sembly The spring preload can be adjusted to suit the rid-
er’s weight and the riding conditions.NOTICEECB01090Never turn the adjusting mechanism beyond
the minimum and maximum settings.Adjust the spring preload as follows.
1. Remove the seat. (See page 4-12.)
2. Disconnect the hose, and then remove the hose joint from the air filter case. 3. Disconnect the hose from the air intake duct,
and then loosen the clamp screw at the carbu-
retor side.
Spring preload setting:

Standard: 2
Maximum (hard): 5

Front brake
Check operation. If soft or spongy, have Yamaha dealer bleed hy-
draulic system.
Check brake pads for wear, and replace if necessary.
Check brake fluid level in reservoir, and add specified brake fluid to
specified level if necessary.
Check hydraulic system for leakage. Correct if necessary. 5-4, 8-32, 8-33, 8-36
Rear brake

After riding your ATV in water, be sure to drain the
trapped water by removing the check hose at the
bottom of the air filter case. NOTICE: Undrained
water can cause damage or improper opera-

Wash the ATV in fresh water if it has been operat-
