Gasoline containing alcohol and
methanol
Gasohol, a mixture of gasoline and
ethanol (also known as grain alcohol),and gasoline or gasohol containing
methanol (also known as wood alcohol)
are being marketed along with or instead
of leaded gasoline. Do not use gasohol containing more than 10% ethanol, and do not use gasoline or
gasohol containing any methanol. Either
of these fuels may cause drivability prob-lems and damage to the fuel system.
Discontinue using gasohol of any kind if
drivability problems occur.
Vehicle damage or drivability problems
may not be covered by the manufactur-
er’s warranty if they result from the useof:
1. Gasohol containing more than 10% ethanol.
2. Gasoline or gasohol containing methanol.
3. Leaded fuel or leaded gasohol.
Use of MTBE
HYUNDAI recommends avoiding fuels
containing MTBE (Methyl Tertiary Butyl
Ether) over 15.0% vol. (Oxygen Content
2.7% weight) in your vehicle.
Fuel containing MTBE over 15.0% vol.
(Oxygen Content 2.7% weight) may
reduce vehicle performance and produce
vapor lock or hard starting.
Do not use methanol
Fuels containing methanol (wood alco-
hol) should not be used in your vehicle.
This type of fuel can reduce vehicle per-
formance and damage components ofthe fuel system.
Fuel Additives
HYUNDAI recommends that you use good quality gasolines meet Europe Fuel
standards (EN228) or equivalents.
For customers who do not use good
quality gasolines including fuel additives
regularly, and have problems starting or
the engine does not run smoothly, one
bottle of additives added to the fuel tank
at every 15,000km (for Europe)/ 5,000km
(except Europe). Additives are available
from your authorized HYUNDAI dealer
along with information on how to use
them. Do not mix other additives.
Operation in foreign countries
If you are going to drive your vehicle in
another country, be sure to:
Observe all regulations regarding reg- istration and insurance.
Determine that acceptable fuel is avail- able.
CAUTION
Your New Vehicle Limited Warranty
may not cover damage to the fuel system and any performance prob- lems that are caused by the use offuels containing methanol or fuels
containing MTBE (Methyl TertiaryButyl Ether) over 15.0% vol.(Oxygen Content 2.7% weight.)
CAUTION
Never use gasohol which containsmethanol. Discontinue use of any
gasohol product which impairs dri- vability.

The seat warmer defaults to the OFF
position whenever the ignition switch is
turned on.
✽✽ NOTICE
With the seat warmer switch in the ON position, the heating system in the seat
turns off or on automatically depending
on the seat temperature.
Seatback pocket
The seatback pocket is provided on the
back of the front passenger’s and driver’s
seatbacks.
WARNING - Seat warmer
burns
Passengers should use extreme
caution when using seat warmers
due to the possibility of excess
heating or burns. The occupants
must be able to feel if the seat isbecoming too warm and to turn the
seat warmer off. The seat warmer
may cause burns even at low tem-
peratures, especially if used for
long periods of time.
In particular, the driver must exer-
cise extreme care for the following
types of passengers:
1. Infants, children, elderly or dis- abled persons, or hospital outpa- tients
2. Persons with sensitive skin or those that burn easily
3. Fatigued individuals
4. Intoxicated individuals
5. Individuals taking medication that can cause drowsiness or
sleepiness (sleeping pills, cold
tablets, etc.)
CAUTION
When cleaning the seats, do not
use an organic solvent such as
paint thinner, benzene, alcoholand gasoline. Doing so may dam-age the surface of the heater or seats.
To prevent overheating the seat warmer, do not place anything onthe seats that insulates againstheat, such as blankets, cushionsor seat covers while the seat
warmer is in operation.
Do not place heavy or sharp objects on seats equipped withseat warmers. Damage to the seatwarming components could occur.OBK032066
WARNING - Seatback
pockets
Do not put heavy or sharp objects
in the seatback pockets. In an acci-
dent they could come loose from
the pocket and injure vehicle occu-pants.

Emergency fuel filler lid release If the fuel filler lid does not open using
the remote fuel filler lid release, you can
open it manually by pulling the handle
outward slightly.
(Continued)
When refueling, always shut the
engine off. Sparks produced by electrical components related to
the engine can ignite fuel vapors
causing a fire. Once refueling is
complete, check to make sure thefiller cap and filler door are
securely closed, before starting
the engine.
DO NOT use matches or a lighter and DO NOT SMOKE or leave a lit
cigarette in your vehicle while at
a gas station especially during
refueling. Automotive fuel is
highly flammable and can, when
ignited, result in fire.
If a fire breaks out during refuel- ing, leave the vicinity of the vehi-
cle, and immediately contact the
manager of the gas station and
then contact the local fire depart-
ment. Follow any safety instruc-
tions they provide.CAUTION
Make sure to refuel your vehicle
according to the “Fuel require-
ments” suggested in section 1.
If the fuel filler cap requires replacement, please make surethat you use parts designed for
replacement in your vehicle. An incorrect fuel filler cap can resultin a serious malfunction of thefuel system or emission control
system. For more detailed infor-mation, we recommend that you contact an authorized HYUNDAIdealer.
Do not spill fuel on the exterior surfaces of the vehicle. Any typeof fuel spilled on painted surfacesmay damage the paint.
After refueling, make sure the fuel cap is installed securely to pre-
vent fuel spillage in the event ofan accident.
CAUTION
Do not pull the handle excessively, otherwise the luggage area trim or release handle may be damaged.

The rear parking assist system assists
the driver during backward movement of
the vehicle by chiming if any object issensed within a distance of 120 cm (47
in.) behind the vehicle. This system is asupplemental system and it is not intend-
ed to nor does it replace the need for
extreme care and attention of the driver.
The sensing range and objects
detectable by the back sensors are limit-
ed. Whenever backing-up, pay as much
attention to what is behind you as you
would in a vehicle without a rear parkingassist system. Operation of the rear parking assist system
Operating condition
This system will activate when backing
up with the ignition switch ON.
If the vehicle is moving at a speed over
10 km/h (6.2 mph), the system may not
be activated correctly.
The sensing distance while the rear parking assist system is in operation is
approximately 120 cm (47 in.).
When more than two objects are sensed at the same time, the closest
one will be recognized first.
Types of warning sound
When an object is 120 cm to 61 cm (47in. to 24 in.) from the rear bumper:
Buzzer beeps intermittently.
When an object is 60 cm to 31 cm (23.6 in. to 12.2 in.) from the rear
bumper: Buzzer beeps more frequent-
ly.
When an object is within 30 cm (11.8 in.) of the rear bumper:
Buzzer sounds continuously.

WARNING
The rear parking assist system is a
supplementary function only. Theoperation of the rear parking assist
system can be affected by several
factors (including environmental
conditions). It is the responsibility
of the driver to always check the
area behind the vehicle before and
while backing up.

PARKING ASSIST SYSTEM (IF EQUIPPED)
The parking assist system assists the

detectable by the sensors are limited.
Whenever moving pay as much attention
to what is in front and behind of you as
you would in a vehicle without a parkingassist system.
The front parking assist system has
2sensors on the front bumper. These 2
sensors can detect right and left side
area. It means the front parking assistsystem can not detect the center area of
the front bumper.
