Battery charge warning
lamp
This comes on for a few sec-
onds when the ignition is
switched on. Illumination of this warn-
ing lamp, when the engine is running,
accompanied by an audible signal
and the message "Battery charge
fault"
in the screen, indicates one of
the following:
- faulty operation of the charging
circuit,
- loose battery or starter terminals,
- a cut or loose alternator belt,
- an alternator failure.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
Emission control
system warning lamp
This comes on for a few sec-
onds each time the ignition is
switched on.
If it comes on with the engine
running, accompanied by an au-
dible signal and the message in the
screen:
- "Antipollution fault",
this indi-
cates a fault with the emission
control system
- "Catalytic converter fault",
this
indicates a fault with the injection
or ignition system. There is a risk
of damage to the catalytic con-
verter (petrol engine only).
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
Diesel engine pre-
heater warning lamp
Wait until the warning lamp
goes out before starting the
engine.
If the temperature is high enough,
the warning lamp comes on for less
than one second. You can start the
engine without waiting.
Low fuel level
warning lamp
This comes on for a few
seconds when the igni-
tion is switched on.
When the ignition is on, it is accom-
panied by an audible signal and the
message "Fuel level low"
in the
screen.
If it fl ashes with the fuel gauge needle
in the lowest position, when the igni-
tion is on, this indicates a fault with
the fuel gauge.
When this warning lamp comes on,
you have enough fuel left to drive
approximately 30 miles (50 km)
.
Capacity of the tank:
- approximately 55 litres for petrol
engines,
- approximately 60 litres for Diesel
engines.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION
90 -
The electrical system of your vehicle is designed to operate with standard or optional equipment.
Before installing other electrical equipment or accessories in your vehicle, consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
Some electrical accessories or the way in which they are fi tted may have an adverse effect on the operation of your
vehicle (its electronic control circuits, the audio system and the electrical charging circuit).
PEUGEOT declines any responsibility for expenses incurred through the repair of your vehicle or for any malfunctions result-
ing from the installation of auxiliary accessories, not supplied and not recommended by PEUGEOT and not installed in ac-
cordance with its instructions, in particular for any equipment the power consumption of which exceeds 10 milliamps.
The maxi fuses provide additional protection for the electrical systems. Any work on these fuses must be carried out by a
PEUGEOT dealer.

ECONOMY MODE FUNCTION
After the engine has stopped, with
the key in the "accessories" position,
certain functions (windscreen wiper,
electric windows, courtesy lights,
audio equipment, etc.) can only be
used for a combined duration of ap-
proximately thirty minutes, to prevent
discharging the battery.
Once the thirty minutes are over, a
switching to economy mode mes-
sage appears on the multi-function
display and the active functions are
put on standby.
These functions are reactivated au-
tomatically next time the vehicle is
driven.
In order to resume the use of these
functions immediately, the engine
must be started and left to run for a
few minutes.
The time available to you will then be
double the duration for which the en-
gine is left running. However, this pe-
riod will always be between fi ve and
thirty minutes.
BATTERY
It is advisable to disconnect the
battery if the vehicle is not to be
used for a period of more than
one month.
Before disconnecting the
battery, you must wait 2 min-
utes after switching off the
ignition.
Never disconnect a terminal when
the engine is running.
Never charge a battery without fi rst
disconnecting the terminals.
Close the windows and the roof before
disconnecting the battery.
After every reconnection of the bat-
tery, switch on the ignition and wait
1 minute before starting to allow the
electronic systems to be initialised. If
slight diffi culties are experienced af-
ter this, please contact a PEUGEOT
dealer.
A fl at battery prevents the
engine from starting.
To start the vehicle from
another battery:
- Connect the red cable to the posi-
tive (+) terminals of the two batteries,
- Connect one end of the green or
black cable to the negative (-) ter-
minal of the slave battery,
- Connect the other end of the green
or black cable to an earth point on
the broken down vehicle as far as
possible from the battery (for exam-
ple, right-hand engine mounting).
Operate the starter, let the engine run.
Wait for the engine to return to idle,
then disconnect the cables.
To charge the battery using a
battery charger:
- Disconnect the battery,
- Follow the instructions for use
given by the battery charger man-
ufacturer,
- Reconnect starting with the nega-
tive (-) terminal,
- Check that the terminals and
connectors are clean. If they are
covered with sulphate (white or
greenish deposit), disconnect
them and clean them.

The stored stations donot function (no sound, 87.5 Mhz is displayed...).
An incorrect waveband is selected.
Press the BAND AST button to return to the waveband (AM, FM1, FM2, FMAST) on which thestations are stored.
The traffi c announcement(TA) is displayed. I donot receive any traffi c information.
The radio station is not part of the regional traffi c information network.
Tune to a radio station which broadcasts traffi c information.
The quality of receptionof the radio station listened to graduallydeteriorates or the stored stations do not function(no sound, 87.5 Mhz is displayed...).
The vehicle is too far from the transmitter used by the station listenedto or there is no transmitter in the geographical area through which the vehicle is travelling.
Activate the RDS function to enable the system to check whether there is a more powerful transmitter in the geographical area.
The environment (hills, buildings, tunnels, basement car parks...) block reception, including in RDS mode. This phenomenon is normal and does not indicate a failure of the audio equipment.
The aerial is absent or has been damaged (for example when goingthrough a car wash or into an underground car park).
Have the aerial checked by a PEUGEOT dealer.
Sound cut-outs of 1 to2 seconds in radio mode.During this brief sound cut-out, the RDS searches for any frequency permitting better reception of the station.
Deactivate the RDS function if the phenomenon is too frequent and always on the same route.
With the engine off, the audio equipment switches off after a few minutes of use.
When the engine is switched off, the audio equipment operating timedepends on the battery charge.
The switch-off is normal: the audio equipment switches to economy mode and switches off to prevent discharging of the vehicle's battery.
Start the vehicle's engine to increase the batterycharge.
The message "the audio system is overheated" appears on the display.
In order to protect the installation if the surrounding temperature is toohigh, the audio equipment switches to an automatic thermal protectionmode leading to a reduction of the volume or stopping of the playing of the CD.
Switch the audio system off for a few minutes toallow the system to cool.

For the attention of users of a
vehicle adapted to electric drive:
You have available the "Electric mode
supplement" which is provided with
this Partner Origin document.
Refer to this supplement before us-
ing the vehicle and most particularly
before any connection is made to
charge the traction battery.
Ensure that the power socket you
intend to use is standard and com-
patible with the current rating (230 V
alternating current - 10 A minimum). It
is recommended that in all cases this
should be checked by a skilled elec-
trician.
You must only use the original charg-
ing cable and without any extension
lead.
The precautions are the same as for
any electric domestic appliance. Do
not touch the metal end of the normal
socket nor that of the charging cable
(risk of malfunction and of electrocu-
tion).
