The fabric upholstery of your car has
been designed to withstand wear
deriving from common use of the car.You
are however recommended to avoid strong
and/or continuous scratching with clothing
accessories such as metal buckles, studs,Velcro
fastenings and the like, as these items cause
stress of the cover fabric that could lead to yarn
breaking and damage the upholstery.Once you have released the adjustment
lever, always check that the seat is
locked on the guides by trying to move it
back and for th. If the seat is not locked into
place, it may unexpectedly slide and cause the
driver to lose control of the car.
(for versions/markets, where provided)
Adjustment fig. 30 is possible with the ignition key
at MAR-ON position or for one minute with the
ignition key in STOP position or extracted.
When the front doors are opened the seat on the
side of the door that has been opened can be
moved for about 3 minutes or until the door is
closed. The controls for seat adjustment are:

HEAD RESTRAINTSFRONT
These are height-adjustable and lock into place
automatically.
❒Upward adjustment: lift the head restraint until it
clicks into place.
❒Downward adjustment: press button A fig. 32
and lower the head restraint.
On some versions the front head restraints are
equipped with an “Anti-Whiplash” device, which
reduces the distance between head and head
restraint in the event of a rear shunt, thus
mitigating the “whiplash” effect.
The “Anti-Whiplash” type front head restraints may
move when the backrest is pressed by the
occupant's torso or hand. This behaviour is caused
by the system and should not be considered a
malfunction.
WARNING
Head restraints must be adjusted so
that the head, rather than the neck,
rests on them. Only when they are adjusted in
this manner can they serve their intended
purpose.

WARNING
Never press button C fig. 117 when
travelling.
IMPORTANT The backrest is correctly secured
when the red band B fig. 119 to the side of backrest
folding handle A disappears. This red band indicates
that the backrest is not secured.
IMPORTANT Remember that after a violent
impact, rear-seat passengers who are not wearing
their seat belts not only expose themselves to
significant risk for injury, but also represent a
danger to passengers occupying the front seats.
IMPORTANT When putting the rear seat back in
its normal position, make sure that the seat belts
are positioned so that they are ready to use.
WARNING
Make sure that the backrest is
correctly secured on both sides (red
bands B fig. 119 not visible) to prevent it from
moving forward in the event of sharp braking,
causing injuries to passengers.
ADJUSTING THE FRONT SEAT BELT

(for versions/markets, where provided)
The height can be adjusted to 4 different positions.

Correct adjustment is obtained when the belt
passes approximately half way between the
shoulder and the neck.
WARNING
Make height adjustment of the seat
belts when the car is stationary.
WARNING
After adjustment , always check that
the cursor to which the ring is fastened
is locked in one of the preset positions. To do
this, with the button A fig. 120 released, exer t
a fur ther pressure to allow the anchor device
to catch if release did not take place at one of
the preset positions.
SBR SYSTEMThe vehicle is equipped with an SBR system (Seat
Belt Reminder) made up of a buzzer which,
together with the warning light
in the instrument
panel flashing, warns the driver and, on some
versions, the front passenger that their seat belt is
not fastened.
To permanently deactivate the buzzer, seek
assistance from a Fiat Dealership.
With a multifunction display, the SBR system can be
reactivated only at a Fiat Dealership.
With a reconfigurable multifunction display, the SBR
system can also be re-enabled through the setup
menu.

All child restraint devices must bear the
certification data, together with the control mark,
on a label solidly fixed to the seat which must never
be removed.
Over 1.50 m in height, from the point of view of
restraint systems, children are considered as adults
and wear the seat belts normally.
Lineaccessori Fiat offers child restraint systems for
each weight group. These devices are
recommended, since they are specifically designed
and tested for Fiat cars.
WARNING
Do not place a cradle seat facing
backwards on the front seat if the
passenger side airbags are enabled.
Deployment of the airbag in an accident could
cause fatal injuries to the baby regardless of
the severity of the collision. It is advisable
to always carr y children in a child seat on the
rear seat , which is the most protected position
in the event of a collision.
WARNING
SERIOUS DANGER: if you need to
carr y a child on the front passenger
seat in a cradle seat facing backwards,
the passenger side airbags (front and
side bags for chest/pelvis protection for
versions/markets, where provided) must be
deactivated using the setup menu. It is
important to check the performed
deactivation of the warning light on the
instrument panel. The passenger seat must also
be positioned back as far as possible in order
to avoid the child seat from coming into
contact with the dashboard.
