After the headlights automatically turn off with the
headlight switch in the
orposition,
the headlights will illuminate again if the headlight
switch is moved to the OFF position and then
turned to the
orposition.
CAUTION
Even though the battery saver feature au-
tomatically turns off the headlights after a
period of time, you should turn the head-
light switch to the OFF position when the
engine is not running to avoid discharging
the vehicle battery.
Headlight aiming control
Depending on the number of occupants in the
vehicle and the load it is carrying, the headlight
axis may be higher than desired. If the vehicle is
traveling on a hilly road, the headlights may di-
rectly hit the rearview mirror of the vehicle ahead
or the windshield of the oncoming vehicle. The
light axis can be lowered with the operation of the
switch.
The larger the number designated on the switch,
the lower the axis.
When traveling without a heavy load or on a flat
road, select position 0.
WARNING
Xenon headlights are extremely bright
compared to conventional headlights. If
the xenon headlights hit the rearview mir-
ror of the vehicle ahead or the windshield
of oncoming vehicle, the driver of these
vehicles may have difficulty driving be-
cause of the brightness. Use the headlight
aiming control switch to lower the light
axis. See “Xenon headlights” earlier in
this section for additional information.
DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT SYSTEM
(Canada only)
The daytime running lights automatically illumi-
nate when the engine is started with the parking
brake released. The daytime running lights oper-
ate with the headlight switch in the OFF position
or in the
position. Turn the headlight switch
to the
position for full illumination when
driving at night.
If the parking brake is applied before the engine is
started, the daytime running lights do not illumi-
nate. The daytime running lights illuminate when
the parking brake is released. The daytime run-
ning lights will remain on until the ignition switch
is placed in the OFF position.

●On roads where there are sharply contrast-
ing objects, such as shadows, snow, water,
wheel ruts, seams or lines remaining after
road repairs. (The LDW system could detect
these items as lane markers.)
● On roads where the traveling lane merges or
separates.
● When the vehicle’s traveling direction does
not align with the lane marker.
● When traveling close to the vehicle in front of
you, which obstructs the lane camera unit
detection range.
● When rain, snow or dirt adheres to the wind-
shield in front of the lane camera unit.
● When the headlights are not bright due to
dirt on the lens or if the aiming is not adjusted
properly.
● When strong light enters the lane camera
unit. (For example, the light directly shines on
the front of the vehicle at sunrise or sunset.)
● When a sudden change in brightness oc-
curs. (For example, when the vehicle enters
or exits a tunnel or under a bridge.)
LDW system operation
The LDW system provides a lane departure
warning function when the vehicle is driven at
speeds of approximately 45 MPH (70 km/h) and
above. When the vehicle approaches either the
left or the right side of the traveling lane, a warn-
ing chime will sound and the Lane departure
warning indicator light on the instrument panel
will blink to alert the driver.
The warning function will stop when the vehicle
returns inside of the lane markers. How to enable/disable the LDW system
Perform the following steps to enable or disable
the LDW system.
1. Press the
button until “Settings” dis-
plays in the vehicle information display. Use
the
to select “Driver Assistance”.
Then press the ENTER button.
2. Select “Driver Aids”, and press the ENTER button.
3. To set the LDW system to on or off, use the
buttons to navigate in the menu
and use the ENTER button to select or
change an item:
● Select “Lane” and press the ENTER but-
ton.
– To turn on the warning, use the ENTER button to check box for “Warning (LDW)”
– To turn on the system, use the ENTER button to check box for “Assistance
(LDP)”

●If LDP system warning light (orange)
illuminates in the display, pull off the
road to a safe location and stop the
vehicle. Turn the engine off and restart
the engine. If the LDP system warning
light (orange) continues to illuminate,
have the LDP system checked by an
INFINITI retailer.
● Excessive noise will interfere with the
warning chime sound, and the chime
may not be heard.
The functions of the LDP system (warning and
brake control assist) may or may not operate
properly under the following conditions: ● On roads where there are multiple parallel
lane markers; lane markers that are faded or
not painted clearly; yellow painted lane
markers; non-standard lane markers; or lane
markers covered with water, dirt, snow, etc.
● On roads where discontinued lane markers
are still detectable.
● On roads where there are sharp curves.
● On roads where there are sharply contrast-
ing objects, such as shadows, snow, water,
wheel ruts, seams or lines remaining after
road repairs. (The LDP system could detect
these items as lane markers.) ●
On roads where the traveling lane merges or
separates.
● When the vehicle’s traveling direction does
not align with the lane marker.
● When traveling close to the vehicle in front of
you, which obstructs the lane camera unit
detection range.
● When rain, snow or dirt adheres to the wind-
shield in front of the lane camera unit.
● When the headlights are not bright due to
dirt on the lens or if the aiming is not adjusted

While the LDP system is operating, you may hear
a sound of brake operation. This is normal and
indicates that the LDP system is operating prop-
erly.
LDP system operation
The LDP system provides a lane departure warn-
ing and brake control assistance when the ve-
hicle is driven at speeds of approximately
45 MPH (70 km/h) and above. When the vehicle
approaches either the left or the right side of the
traveling lane, a warning chime will sound and the
Lane departure warning indicator light on the
instrument panel will blink to alert the driver.
Then, the LDP system will automatically apply the
brakes for a short period of time to help assist the
driver to return the vehicle to the center of the
traveling lane.

– When driving on slippery roads, such as on ice or snow, etc.
– When driving on winding or uneven roads.
– When there is a lane closure due to road repairs.
– When driving in a makeshift lane.
– When driving on roads where the lane width is too narrow.
● Do not use the BSI systems under the
following conditions because the sys-
tem may not function properly.
– When driving with a tire that is not within normal tire conditions (e.g.
tire wear, low tire pressure, installa-
tion of spare tire, tire chains, non-
standard wheels) . – When the vehicle is equipped with
non-original brake parts or suspen-
sion parts.
● Do not use the BSI systems when tow-
ing a trailer.
● Excessive noise (e.g. audio system vol-
ume, open vehicle window) will inter-
fere with the chime sound, and it may
not be heard.
