Tire Pressure Monitor
This vehicle may have a Tire
Pressure Monitor System (TPMS).
The low tire pressure warning light
alerts to a significant loss in
pressure of one of the vehicle's
tires. If the warning light comes on,
stop as soon as possible and inflate
the tires to the recommended
pressure shown on the Tire and
Loading Information label. See
Vehicle Load Limits on page 9‑10.
The warning light will remain on until
the tire pressure is corrected.
The low tire pressure warning light
may come on in cool weather when
the vehicle is first started, and then
turn off as the vehicle is driven. This
may be an early indicator that thetire pressures are getting low and
the tires need to be inflated to the
proper pressure.
The TPMS does not replace normal
monthly tire maintenance. Maintain
the correct tire pressures.
See
Tire Pressure Monitor System
on page 10‑68.
Tire Sealant and
Compressor Kit
This vehicle may come with a spare
tire and tire changing equipment or
a tire sealant and compressor kit.
The kit can be used to temporarily
seal small punctures in the tread
area of the tire. See Tire Sealant
and Compressor Kit on page 10‑82.
If the vehicle came with a spare tire
and tire changing equipment, see If
a Tire Goes Flat on page 10‑80.

opened, a chime will sound three
times indicating that delayed locking
is active.
When all the doors are closed, the
doors will lock automatically after
five seconds. If a door is reopened
before five seconds have elapsed,
the five second timer will reset itself
once all the doors are closed again.
You can press the door lock switch
again or the lock button on the RKE
transmitter to override this feature
and lock the doors immediately.
Automatic Door Locks
For vehicles with an automatic
transmission, the doors will lock
automatically when all doors are
closed, the ignition is on, and the
shift lever is moved out of P (Park).
The doors will automatically unlock
when the vehicle is stopped and the
shift lever is moved into P (Park).
For vehicles with a manual
transmission, the doors will lock
automatically after the vehicle
speed reaches 8 km/h (5 mph). The
doors will automatically unlock when
the key is turned off and removed
from the ignition.
Use the manual or power door locks

5-14 Instruments and Controls
The FUEL LEVEL LOW message
appears in the Driver Information
Center (DIC) and a single chime
sounds. SeeFuel System
Messages on page 5‑36 for more
information.
Normal operation of the fuel gauge
includes:
.At the service station, the fuel
pump shuts off before the gauge
reads full.
.It takes a little more or less fuel
to fill up than the gauge
indicated.
.The gauge moves a little while
turning a corner or speeding up.
.The gauge takes a few seconds
to stabilize after the ignition is
turned on, and goes back to
empty when the ignition is
turned off.
Boost Gauge
Metric
English For the CTS-V, this gauge is in the
instrument cluster.
This gauge indicates positive
manifold pressure, which is the
induction air pressure level in the
intake manifold before it enters the
combustion chamber. This gauge
reads zero under light throttle before
boost is generated.
The gauge automatically resets to
zero every time the engine is
started.

Antilock Brake System
(ABS) Warning Light
The Antilock Brake System (ABS),
this light comes on briefly when the
engine is started.
If the light does not come on, have it
fixed so it will be ready to warn if
there is a problem.
If the ABS light stays on, turn the
ignition off. If the light comes on
while driving, stop as soon as it is
safely possible and turn the ignition
off. A chime may also sound when
the light comes on steady. If this
happens, start the engine again to
reset the system. If the ABS light
stays on, or comes on again while driving, the vehicle needs service.
If the regular brake system warning
light is not on, the vehicle still has
brakes, but not antilock brakes.
If the regular brake system warning
light is also on, the vehicle does not
have antilock brakes and there is a
problem with the regular brakes.
See
Brake System Warning Light on
page 5‑22.
For vehicles with a Driver
Information Center (DIC), see Driver
Information Center (DIC) on
page 5‑27 for all brake-related DIC
messages.
Up-Shift Light
The vehicle may have an up-shift
light. It indicates when to shift to the
next higher gear for best fuel
economy. See
Manual Transmission on
page 9‑29 for more information.
For the CTS-V, the tracer lights
function as a performance up-shift
light.
The tracers flash to indicate when to
shift to the next higher gear to avoid
the engine speed limit. See
Automatic Transmission on
page 9‑25 orManual Transmission
on page 9‑29 for more information.
StabiliTrak®OFF Light
This light comes on briefly while
starting the engine. If it does not,
