Speedometer
The speedometer indicates the forward
speed of the vehicle.
The speedometer is calibrated in kilome-
ters per hour and/or miles per hour.
Tachometer
The tachometer indicates the approxi-
mate number of engine revolutions per
minute (rpm). Use the tachometer to select the correct
shift points and to prevent lugging and/or
over-revving the engine.
The tachometer pointer may move slight-
ly when the ignition switch is in ACC or
ON position with the engine OFF. This
movement is normal and will not affect
the accuracy of the tachometer once the
engine is running.

CAUTION
Do not operate the engine within
the tachometer's RED ZONE.
This may cause severe engine dam-age.

Tripmeter (km or mi.)
TRIP A: Tripmeter A
TRIP B: Tripmeter BThis mode indicates the distance of indi-
vidual trips selected since the last trip-meter reset.
The meter's working range is from 0.0 to 999.9 km (0.0 to 999.9 miles).
Pressing the TRIP button for more than 1
second, when the tripmeter (TRIP A or
TRIP B) is being displayed, clears the
tripmeter to zero (0.0).Tripmeter/Trip computer (if equipped)
The trip computer is a microcomputer-
controlled driver information system that
displays information related to driving,
such as tripmeter, distance to empty,
elapsed time, average fuel consumptionand instant fuel consumption on the dis-
play when the ignition switch is in the ON
position. All stored driving information
(except distance to empty and instant
fuel consumption) is reset if the battery isdisconnected. Press the TRIP button for less than 1
second to select any mode as follows:

Elapsed time (if equipped)
This mode indicates the total time trav-
eled since the last driving time reset.
Even if the vehicle is not in motion, the
driving time keeps going whilst the
engine is running.
The meter’s working range is from 0:00~99:59.
Pressing the TRIP button for more than 1
second, when the driving time is being
displayed, clears the driving time to zero(0:00).Warnings and indicators
All warning lights are checked by turning
the ignition switch ON (do not start the
engine). If any light that does not illumi-
nate, we recommend that the system be
checked by an authorised Kia dealer.
After starting the engine, check to make
sure that all warning lights are off. If anyare still on, this indicates a situation that
needs attention. When releasing the
parking brake, the brake system warning
light should go off. The fuel warning light
will stay on if the fuel level is low.
Air bag warning light
(if equipped)
This warning light will illuminate for
approximately 6 seconds each time you
turn the ignition switch to the ON posi-tion. This light also comes on when the
Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) is
not working properly. If the AIR BAG
warning light does not come on, or con-
tinuously remains on after operating for
about 6 seconds when you turned the
ignition switch to the ON position or start-
ed the engine, or if it comes on whilst
driving, we recommend that the system
be inspected by an authorised Kia deal-
er.
For information about the passenger’s
front air bag ON/OFF indicator, refer to
"Air bag - supplemental restraint system"in section 3.

Anti-lock brake system
(ABS) warning light (if equipped)
This warning light illuminates if the igni-
tion switch is turned to ON and goes off
in approximately 3 seconds if the system
is operating normally.
If the ABS warning light remains on,
comes on whilst driving, or does not
come on when the ignition switch is
turned to the ON position, this indicates
that the ABS may have malfunctioned.
If this occurs, we recommend to have the
system checked by an authorised Kia
dealer. The normal braking system will
still be operational, but without the assis-
tance of the anti-lock brake system. Electronic brake force distri-bution (EBD) system warninglight
If two warning lights illumi- nate at the same time whilst
driving, your vehicle may
have a malfunction with ABSand EBD system.
In this case, your ABS and regular brake
system may not work normally. We rec-
ommend that the system be checked by
an authorised Kia dealer.
Seat belt warning
As a reminder to the driver and passen-
ger, the seat belt warning light will blink
or illuminate for approximately 6 seconds
each time you turn the ignition switch ON
regardless of belt fastening.
For details, refer to the seat belt on chapter 3.
WARNING
If the both ABS and Brake warning
lights are on and stay on, your vehi-
cle’s brake system will not work
normally. So you may experience
an unexpected and dangerous situ-
ation during sudden braking. In this
case, avoid high speed driving and
abrupt braking. We recommend that
the system be checked by an autho-
rised Kia dealer.

Engine oil pressure warning
This warning light indicates the engine oil
pressure is low.
If the warning light illuminates whilst driv- ing:
1. Drive safely to the side of the road and stop.
2. With the engine off, check the engine oil level. If the level is low, add oil as required.
If the warning light remains on after
adding oil or if oil is not available, we rec-
ommend that you call an authorised Kia
dealer.
Turn signal indicator
The blinking green arrows on the instru-
ment panel show the direction indicated
by the turn signals. If the arrow comes on
but does not blink, blinks more rapidly
than normal, or does not illuminate at all,
it indicates a malfunction in the turn sig-
nal system. You should consult your deal-
er for repairs.
This indicator also blinks when the haz-
ard warning switch is turned on.
High beam indicator
This indicator illuminates when the head- lights are on and in the high beam posi-
tion or when the turn signal lever is pulled
into the Flash-to-Pass position.CAUTION
If the engine is not stopped imme- diately after the engine oil pressure
warning light is illuminated, severedamage could result.
CAUTION
If the oil pressure warning lightstays on whilst the engine is run-
ning, serious engine damage mayresult. The oil pressure warninglight comes on whenever there is insufficient oil pressure. In normal
operation, it should come on whenthe ignition switch is turned on, then go out when the engine is
started. If the oil pressure warning light stays on whilst the engine isrunning, there is a serious malfunc-tion.
If this happens, stop the car assoon as it is safe to do so, turn offthe engine and check the oil level. If the oil level is low, fill the engine oil
to the proper level and start the engine again. If the light stays onwith the engine running, turn theengine off immediately. In any
instance where the oil light stays onwhen the engine is running, we rec-ommend that the system be checked by an authorised Kia deal-
er.
