1Add the coolant type originally equipped in your vehicle. Check the coolant reservoir bottle
labeling for the correct fluid type to use. Do not mix different colors or types of coolant. Do not
use Mazda Extended Life Engine Coolant (orange in color). Refer toAdding engine coolantin
this chapter.2Service refill capacity is determined by filling the transmission to the bottom of the filler hole with
the vehicle on a level surface.3Automatic transmissions that require MERCONLV should only use MERCONLV fluid. Refer to
scheduled maintenanceto determine the correct service interval. Use of any fluid other than the
recommended fluid may cause transmission damage.4Indicates only approximate dry-fill capacity. Some applications may vary based on cooler size and
if equipped with an in-tank cooler. The amount of transmission fluid and fluid level should be set

CELL PHONES
Use of cell phones and other devices by the driver:
WARNING:Use of any electrical devices such as cell phones,
computers, portable radios, vehicle navigation or other devices
by the driver while the vehicle is moving is dangerous. Dialing a
number on a cell phone while driving also ties-up the driver’s hands.
Use of these devices will cause the driver to be distracted and could
lead to a serious accident. If a passenger is unable to use the device,
pull off the right-of-way to a safe area before use. If use of a cell phone
is necessary despite this warning, use a hands-free system to at least
allow the hands free to drive the vehicle. Never use a cell phone or
other electrical device while the vehicle is moving and, instead,
concentrate on the full-time job of driving.
In addition, the gasoline distributors are warning against using cell
phones during refueling procedures, due to their increased concern
about static electricity fires in the self-service pump environment.
