ELECTRIC WINDOWSThey are fitted with a security system that can
detect the presence of an obstacle whilst the
window is closing; when this happens, the system
kicks in and the movement of the glass is
immediately reversed.
IMPORTANT In the event that the anti-crushing
function is activated 5 times in only 1 minute, the
system will automatically enter the “recovery”
mode (self-protection). This condition is apparent
from the window closing in stages.
If this occurs, restore the system as follows:
❒open the windows;
or
❒turn the ignition key to the STOP position and
then to MAR-ON.
If no malfunction is present, the window returns to
its normal operation automatically.
IMPORTANT With the ignition key at STOP or
removed, the electric windows remain activated for
about two minutes and are deactivated as soon as
a door is opened.
WARNING
The system conforms to the 2000/4/EC
standard concerning the safety of
passengers leaning out of the passenger
compartment .
IMPORTANT On some versions, when the
button on the key with remote control is pressed
for longer than 2 seconds the windows will open,
whilst if the
button is pressed for longer than
2 seconds the windows will close.

WARNING
Never exceed the maximum allowed
load in the luggage compar tment (see
the "Technical data" chapter). Also make sure
that the objects you placed in the luggage
compar tment have been properly secured, to
avoid them from being projected forward
following sudden braking, causing injury to
passengers.
WARNING
When travelling, do not put any object
on the rear parcel shelf because they
can injure passengers in the event of an
accident or sudden braking.
EXTENDING THE LUGGAGE

CAR INACTIVITYIf the car is to be left inactive for longer than a
month, the following precautions should be
observed:
❒park the car in covered, dry and if possible
well-ventilated premises and slightly open the
windows;
❒engage a gear and disengage the handbrake;
❒disconnect the negative battery terminal and
check charge (see paragraph “Battery - Charge
and electrolyte level check” in chapter
“Maintenance and care”);
❒clean and protect the painted parts using
protective wax;
❒clean and protect the shiny metal parts using
special compounds available commercially;❒sprinkle talcum powder on the rubber
windscreen and rear window wiper blades and lift
them off the glass;
❒cover the car with a cloth or perforated plastic
sheet. Do not use sheets of non-perforated
plastic as they do not allow moisture on the car
body to evaporate;
❒inflate tyres to +0.5 bar above the standard
specified pressure and check it at intervals;
❒do not drain the engine cooling system.
IMPORTANT Where relevant, switch off the car
alarm with the remote control.

battery conditions, on the negative pole D of the
battery;❒connect the positive cable of the battery charger
to the positive battery terminal E and the
negative cable to sensor terminal D as shown;
❒turn on the battery charger. At the end of the
charging process, switch the battery charger off;
❒after having disconnected the battery charger,
reconnect connector A fig. 194 to the sensor
C as shown.
