Attach the air release cap to
the end of the hose.
If the air release cap is not
attached, the sealant may leak and
the vehicle may get dirty.
Store the bottle in the trunk while it is connected to the compres-
sor.
Taking precautions to avoid sudden braking, sudden acceleration
and sharp turns, drive carefully at under 80 km/h (50 mph) to any
authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and
equipped professional that is less than 100 km (62 miles) away
for tire repair or replacement.

Handling the emergency tire puncture repair kit
The repair kit power source should be 12 V DC suitable for vehicle use.
Do not connect the repair kit to any other source.
If gasoline splatters on the repair kit, the repair kit may deteriorate. Take
care not to allow gasoline to contact it.
Store the emergency tire puncture repair kit in the trunk.
The kit may be thrown around during sudden braking and so forth, dam-
aging the kit.
Store the repair kit in the trunk out of reach of children.
Do not disassemble or modify the repair kit. Do not subject parts such as
the air pressure indicator to impacts. This may cause a malfunction.
To avoid damage to the tire pressure warning valves and transmitters (vehi-
cles with the tire pressure warning system)
When a tire is repaired with liquid sealants, the tire pressure warning valve
and transmitter may not operate properly. If a liquid sealant is used, contact
any authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and
equipped professional or other qualified service shop as soon as possible.
Make sure to replace the tire pressure warning valve and transmitter when
replacing the tire. (P. 756)

Take out the parking brake
release tool and the screw-
driver from the trunk. (P.

Fit the parking brake release tool
into the screwdriver handle.
Vehicles with a spare tire: Take out the spare tire. (P. 875)
Vehicles without a spare tire: Remove the center auxiliary box.

Remove the plug.
Insert the tool and press it
down firmly while turning it
counterclockwise until it
stops.

If the electronic key does not operate properly

If communication between the electronic key and vehicle is inter-
rupted (P. 150) or the electronic key cannot be used because the
battery is depleted, the smart entry & start system and wireless
remote control cannot be used. In such cases, the doors and trunk
can be opened and the hybrid system can be started by following
the procedure below.

Trunk
Turn the mechanical key
clockwise to open.
Ensure that the shift lever is in P and depress the brake pedal.
Touch the Lexus emblem side
of the electronic key to the
power switch.
The power switch will turn to ON
mode.
When the smart entry & start sys-
tem is deactivated in customization
setting, the power switch will turn
to ACCESSORY mode.
Firmly depress the brake pedal and check that is shown on
the multi-information display.
Press the power switch.
In the event that the hybrid system still cannot be started, contact
any authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified
and equipped professional.

If the 12-volt battery is discharged
If you have a set of jumper (or booster) cables and a second vehicle
with a 12-volt battery, you can jump start your vehicle by following
the steps below.
Open the trunk lid and remove
the 12-volt battery cover.
In the event that the trunk opener
cannot be used, use the mechanical
key to open the trunk. (P. 910)
Connect the jumper cables according to the following procedure:
Positive (+) battery terminal on your vehicle
Positive (+) battery terminal on the second vehicle
Negative (-) battery terminal on the second vehicle
Negative (-) battery terminal on your vehicle
Start the engine of the second vehicle. Increase the engine speed
slightly and maintain at that level for approximately 5 minutes to
recharge the 12-volt battery of your vehicle.
The following procedures may be used to start the hybrid system if
the 12-volt battery is discharged.
You can also call any authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or
another duly qualified and equipped professional.
