Removing the battery
1. Remove the nut (1) and disconnect thebattery cable from the negative termi-
nal of the battery.
2. Remove the nuts (2, 3) and disconnect the battery cable from the positive ter-
minal of the battery.
3. Remove the battery.
4. Reinstall the battery in the reverse order of removal.

has been discharged or the battery has
been disconnected.

Watch the battery during charg- ing, and stop or reduce the charg-
ing rate if the battery cells begin
gassing (boiling) violently or if
the temperature of the electrolyte
of any cell exceeds 120°F (49°C).
Wear eye protection when check- ing the battery during charging.
Disconnect the battery charger in the following order.
1. Turn off the battery charger main switch.
2. Unhook the negative clamp from the negative battery terminal.
3. Unhook the positive clamp from the positive battery terminal.
WARNING
Before performing maintenanceor recharging the battery, turn off
all accessories and stop the
engine.
The negative battery cable must be removed first and installed
last when the battery is discon-
nected.

Outside light
1. Open the tailgate.
2. Loosen the light assembly retainingscrews with a philips head screwdriver.
3. Remove the rear combination light assembly from the body of the vehicle. 4. Remove the socket from the assembly
by turning the socket counterclockwise
until the tabs on the socket align with
the slots on the assembly.
5. Remove the bulb from the socket by pressing it in and rotating it counter-
clockwise until the tabs on the bulb
align with the slots in the socket. Pull
the bulb out of the socket. 6. Insert a new bulb by inserting it into
the socket and rotating it until it locks
into place.
7. Install the socket in the assembly by aligning the tabs on the socket with the
slots in the assembly. Push the socket
into the assembly and turn the socket
clockwise.
8. Reinstall the light assembly to the body of the vehicle.

Inside light
1. Open the tailgate.
2. Remove the service cover using a flat-
blade screwdriver.
3. Loosen the light assembly retaining nuts with a wrench.
4. Remove the rear combination light assembly from the body of the vehicle. 5. Remove the socket from the assembly
by turning the socket counterclockwise
until the tabs on the socket align with
the slots on the assembly.
6. Remove the bulb from the socket by pressing it in and rotating it counter-
clockwise until the tabs on the bulb
align with the slots in the socket. Pull
the bulb out of the socket. 7. Insert a new bulb by inserting it into
the socket and rotating it until it locks

High mounted stop light
replacement
1. Remove the tailgate trim
2. Remove the high mounted stop lampassembly after removing a cap nut and
bolts, then remove the spoiler. 3. Remove the spoiler lamp cover and
loosening the screw. And then remove
the high mounted stop lamp.
4. Install a new lamp and reinstall in the reverse order.

License plate light bulb replace-
ment
1. Loosen the lens retaining screws witha philips head screwdriver.
2. Remove the lens.
3. Remove the bulb by pulling it straight out.
4. Install a new bulb.
5. Reinstall the lens securely with the lens retaining screws.
