When driving

The meters and display illuminate when
The engine switch is in the “ON” position.
The brightness of the instrument panel lights
When the headlight switch is turned to on, the brightness will be reduced
slightly unless the control dial is turned fully clockwise.
When disconnecting and reconnecting battery terminals
The trip meter data will be reset.
NOTICE
To prevent damage to the engine and its components
Do not let the indicator needle of the tachometer enter the red zone, which
indicates the maximum engine speed.
The engine may be overheating if the engine coolant temperature gauge is
in the red zone (H). In this case, immediately stop the vehicle in a safe
place, and check the engine after it has cooled completely. (P. 584)

Adjusting the settings
To adjust the fan speed, turn the fan speed control dial the
clockwise (increase) or the counterclockwise (decrease).
Set the dial to “OFF” turns off the fan.
To adjust the temperature setting, turn the temperature control
dial clockwise (warm) or counterclockwise (cool).
If the “A/C” button is not pressed, the system will blow ambient tem-
perature air or heated air. (if equipped)
To select the air outlets, set the air outlet selection dial to the
desired position.
The positions between the air outlet selections shown below can
also be selected for more delicate adjustment.
Defogging the windshield
Set the air outlet selection dial to
position.
Set the outside/recirculated air
mode lever to outside mode if
recirculated air mode is used.
Perform the following operations accordingly:
To adjust the fan speed, turn the fan speed control dial.
To adjust the temperature setting, turn the temperature con-
trol dial.
If the dehumidification function is not operating, press the
“A/C” button to operate the dehumidification function.
To defog the windshield and the side windows early, turn the
air flow and temperature up.

If the direction display on the
compass flashes, circling calibra-
tion needs to be performed.
Stop the vehicle in a place where it is safe to drive in a circle.
Press and hold the “INFO.” or
“DISP” button until a number (1
to 15) appears on the clock, and
press the “RESET” button.
“- N -” appears on the direction
display.
Drive the vehicle at 8 km/h (5
mph) or less in a circle until a
direction is displayed.
If there is not enough space to
drive in a circle, drive around the
block until a direction is dis-
played.
