Switching off
On the outside, the welcome lighting
switches off automatically after a set
time, when the ignition is switched on
or on locking the vehicle.
On the inside, the welcome lighting
switches off automatically after a pre-
determined time or on opening one of
the doors. On the inside, the footwell and courtesy
lamps come on.
WELCOME LIGHTING
Switching on
Press the open padlock on
the remote control; your ve-
hicle is unlocked. The remote switching on of the pas-
senger compartment lighting makes
your access to the vehicle easier in
poor light. It is activated depending on
the light level detected by the sunshine
sensor.
On the outside, the sidelamps and
dipped beam headlamps, as well as the
side spotlamps, located under the door
mirrors, come on.
Programming
Activation or deactivation, as
well as the duration of the light-
ing duration for the exterior
welcome lighting can be set via
the vehicle confi guration menu.

AUTOMATIC ADJUSTMENT OF
XENON HEADLAMPS
This system adjusts the height of the xe-
non headlamp beams automatically and
when stationary, according to the load in
the vehicle, so as to avoid causing a nui-
sance to other road user.
If a malfunction occurs, this
warning lamp is displayed
in the instrument panel, ac-
companied by an audible signal and a
message in the screen.
The system then places your headlam-
ps in the lowest position.
Do not touch the xenon bulbs.
Contact a CITROËN dealer or a
qualifi ed workshop.

DIRECTIONAL LIGHTING
Programming
with directional lighting
without directional lighting
When the dipped or main beam head-
lamps are on, this function, allows the
light beams to better follow the road.
The use of this function, coupled with
the xenon headlamps and the corner-
ing lighting, considerably improves the
quality of your lighting round bends.
Operating fault
If a fault occurs, this warning
lamp fl ashes in the instrument
panel, accompanied by a mes-
sage in the screen.
Contact a CITROËN dealer or a quali-
fi ed workshop.
This function is inactive:
- when stationary or at low speeds,
- when reverse is engaged.
The system is activated or de-
activated in the vehicle confi gu-
ration menu.
The system is activated by de-
fault.
The state of the system stays in memory
on switching off the ignition.

Automatic rain sensitive
windscreen wipers
The windscreen wipers operate automat-
ically, without any action on the part of
the driver, if rain is detected (sensor be-
hind the rear view mirror), adapting their
speed to the intensity of the rainfall.

the instrument panel and an activation

If an automatic rain sensitive wiper mal-
function occurs, the wipers will operate
in intermittent mode.
Contact a CITROËN dealer or a quali-
fi ed workshop.
Do not cover the rain sensor,
linked with the sunshine sensor
and located in the centre of the
windscreen behind the rear view
mirror.
Switch off the automatic rain
sensitive wipers when using an
automatic car wash.
In winter, it is advisable to wait
until the windscreen is completely
clear of ice before activating the
automatic rain sensitive wipers.
The automatic rain sensitive
windscreen wipers must be re-
activated if the ignition has been
off for more than one minute.

Windscreen and headlamp
wash
Low screenwash / headlamp wash
fl uid level
On vehicle fi tted with headlamp wash-
ers, the low level of this fl uid is indicat-
ed by gauge in the reservoir fi ller neck
under the bonnet.
Checking and topping up this fl uid can
should be done with the engine off.
The level of this fl uid should be checked
regularly, particularly during winter.
Refer to "Checks - Screenwash / head-
lamp wash level" section for the proce-
dure on checking the level.
Pull the windscreen wiper stalk to-
wards you. The windscreen wash
then the windscreen wipers operate
for a fi xed period.
The headlamp washers only operate
when the dipped or main beam head-
lamps are on
, with the vehicle moving

To reduce the consumption of
the fl uid by the headlamp wash-
ers, they operate only with every
seventh use of the screenwash
or every 25 miles (40 km) during
a given journey.

Used products
Avoid prolonged contact of used
oil or fl uids with the skin.
Most of these fl uids are harmful
to health or indeed very corro-
sive.
Do not discard used oil or fl uids
into sewers or onto the ground.
Take used oil to a CITROËN
dealer or a qualifi ed workshop
(France) or to an authorised
waste disposal site.
Additive level (Diesel with
particle emissions filter)
The additive reservoir low level is indi-
cated by:
Topping up
The reservoir must be topped up with-
out delay by a CITROËN dealer or a
qualifi ed workshop.
- fi xed illumination of the par-
ticle emissions fi lter warning
lamp, accompanied by an au-
dible signal and a message
that the particle emissions
fi lter additive level is too low.
Screenwash / headlamp wash
fluid level
Specifi cation of the fl uid
To ensure optimum cleaning and to
avoid freezing, the fl uid should never be
topped up or replaced by plain water.
In wintry conditions, the use of a fl uid
with an ethyl alcohol or methanol base
is recommended.
To check the level or top up
the fl uid on vehicle fi tted with
headlamp washers, immobilise
the vehicle and switch of the
engine.
Open the bonnet and secure it with
the stay.
Open the screenwash reservoir fi ll-
er cap.
Take and pinch the level gauge to
block its breather.
Remove the gauge completely from
the reservoir to read the level in the
transparent section.
Top up if necessary.
Refi t the fi ller cap to the reservoir
and close the bonnet.

CHANGING A BULB
The headlamps are fi tted with
polycarbonate glass with a pro-
tective coating:
do not clean them using a
dry or abrasive cloth, nor
with a detergent or solvent
product,
use a sponge and soapy wa-
ter or a pH neutral product,
when using a high pressure
washer on persistent marks,
do not keep the lance direct-
ed towards the lamps or their
edges for too long, so as not
to damage their protective
coating and seals.
Changing a bulb should only be
done after the headlamp has
been switched off for a few min-
utes (risk of serious burns).
Do not touch the bulb directly
with your fi ngers, use a lint-
free cloth.
It is imperative to use only anti-
ultraviolet (UV) type bulbs to
avoid damaging the headlamp.
Always replace a failed bulb with
a new bulb with the same type
and specifi cation.
Risk of electrocution
Xenon bulbs (D1S-35W) must
be replaced by a CITROËN
dealer or a qualifi ed workshop.
