is removed.
Dr iving without head rest rain ts or wi th
head restra ints tha t a re no t properly ad­
justed increases the risk of ser ious or fa­
tal neck injury dramatically .

Seat memory
Description
Applies to vehicles: with memory function
The memory function allows you to quickly
and easily stor e and recall pe rsonal seati ng
profiles for the d river a nd front passenger *.
T he memory f un ction is opera ted th ro ugh the
mas ter key and the memory buttons in the
driver's/front passenger's* doors .
T he driver's seat ing profile is stored and as­
s igned to the master key ea ch time the vehicle
i s lo cked. The sea ting profile is rec alled au to­
matically when the vehicle is unlocked. If two
people use one vehicle, it is recommended
that each person always uses "their own" master key.
T wo sea ting profiles can be stored in each of
the d river's/front passenger's * doors. Once
stored, these seating profiles can be recalled
at any time.

WARNING
-For safety reasons, the seat setting
should only be recalled when the veh icle
is stationary -otherw ise you risk hav ing
an accident.
- If necessary, you stop the process by
press ing the
!OF F! button or any of the
memory buttons.

To avoid damaging the socket, only use
plugs that fit properly.
- Never connect equipment that generates
electrical current, such as a solar pane l
or battery charger, to the 12-vo lt socket.
This could damage the vehicle's electri­ cal system.
- The 12-vo lt socket should only be used
for a short period of ti me as a power
source for electrical equ ipment. Please
use the electr ical sockets in the vehicle
when con necting equ ipment for longer
periods.
- To avoid damaging the socket, only use
plugs that fit properly.

When the engine is off and accessories are
still plugged in and are on, the vehicle ba t­
tery can still be d rained.

- Use only soft cups in the cupholder . Hard
cups and glasses can cause in jury in an
acc ident.
- Never use the cupholder or adapter as an
ashtray- risk of f ire.
Q;) Note
On ly drink containers wi th lids should be
carried in the cupho lder. Liquid could spill
out and damage your vehicle's e lectronic
equ ipment or sta in the upholstery, etc.
Cooled glove compartment

The cooled glove compartment only functions
when the A/C system is switched on .

The glove compartment cooling mode only
funct ions when the vehicle A/C system is
switched on . If the heating is switched on,
switching the glove compa rtment coo lin g
mode off is recommended.
WARNING
Always leave the lid on the glove compar t­
ment cover closed while driving to reduce
the r isk of injury.
