system on the front passenger seat when
the airbag manual on-off switch is on.

serious injury to children in the event of
an accident.
There is a label(s) on the passenger side
sun visor, indicating it is forbidden to
attach a rear-facing child restraint system
to the front passenger seat.

ing can be used to support your
body while sitting on the seat.
The coat hooks are provided with
the rear assist grips.

Do not use the assist grip when getting in or out of the vehicle or rising from
your seat.
NOTICE
To prevent damage to the assist grip, do not put a heavy load on the assist grip.

curtain shield airbags deploy, these items may become projectiles, causing

Caring for leather areas
Lexus recommends cleaning the interior of the vehicle at least twice a year to
maintain the quality of the vehicle’s interior.
Shampooing the carpets
There are several commercial foaming-type cleaners available. Use a sponge or
brush to apply the foam. Rub in overlapping circles. Do not use water. Wipe dirty
surfaces and let them dry. Excellent results are obtained by keeping the carpet as
dry as possible.
Seat belts
Clean with mild soap and lukewarm water using a cloth or sponge. Also check
the belts periodically for excessive wear, fraying or cuts.
When cleaning the carpeted portions of the glove box, console box, etc.
If a strong adhesive tape is used, there is a possibility that the surface of the car-
pet could be damaged.
CAUTION
Water in the vehicle
Do not splash or spill liquid in the vehicle, such as on the floor, in the hybrid
battery (traction battery) air vents, and in the trunk.
Doing so may cause the hybrid battery, electrical components, etc. to mal-
function or catch fire.
Do not get any of the SRS components or wiring in the vehicle interior wet.

An electrical malfunction may cause the airbags to deploy or not function
properly, resulting in death or serious injury.
Cleaning the interior (especially instrument panel)
Do not use polish wax or polish cleaner. The instrument panel may reflect off
the windshield, obstructing the driver’s view and leading to an accident, result-
ing in death or serious injury.

SRS warning light
Indicates a malfunction in:
• The SRS airbag system; or
• The seat belt pretensioner system
Have the vehicle inspected by any authorized Lexus dealer
or repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped profes-
sional immediately.
ABS warning light
Indicates a malfunction in:
•The ABS; or
• The brake assist system
Have the vehicle inspected by any authorized Lexus dealer
or repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped profes-
sional immediately.
Electric power steering system warning light
Indicates a malfunction in the EPS (Electric Power Steering)
system
Have the vehicle inspected by any authorized Lexus dealer
or repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped profes-
sional immediately.

Pre-crash safety system warning light
Indicates a malfunction in the PCS (Pre-Crash Safety sys-
tem)
The warning light will operate as follows, even when the sys-
tem is not malfunctioning:
• The light will flash quickly when the system is operating.

• The light will turn on when the pre-crash safety system is
disabled. (P. 301)
• The light will turn on when the VSC (Vehicle Stability
Control) system is disabled. (P. 295)
• The light will flash when the system cannot temporarily be
used. (P. 523)
Have the vehicle inspected by any authorized Lexus dealer
or repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped profes-
sional immediately.
Slip indicator
Indicates a malfunction in:
• The VSC (Vehicle Stability Control) system;
• The TRC (Traction Control) system; or
• The hill-start assist control system
The light will flash when the VSC, the TRC or the ABS sys-
tem is operating.
Have the vehicle inspected by any authorized Lexus dealer
or repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped profes-
sional immediately.

Indicates that the vehicle is being driven at 5 km/h
(3 mph) or more with the parking brake still
engaged

Release the parking brake.
Indicates a malfunction in:
• The SRS airbag system; or

When trouble arises

CAUTION
When fixing the flat tire
Stop your vehicle in a safe and flat area.
Do not touch the wheels or the area around the brakes immediately after the
vehicle has been driven.
After the vehicle has been driven, the wheels and the area around the brakes
may be extremely hot. Touching these areas with hands, feet or other body
parts may result in burns.
Connect the valve and hose securely with the tire installed on the vehicle.
If the hose is not properly connected to the valve, air leakage may occur or
sealant may be sprayed out.
If the hose comes off the valve while inflating the tire, there is a risk that the
hose will move abruptly due to air pressure.
After inflation of the tire has completed, the sealant may splatter when the
hose is disconnected or some air is let out of the tire.
Follow the operation procedure to repair the tire. If the procedure is not fol-
lowed, the sealant may spray out.
Keep back from the tire while it is being repaired, as there is a chance of it
bursting while the repair operation is being performed. If you notice any
cracks or deformation of the tire, turn off the compressor switch and stop the
repair operation immediately.
The kit may overheat if operated for a long period of time. Do not operate the
compressor continuously for more than 10 minutes.
Parts of the kit become hot during operation. Be careful handling the kit
during and after operation.
Do not attach the vehicle speed warning sticker to an area other than the one
indicated. If the sticker is attached to an area where an SRS airbag is located,
such as the pad of the steering wheel, it may prevent the SRS air bag from
operating properly.
Driving to spread the liquid sealant evenly
Drive the vehicle carefully at a low speed. Be especially careful when turning
and cornering.
If the vehicle does not drive straight or you feel a pull through the steering
wheel, stop the vehicle and check the following:
• Tire condition. The tire may have separated from the wheel.
• Tire inflation pressure. If tire inflation pressure is 130 kPa (1.3 kgf/cm
2 or
bar, 19 psi) or below, this may indicate severe tire damage.
