Headlight cleaner switch∗

■The headlight cleaners can be operated when
The “ENGINE START STOP” switch is in IGNITION ON mode and the headlight
switch is turned on.
■Windshield washer linked operation
When the windshield washer is operated with the “ENGINE START STOP” switch
in IGNITION ON mode and the headlights on, the headlight cleaners will operate
once. ( →P. 2 3 6 )
NOTICE
■When the washer fluid tank is empty
Do not press the switch continually as the washer fluid pump may overheat.
Washer fluid can be sprayed on the headlights.
Press the switch to clean the
headlights.

NOTICE
■In the following situations, the LDA will not work, or will not perform reliably
●When the lane markers are interrupted or are not present, such as before a toll-
booth.
●When the lane markers are only on one side of the road.
●When driving on a sharp curve.
●When lanes are extremely narrow or extremely wide.
●When the vehicle leans to one side an unusual amount due to a heavy load or
improper tire inflation pressure.
●When the following distance between your vehicle and the vehicle ahead is
extremely short.
●When the lane markers are broken or when “Botts’ dots” or “Raised pavement
markers” can be seen.
●When the lane markers are obscured or partially obscured by sand, dirt, etc.
●When driving on a particularly bright road surface, such as concrete.
●When driving on a road surface that is bright due to reflected light.
●When driving in a location where the light level changes rapidly, such as the
entrance to or exit from a tunnel.
●When sunlight or the headlights of oncoming vehicles are shining directly into the
camera lens.
●When pavement lane markers are difficult to see due to rain, snow, fog, etc.
●When driving on a road surface that is wet due to rain, standing water, etc.
●When the vehicle experiences strong up-and-down motion such as when driving
on an extremely rough road or on a seam in the pavement.
●When driving on roads that are branching or merging.
●When headlight brightness is reduced due to dirt on the lenses, or when the
headlights are misaligned.

■Rear view monitor camera
■When the back door is open
The screen cannot be used because a message is displayed.
When backing up the vehicle, make sure the back door is securely closed.The rear view monitor camera is located on
the back door as shown in the illustration. The
camera uses a special lens. The distance of
the image that appears on the screen differs
from the actual distance.
In the following cases, it may be difficult to
see images on the screen even when the sys-
tem is functioning correctly:
●The vehicle is in a dark area, such as at
night.
●The temperature near the lens is extremely
high or low.
●Water droplets are on the camera lens or
humidity is high, such as when it rains.
●Foreign matter, such as snow and mud,
adheres to the camera lens.
●The camera has scratches or dirt on it.
●The sun or headlights are shining directly
into the camera lens.

In the following cases, it may be difficult to see images on the screen even when the

In the following cases, it may be difficult to see images on the screen even when the
system is functioning correctly:
●The vehicle is in a dark area, such as at night.

■The power outlet can be used when
The “ENGINE START STOP” switch is in IGNITION ON mode.
■The protection circuit may be activated to cut the power supply if any of the fol-
lowing conditions apply:
●Use of electrical appliances exceeding 100 W is attempted.
A sound may be heard when the protection circuit is activated. This is normal
and does not indicate a malfunction.
●The total power usage by all electrical features (headlights, air conditioning,
etc.) has exceeded the total vehicle maximum for an extended period of time.
■If the protection circuit is activated and the power supply is cut, conduct the fol-
lowing procedure:Park the vehicle in a safe place, and then securely apply the parking brake.
Make sure that the power consumption of the electric appliance is within
the maximum capacity of the power outlet and the appliance is not bro-
ken.
Turn the “ENGINE START STOP” switch to IGNITION ON mode again.
When the cabin temperature is high, open the windows to cool the temperature
down. Once it reaches the normal temperature, turn the “ENGINE START STOP”
switch to IGNITION ON mode again.
If the power supply does not resume even after the above procedure has been per-
formed, have the vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer.

■High-intensity discharge (HID) headlights
If voltage to the high-intensity discharge bulbs is insufficient, the light may not come
on, or may go out temporarily. The high-intensity discharge bulbs will come on
when normal power is restored.
■LED light bulbs
The side turn signal lights, tail/stop lights , license plate light and high mounted stop-
light consist of a number of LEDs. If any LEDs burn out, take your vehicle to your
Lexus dealer to have the light replaced.
If two or more LEDs in a stoplight burn out, your vehicle may not conform to local
laws (SAE).
■Condensation build-up on the inside of the lens
Contact your Lexus dealer for more information in the following situations. Tempo-
rary condensation build-up on the inside of the headlight lens does not indicate a
malfunction.
●Large drops of water are built up on the inside of the lens.
●Water has built up inside the headlight.
