■The windshield wiper and washer can be operated when
The engine switch is in IGNITION ON mode.
■ Effects of vehicle speed on wiper operation (vehicles with rain-sensing
windshield wipers)
With low speed windshield wiper operat ion selected, wiper operation will be
switched from low speed to intermittent wiper operation only when the vehicle
is stationary.
■ Raindrop sensor (vehicles with ra in-sensing windshield wipers)
● If the wiper is turned to AUTO mode while the engine switch is in IGNITION
ON mode, the wipers will operate once to show that AUTO mode is acti-
vated.
● If the temperature of the raindrop sensor is 194°F (90°C) or higher, or
14°F (-10°C) or lower, automatic operation may not occur. In this case,
operate the wipers in any mode other than AUTO mode.
■ If no windshield washer fluid sprays
Check that the washer nozzles are not blocked if there is washer fluid in the
windshield washer fluid reservoir. ●The raindrop sensor judges the amount
of raindrops.
An optical sensor is adopted. It may not
operate properly when sunlight from the
rising or setting of the sun intermittently
strikes the windshield, or if bugs etc. are
present on the windshield.

When a tire is replaced with a spare tire
The compact spare tire is not equipped with a tire pressure warning valve
and transmitter. If a tire goes flat,
the tire pressure warning light will not
turn off even though the flat tire has been replaced with the spare tire.
Replace the spare tire with the repaired tire and adjust the tire inflation
pressure. The tire pressu re warning light will go off after a few minutes.
■Conditions that the tire pressure warning system may not function
properly
The tire pressure warning system will be disabled in the following condi-
tions:
(When the condition be comes normal, the system will work properly.)
●If tires not equipped with tire pressure warning valves and transmitters
are used
●If the ID code on the tire pressure warning valves and transmitters is not
registered in the tire pressure warning computer.
●If the tire inflation pressure is 73 psi (500 kPa, 5.1 kgf/cm2 or bar) or
higher
The tire pressure warning system may be disabled in the following condi-
tions:
(When the condition be comes normal, the system will work properly.)
●If electronic devices or facilities using similar radio wave frequencies are
nearby.
●If a radio set at a similar frequen cies is in use in the vehicle
●If a window tint that affects the radio wave signals is installed
●If there is a lot of snow or ice on the vehicle, particularly around the
wheels or wheel housings
●If non-genuine Toyota wheels are used. (Even if you use Toyota wheels,
the tire pressure warning system may not work properly with some types
of tires.)
●If tire chains are used
■If the tire pressure warning light frequently comes on after blinking
for 1 minute
If the tire pressure warning light frequently comes on after blinking for 1
minute when the engine switch is tu rned to IGNITION ON mode, have it
checked by your Toyota dealer.
■ Warning buzzer
In some cases, the buzzer may not be heard because of noisy place or an
audio sound.

●Did anyone inside the vehicle open a door during setting the
alarm?
The sensor detects it and the alarm sounds. (P. 68)
To stop the alarm, turn the engine switch to IGNITION ON
mode or start the engine.
●Is the electronic key left inside the vehicle or the moon roof
opened?
Check the message on the multi-information display.
●When a warning light turns on, refer to P. 387.
●When a warning message is displayed, perform the correction pro-
cedure appropriate to the message.
