Replacing the following bulbs
If any of the lights listed below has burnt out, have it replaced by
any authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified
and equipped professional.
Headlights
Front position lights and daytime running lights
Side turn signal lights
Stop/tail lights
Tail lights
Rear fog light
High mounted stoplight
License plate lights
Discharge headlights
If voltage to the discharge bulbs is insufficient, the bulbs may not come on,
or may go out temporarily. The discharge bulbs will come on when normal
power is restored.
LED light bulbs
The lights other than the headlights, front fog lights (if equipped), front turn
signal lights, rear turn signal lights, back-up light and outer foot lights each
consist of a number of LEDs. If any of the LEDs burn out, take your vehicle
to any authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and
equipped professional to have the light replaced.
Condensation build-up on the inside of the lens
Contact any authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified
and equipped professional for more information in the following situations.
Temporary condensation build-up on the inside of the headlight lens does not
indicate a malfunction.
Large drops of water have built up on the inside of the lens.
Water has built up inside the headlight.

CAUTION
Replacing light bulbs
Turn off the lights. Do not attempt to replace the bulb immediately after
turning off the lights.
The bulbs become very hot and may cause burns.
Do not touch the glass portion of the light bulb with bare hands. Hold the
bulb by the plastic or metal portion.
If the bulb is scratched or dropped, it may blow out or crack.
Fully install light bulbs and any parts used to secure them. Failure to do so
may result in heat damage, fire, or water entering the headlight unit. This
may damage the headlights or cause condensation to build up on the lens.
While the headlights are turned on, and
for a short time after they have been
turned off, metal components at the rear
of the headlight assembly will be

are certain they have cooled down.

CAUTION
Discharge headlights
Contact any authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified
and equipped professional before replacing the discharge headlights
(including light bulbs).
Do not touch the discharge headlight’s high voltage socket when the head-
lights are turned on.
An extremely high voltage of 30000 V will be discharged and could result
in death or serious injury by electric shock.
Do not attempt to take apart or repair the headlight bulbs, connectors,
power supply circuits, or related components.
Doing so could result in electric shock and death or serious injury.
To prevent damage or fire
Make sure bulbs are fully seated and locked.
Check the wattage of the bulb before installing to prevent heat damage.
NOTICE
When replacing the outer foot lights
If the front window is stopping you from conducting the replace operation
properly, open the window on the side you are working on to allow you
enough space to work. Continuing the operation without giving yourself
enough space to work could lead you to scratch the vehicle.

If a warning light turns on or a warning buzzer
sounds
The following warning indicates a possible problem in the brake
system. Immediately stop the vehicle in a safe place and contact
any authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified
and equipped professional.
Calmly perform the following actions if any of the warning lights
comes on or flashes. If a light comes on or flashes, but then goes
off, this does not necessarily indicate a malfunction in the system.
However, if this continues to occur, have the vehicle inspected by
any authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified
and equipped professional.
Stop the vehicle immediately. Continuing to drive the vehicle
may be dangerous.

Failure to investigate the cause of the following warnings may lead
to the system operating abnormally and possibly cause an accident.
Have the vehicle inspected by any authorized Lexus dealer or
repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped professional imme-
diately.

Indicates a malfunction in the EPS (Electric Power Steer-
ing) system

Pre-crash safety system warning light
Indicates a malfunction in the pre-crash safety system
The warning light will operate as follows, even when the
system is not malfunctioning:
• The light will flash quickly when the system is operat-
ing.

• The light will turn on when the pre-crash safety system
is disabled. (P. 344)
• The light will flash when the system cannot temporarily
be used. (P. 774)
Slip indicator
Indicates a malfunction in:
•The VSC system;
• The TRC system; or
• The hill-start assist control system
The light will flash when the VSC, the TRC or the hill-
start assist control system is operating.
