Adjusting the Volume
Turn the MULTI KNOB to the left
to turn the volume down and to the
right to turn the volume up.
When songs or stations change
without any change in the volume,
carry out the operations above after
touching
[].
• Setting up the audio
Touch on [] to display the SOUND
SET TINGS MENU. (Refer to page
53).
Delete the Audio Screen
If you press [POWER], the display will
disappear and the screen will change
to black. If you press it again, the
source screen that is being selected
will be displayed. If the display does
not disappear, press [POWER] after
touching on [
].

Listening to a CD
You can listen to CDs using the
methods explained below.
CAUTION
Compact disc players use an
invisible laser beam which
could cause hazardous radiation
exposure if directed outside
the unit. Be sure to operate the
player correctly.
NOTICE
Never try to disassemble or oil
any part of the compact disc
player. Do not insert anything
except a compact disc into the
slot.
Use 1-c

m discs. Do not use
8-cm discs or an adapter for
8-cm discs.
During times of abnormal
temperatures, when an
abnormal energy source is
used, if abnormalities arise
during read-in, or if there is
some sort of abnormality with
the unit itself, the CD may
cease to playback, and you
also may not be able to switch
to another source. Remove the
CD to switch to another source.
Only one CD can be loaded.

Load a MP3/ WMA disc in the disc
slot.
The MP3/ WMA disc will begin to
play.

USB Portable Audio Player and
USB Memory Files
Touch [] to playback either an
MP3 disc, a WMA disc and USB
portable audio player or the USB
memory.
Selecting a File
Any of the methods described below
can be used to select files from an
MP3 disc, a WMA disc and USB
portable audio player or the USB
memory.
Selecting the previous/next file
Touch [
] to return to the begin-
ning of the file that is being played.
Touch [
] again to play the previ-
ous file.
Touch [
] to play the next file.

] to change the MULTI
KNOB to Tune/Scroll mode, then
turn MULTI KNOB to the left to
begin playback of the previous file.
Turning MULTI KNOB to the right will

Touch [Files] and then select the
song you want to listen to by touch-
ing on it.

USB Portable Audio Player and
USB Memory Files in Random
Order
Each time you touch [RAND], MP3,
WMA disc and USB portable audio
player and USB memory files are
played back as described below.
Normal playback d Files in the folder are
played in random order d All files on the

Repeating Files
Each time you touch [RPT], MP3,
WMA disc and USB portable audio
player/USB memory files are played
as described below.
Normal playback d Playback of files is

this is skipped.
Pausing Playback of Files
Touch on [] while the file is
playing. Touch it again and playback
resumes.

•Touch [] while the list is being
displayed and then after setting
the MULTI KNOB to Tune/Scroll
mode, turn MULTI KNOB to the left
to move the cursor to the previous
song. Turning MULTI KNOB to the
right will move the cursor to the next
song.
Press the POWER button to play the
song that has been selected.
• If the volume changes when you turn
the MULTI KNOB, touch

] and then go through the same
procedures.
Scrolling through the pages of the
list
Touch [
] while the list is being dis-
played to display the previous page.
Touch [
] while the list is being dis-
played to display the next page.
Returning from the list display to
the display for the file that is being
played
Touch [
]. Touch [] or [] when the names
of all the songs will not fit on the list
display to display letters in a scrolling
format.
