TOWING TIPS
Before setting out on a trip, practice
turning, stopping, and backing up the
trailer in an area located away from
heavy traffic. Automatic Transmission
The DRIVE range can be selected
when towing. However, if frequent
shifting occurs while in this range,
select a lower gear range using the
AutoStick® shift control (for
versions/markets, where provided).
NOTE:
Selecting a lower gear range while
operating the vehicle under heavy
operating conditions will improve
performance and extend transmis-
sion life by reducing excessive
shifting and heat buildup. This ac-
tion will also provide better engine
braking.
If you REGULARLY tow a trailer for
more than 45 minutes of continuous
operation, then change the automatic
transmission fluid and filter accord-
ing to the interval specified for “po-
lice, taxi, fleet, or frequent trailer tow-
ing.” Refer to the “Maintenance
Schedule” for the proper maintenance
intervals.

Electronic Speed Control (for
versions/markets, where
provided)
Do not use in hilly terrain or withheavy loads.
When using the speed control, if you experience speed drops greater
than 16 km/h, disengage until you
can get back to cruising speed.
Use speed control in flat terrain and with light loads to maximize
fuel efficiency.
AutoStick® (for versions/markets,
where provided)
By using the AutoStick® mode and selecting a specific gear range, fr e-
quent shifting can be avoided. The
highest gear range should be se-
lected that allows for adequate per-
formance. For example, choose “4”
if the desired speed can be main-
tained. Choose “3” or “2” if needed
to maintain the desired speed.
Extended driving at high RPM should be avoided to prevent excess heat generation. A reduction in
ve-
hicle speed may be required to
avoid extended driving at high
RPM. Return to a higher gear range
or vehicle speed when road condi-
tions and RPM level allows.
Cooling System
To reduce potential for engine and
transmission overheating, take the
following actions:
City Driving
When stopped for short periods of
time, shift the transmission into NEU-
TRAL and increase engine idle speed.
Highway Driving
Reduce speed.
Air Conditioning
Turn off temporarily.
TRAILER HITCH
ATTACHING POINTS
Your vehicle will require extra equip-
ment to tow a trailer safely and effi-
ciently. The trailer tow hitch must be
attached to your vehicle using the
provided attaching points on the ve- hicle's frame. Refer to the following
chart to determine the accurate
at-
taching points. Other equipment,
such as trailer sway controls and
braking equipment, trailer equalizing
(leveling) equipment and low profile
mirrors, may also be required or
strongly recommended.

TOWING (BEHIND
MOTORHOME, ETC.)
Recreational towing (with all four
wheels on the ground, or using a tow
dolly) isNOT ALLOWED. The only
acceptable method for towing this ve-
hicle (behind another vehicle) is on a
vehicle trailer with all four wheels
OFF the ground.CAUTION!
Towing this vehicle in violation of
the above requirements can cause
severe transmission damage. Such
damage is not covered by the New
Vehicle Limited Warranty.

HAZARD WARNING
FLASHERS
The Hazard Warning flasher switch is
located in the center of the instrument
panel between the center air outlets.Press the switch to turn on the
Hazard Warning flashers.
When the switch is activated,
all directional turn signals will flash
on and off to warn oncoming traffic of
an emergency. Press the switch a sec-
ond time to turn off the Hazard Warn-
ing flashers.
This is an emergency warning system
and it should not be used when the
vehicle is in motion. Use it when your
vehicle is disabled and it is creating a
safety hazard for other motorists.
When you must leave the vehicle to
seek assistance, the Hazard Warning
flashers will continue to operate even
though the ignition is placed in the
OFF position. NOTE:
With extended use the Hazard
Warning flashers may wear down
your battery.
IF YOUR ENGINE
OVERHEATS
In any of the following situations, you
can reduce the potential for overheat-
ing by taking the appropriate action.
 On the highways — slow down.
 In city traffic — while stopped,
place the transmission in NEU-
TRAL, but do not increase the en-
gine idle speed.
NOTE:
There are steps that you can take to
slow down an impending overheat
condition:
 If your air conditioner (A/C) is on, turn it off. The A/C system
adds heat to the engine cooling
system and turning the A/C off
can help remove this heat.
 You can also turn the tempera- ture control to maximum heat,
the mode control to floor and the blower control to high. This al-
lows the heater core to act as a
supplement to the radiator and
aids in removing heat from the
engine cooling system.
CAUTION!
Driving with a hot cooling system
could damage your vehicle. If the
temperature gauge reads “H,” pull
over and stop the vehicle. Idle the
vehicle with the air conditioner
turned off until the pointer drops
back into the normal range. If the
pointer remains on the “H,” turn the
engine off immediately and call for
service.WARNING!
You or others can be badly burned
by hot engine coolant (antifreeze) or
steam from your radiator. If you see
or hear steam coming from under
the hood, do not open the hood until
the radiator has had time to cool.
Never try to open a cooling system
pressure cap when the radiator or
coolant bottle is hot.

TIREFIT KIT (for
versions/markets, where
provided)
Small punctures up to
14” (6 mm) in
the tire tread can be sealed with
TIREFIT. Foreign objects (e.g.,
screws or nails) should not be re-
moved from the tire. TIREFIT can be
used in outside temperatures down to
approximately ­20°C.
This kit will provide a temporary tire
seal, allowing you to drive your ve-
hicle up to 160 km with a maximum
speed of 88 km/hr.

Using The Mode Select Knob And
Hoses
Your TIREFIT kit is equipped with
the following symbols to indicate the
air or sealant mode.Selecting Air Mode
Turn the Mode Select Knob
(5) to this position for air
pump operation only. Use
the Black Air Pump Hose
(7) when selecting this mode.
Selecting Sealant Mode
Turn the Mode Se-

Using The Power Button
Push and release the Power
Button (4) once to turn On

sure in the tire if it becomes
over-inflated.

TIREFIT USAGE
PRECAUTIONS
 Replace the TIREFIT SealantBottle (1) and Sealant Hose (6)
prior to the expiration date (printed
on the bottle label) to assure opti-
mum operation of the system. Refer
to “Sealing a Tire with TIREFIT”
section (F) “Sealant Bottle and
Hose Replacement”.
 The Sealant Bottle (1) and Sealant Hose (6) are a one tire application
use. After each use, always replace
these components immediately at
an authorized dealer.
 When the TIREFIT sealant is in a liquid form, clean water, and a
damp cloth will remove the mate-
rial from the vehicle or tire and
wheel components. Once the seal-
ant dries, it can easily be peeled off
and properly discarded.
 For optimum performance, make sure the valve stem on the wheel is
free of debris before connecting the
TIREFIT kit.  You can use the TIREFIT air pump
to inflate bicycle tires. The kit also
comes with two needles, located in
the Accessory Storage Compart-
ment (on the bottom of the air
pump) for inflating sport balls,
rafts, or similar inflatable items.
However, use only the Air Pump
Hose (7) and make sure the Mode
Select Knob (5) is in the Air Mode
when inflating such items to avoid
injecting sealant into them. The
TIREFIT Sealant is only intended
to seal punctures less than 6 mm
diameter in the tread of your ve-
hicle.
 Do not lift or carry the TIREFIT kit by the hoses.
WARNING!
 Do not attempt to seal a tire on theside of the vehicle closest to traf-
fic. Pull far enough off the road to
avoid the danger of being hit
when using the TIREFIT kit.
 Do not use TIREFIT or drive the
vehicle under the following cir-
cumstances:

If the puncture in the tire tread
is approximately 6 mm or
larger.
If the tire has any sidewall
damage.
If the tire has any damage from
driving with extremely low tire
pressure.
If the tire has any damage from
driving on a flat tire.
If the wheel has any damage.
If you are unsure of the condi-
tion of the tire or the wheel.
 Keep TIREFIT away from open
flames or heat source.
 A loose TIREFIT kit thrown for-
ward in a collision or hard stop
could endanger the occupants of
the vehicle. Always stow the
TIREFIT kit in the place pro-
vided. Failure to follow these
warnings can result in injuries
that are serious or fatal to you,
your passengers, and others
around you.
