Why does the brake pedal
pulsate slightly when
applying the brakes?This can occur when the ABS acti vates, and does not indicate a
problem. Apply firm, steady pre ssure on the brake pedal. Never
pump the brake pedal.
The rear door cannot be
opened from inside the
vehicle. Why?Check if the childproof lock is in the
lock position. If so, open the rear
door with the outside door handle.
To cancel this function, push the lever
to the unlock position.
Why do the doors lock
after I unlocked the doors
using a remote
transmitter?If you do not open the doors wi thin 30 seconds, the doors are
relocked automatica lly for security.

Side Curtain Airbags
The side curtain airbags help protect the h eads of the driver and passengers in outer
seating positions during a moderate-to-severe side impact.
The side curtain airbags are located in the
ceiling above the side windows on both sides
of the vehicle.
The side curtain airbag is designed to deploy
in a moderate-to-severe side impact.
■When side curtain airbags deploy in a frontal collision
One or both side curtain airbags may inflate in a moderate-to-severe angled
frontal collision.
In this case, the side curta in airbags will deploy slightly after the front airbags.
■Housing Locations

The side curtain airbags are most effective when an
occupant is wearing their seat belt properly and
sitting upright, well back in their seat.
Do not attach any objects to the side windows or roof
pillars as they can interfere with the proper operation
of the side curtain airbags.

Locking/Unlocking the Doors from the Inside
■Locking a door
Pull the lock tab rearward.

Push the lock tab forward.

When you lock the door using the lock tab on the
driver’s door, all the other doors, tailgate, and fuel fill
door lock at the same time.
When you unlock the door using the lock tab on the
driver’s door, only the driver’s door will unlock.

The front door inner handles are designed to allow
front seat occupants to open the door in one motion.
However this feature requires that front seat
occupants never pull a front door inner handle while
the vehicle is in motion.
Children should always ride in a rear seat where

Childproof Door Locks
The childproof door locks prevent the rear doors from being open ed from the inside
regardless of the position of the lock tab.
Slide the lever in the rear door to the lock
position, and close the door.
■When opening the door
Open the door using the outside door handle.
Auto Door Lock/Unlock
■Auto door lock
The auto door lock function automatically locks all the doors when the vehicle
reaches about 10 mph (15 km/h).

The driver's door unlocks when the shift lever is moved into
(P
with the brake
pedal depressed.

To open the door from the inside when the
childproof door lock is on, put the lock tab in the
unlock position, lower the rear window, put your
hand out of the window, and pull the outside door
handle.

Opening/Closing the Power Tailgate *
The power tailgate can be operated by pressing the power tailgate button on the
remote transmitter, pressing the power tail gate switch on the driver’s door, or
pressing the button on the tailgate.
■The power tailgate can be opened when:
• The tailgate is fully closed.
• The shift lever is in
(P
.
• Press and hold the tailgate button on the remote transmitter for about
one second.

f you have changed the power tailgate keyless open mode setting to when
unlocked, you need to unlock the tailgat e before you press the tailgate button
to open it.

• The tailgate is fully open.
• The shift lever is in

• Press and hold the tailgate button on the remote transmitter for about
one second.
1Opening/Closing the Power Tailgate *
The power tailgate may not open or close under the
following conditions:
•You start the engine while the tailgate is
automatically opening or closing.
•The vehicle is parked on a steep hill.•The vehicle is swayed in a strong wind.•The tailgate or the roof is covered with snow or ice.
If you close the power tailgate when all the doors are
locked, the power tailgate locks automatically.
If you replace the battery or the power tailgate fuse
while the tailgate is open, the power tailgate may be
disabled. The power tailgate resumes once you
manually close the tailgate.
Installing aftermarket components other than
genuine Acura accessories on the power tailgate may
prevent it from fully opening or closing.
Make sure the power tailgate is fully open before you
get your luggage in and out.
Make sure the power tailgate is fully closed before
you start the vehicle.
