Front Heated Seat Operations —
Uconnect Touch™ 8.4 and 8.4
Nav:
Press the “Controls” soft-key located
on the bottom of the Uconnect
Touch™ display.Press the “Driver” or “Pas-
senger” seat soft-key once
to select HI-level heating.
Press the soft-key a second
time to select LO-level heating. Press
the soft-key a third time to shut the
heating elements OFF. NOTE:
Once a heat setting is selected, heat
will be felt within two to five min-
utes.
When the HI-level setting is selected,
the heater will provide a boosted heat
level during the first four minutes of
operation. Then, the heat output will
drop to the normal HI-level. If the
HI-level setting is selected, the system
will automatically switch to LO-level
after a maximum of 60 minutes of
continuous operation. At that time,
the display will change from HI to LO,
indicating the change. The LO-level
setting will turn OFF automatically
after a maximum of 45 minutes.Rear Heated Seats
On some models, the two outboard
seats are equipped with heated seats.
The heated seat switches for these
seats are located on the rear of the
center console. There are two heated
seat switches that allow the rear pas-
sengers to operate the seats indepen-
dently.
You can choose from HI, LO or OFF
heat settings. Amber indicator lights
in each switch indicate the level of
heat in use. Two indicator lights will
illuminate for HI, one for LO and
none for OFF.
Press the switch once to se-
lect HI-level heating. Press
the switch a second time to
select LO-level heating.
Press the switch a third time to shut
the heating elements OFF.
NOTE:
 Once a heat setting is selected, heat will be felt within two to
five minutes.
 The engine must be running for the heated seats to operate.

FLASH-TO-PASS
You can signal another vehicle with
your headlights by lightly pulling the
multifunction lever toward you. This
will turn on the high beams headlights
until the lever is released.
COURTESY LIGHTS
The courtesy lights can be turned on
by pressing the top corner of the lens.
To turn the lights off, press the lens a
second time.FRONT MAP/READING
LIGHTS
The front map/reading lights can be
turned on by pressing a switch on
either side of the console. These
switches are backlit for night time
visibility. To turn the lights off, press
the switch a second time. The lightswill also turn on when the UNLOCK
button on the Remote Keyless Entry
(RKE) is pressed.
AMBIENT LIGHT
The overhead console is equipped
with an ambient light feature. This
light casts illumination for improved
visibility of the floor center console
and PRNDL area.
INTERIOR LIGHTS
The interior lights come on when a
door is opened.
To protect the battery, the interior
lights will turn off automatically
10 minutes after the ignition switch is
moved to the LOCK position. This
will occur if the interior lights were
switched on manually or are on be-
cause a door is open. This includes the

WARNING!
Do not place ashes inside the cubby
bin located on the center console on
vehicle's not equipped with the ash
receiver tray. A fire leading to bodily
injury could result.
The center console outlet is powered
directly from the battery (power
available at all times). Items plugged
into this outlet may discharge the bat-
tery and/or prevent the engine from
starting.
There is also a 12 volt power outlet
located on the back of the center con-
sole for rear passengers. This power
outlet has power available only when
the ignition is placed in the ACC or
RUN position.
WARNING!
To avoid serious injury or death:
 Only devices designed for use in this type of outlet should be in-
serted into any 12 Volt outlet.
 Do not touch with wet hands.
 Close the lid when not in use and
while driving the vehicle.
 If this outlet is mishandled, it may
cause an electric shock and fail-
ure.CAUTION!
 Many accessories that can beplugged in draw power from the
vehicle's battery even when not in
use (i.e., cellular phones, etc.).
Eventually, if plugged in long
enough, the vehicle's battery will
discharge sufficiently to degrade
battery life and/or prevent the en-
gine from starting.
 Accessories that draw higher
power (i.e., coolers, vacuum
cleaners, lights, etc.) will degrade
the battery even more quickly.
Only use these intermittently and
with greater caution.

After the use of high power draw
accessories or long periods of the
vehicle not being started (with ac-
cessories still plugged in), the ve-
hicle must be driven a sufficient
length of time to allow the alterna-
tor to recharge the vehicle's battery. Power outlets are designed for ac-
cessory plugs only. Do not hang
any type of accessory or accessory
bracket from the plug. Improper
use of the power outlet can cause
damage.
CUPHOLDERS
FRONT SEAT
CUPHOLDERS
The cupholders are located in the for-
ward edge of the center console. Heated and Cooled Cupholders
(for versions/markets, where
provided)
Your vehicle may be equipped with
heated and cooled cupholders. The
cupholders are designed to help keep
warm beverages warm and cold bev-
erages cool.
Press the “Cold” symbol once to turn
on the cupholder; press the symbol asecond time to turn the cupholder off.
Press the “Hot” symbol once to acti-
vate the cupholder; press the symbol a
second time to turn off the cupholder.
WARNING!
When using the cupholder in the
“Heat” position, avoid contact with
the heated portion of the cupholder
in order to reduce the possibility of
burns. Persons who are unable to
feel pain to the skin because of ad-
vanced age, chronic illness, diabetes,
spinal cord injuries, medication, al-
cohol use, exhaustion or other physi-
cal condition must exercise particu-
lar care in order to prevent serious
burn injury. Keep the cupholder free
of debris or stray objects when oper-
ated in the Heat position.
REAR SEAT CUPHOLDERS
The rear seat cupholders are located
in the center armrest between the rear
seats. The cupholders are positioned
forward in the armrest and side-by-
side to provide convenient access to
beverage cans or bottles while main-
taining a resting place for the rear
occupant' s elbows.

Lighted Cupholders (for
versions/markets, where
provided)
On some vehicles the rear cupholders
are equipped with a light ring that
illuminates the cupholders for the
rear passengers. The light ring iscon-
trolled by the Dimmer Control. Refer
to “Lights” in “Understanding The
Features Of Your Vehicle” for further
information. STORAGE
GLOVEBOX STORAGE
The glovebox storage compartment is
located on the passenger side of the
instrument panel.
CONSOLE FEATURES
There is a cubby bin located forward
of the shift lever. The cubby bin is
covered with a push-push actuated
door. Push inward on the door to open
it, push the door a second time to close
it.
Two separate storage compartments
are also located underneath the center
console armrest.
Inside the center console armrest,
there is a removable upper storage
tray that can be slid forward/
rearward on rails for access to the
lower storage area. This tray has an
integrated coin holder, along with ad-
ditional area for small items like an
ipod or phone. Below the upper tray,
the lower storage compartment is
made for larger items, like CDs and

CAUTION!Failure to follow these cautions can
cause damage to the heating elements: Use care when washing the insideof the rear window. Do not use
abrasive window cleaners on the
interior surface of the window.
Use a soft cloth and a mild wash-
ing solution, wiping parallel to the
heating elements. Labels can be
peeled off after soaking with
warm water.
 Do not use scrapers, sharp instru-
ments, or abrasive window clean-
ers on the interior surface of the
window.
 Keep all objects a safe distance
from the window.
POWER SUNSHADE (for
versions/markets, where
provided)
Your vehicle may be equipped with a
power sunshade that will reduce the
amount of sunlight that will shine
through the rear windshield.
The power sunshade can be operated
using the Uconnect Touch™ System. Press the “Controls” soft-key and
then press the “Sunshade” soft-key to
raise the power sunscreen. Press the
“Sunshade” soft-key a second time to
lower the sunshade.
If the sunshade is in the raised posi-
tion and the vehicle is placed in RE-
VERSE, the sunshade will automati-
cally fully lower. When the
transmission is shifted out of RE-
VERSE the sunshade will automati-
cally return to the fully raised position
after approximately five seconds.
NOTE:
The rear sunshade control switch
can be locked out with the rear
passenger window controls from
the driver switch window lockout
switch.
The power sunshade can also be oper-
ated by passengers in the rears seats.
The power sunshade switch is located
on the back of the center console be-
tween the heated seat switches. Press
the switch once to raise the sunshade.
Press the switch a second time to
lower the sunshade.

CAUTION!
 When “rocking” a stuck vehicleby moving between DRIVE and
REVERSE, do not spin the wheels
faster than 24 km/h, or drivetrain
damage may result.
 Revving the engine or spinning
the wheels too fast may lead to
transmission overheating and
failure. It can also damage the
tires. Do not spin the wheels above
48 km/h while in gear (no trans-
mission shifting occurring).WARNING!
Fast spinning tires can be danger-
ous. Forces generated by excessive
wheel speeds may cause damage, or
even failure, of the axle and tires. A
tire could explode and injure some-
one. Do not spin your vehicle's
wheels faster than 48 km/h or for
longer than 30 seconds continuously
without stopping when you are stuck
and do not let anyone near a spin-
ning wheel, no matter what the
speed. TOW EYES
Your vehicle is equipped with tow
eyes, which are mounted in the front
and the rear.
CAUTION!
Tow eyes are for emergency use only,
to rescue a vehicle stranded off road.
Do not use tow eyes for tow truck
hookup or highway towing. You
could damage your vehicle. Tow
straps are recommended when tow-
ing the vehicle; chains may cause
vehicle damage.WARNING!
Stand clear of vehicles when pulling
with tow eyes. Tow straps and chains
may break, causing serious injury.
SHIFT LEVER
OVERRIDE — 5 SPEED
TRANSMISSION
If a malfunction occurs and the shift
lever cannot be moved out of the
PARK position, you can use the fol-
lowing procedure to temporarily
move the shift lever: 1. Firmly apply the parking brake.
2. Remove the rubber tray from the
storage bin located to the right of the
shift lever. The override access port is
near the bottom of the bin to the right
of the shift lever gate.
3. Turn the ignition switch to the ON/
RUN position without starting the en-
gine (engine OFF).
4. Press and maintain firm pressure
on the brake pedal.
5. Using a screwdriver or similar tool,
press and hold the override tab
through the access port on the center
console.
6. Move the shift lever to the NEU-
TRAL position.

7. The vehicle may then be started in
NEUTRAL.
8. Reinstall the rubber tray in the
storage bin.
MANUAL PARK
RELEASE — 8 SPEED
TRANSMISSION (3.6L
Engine)WARNING!
Always secure your vehicle by fully
applying the parking brake, before
activating the Manual Park Release.
Activating the Manual Park Release
will allow your vehicle to roll away if
it is not secured by the parking
brake or by proper connection to a
tow vehicle. Activating the Manual
Park Release on an unsecured ve-
hicle could lead to serious injury or
death for those in or around the ve-
hicle.
In order to push or tow the vehicle in
cases where the transmission will not
shift out of PARK (such as a dead
battery), a Manual Park Release is
available. Follow these steps to use the Manual
Park Release:
NOTE:
To prevent the vehicle from rolling
unintentionally, firmly apply the
parking brake.
1. Remove the console storage bin to
access the Manual Park Release lever.
2. Using a small screwdriver or simi-
lar tool, fish the tether strap up
through the opening in the console
base.
3. Insert the screwdriver into the slot
in the center of the lever, and disen-
gage the spring steel lever locking tab
by pushing it to the right.
4. While holding the locking tab in
the disengaged position, pull the
tether strap to rotate the lever up and
rearward, until it locks in place in the
vertical position. The vehicle is now
out of PARK and can be towed. Re-
lease the parking brake only when the
vehicle is securely connected to a tow
vehicle.
