For the right side only: Remove the securing clips and
unclip the engine coolant reservoir hose. Then lift up the air
cleaner inlet duct. (P. 536)
Turn the cover counterclock-
wise and remove it.
Turn the bulb base counter-
clockwise.
Unplug the connector while
pulling the lock release.

If any of the lights listed below has burnt out, have it replaced by
any authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly quali-
fied and equipped professional.
Headlight low beams (LED type)
Front position lights and daytime running lights
Side turn signal lights
Stop/tail lights
High mounted stoplight
Outer foot light
After replacing the bulbs
After lifting up the air cleaner duct or
removing the power control unit cover,
return the duct or the cover to their origi-
nal positions with the clips.

LED lights
The headlight low beams (LED type), front position lights, daytime running
lights, side turn signal lights, stop/tail lights and high mounted stoplight
consist of a number of LEDs. If any of the LEDs burn out, take your vehicle
to any authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and
equipped professional to have the light replaced.
Condensation build-up on the inside of the lens
Contact any authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified
and equipped professional for more information in the following situations.
Temporary condensation build-up on the inside of the headlight lens does
not indicate a malfunction.
Large drops of water have built up on the inside of the lens.
Water has built up inside the headlight.
When replacing light bulbs

CAUTION
Replacing light bulbs
Turn off the lights. Do not attempt to replace the bulb immediately after
turning off the lights.
The bulbs become very hot and may cause burns.
Do not touch the glass portion of the light bulb with bare hands. Hold the
bulb by the plastic or metal portion.
If the bulb is scratched or dropped, it may blow out or crack.
Fully install light bulbs and any parts used to secure them. Failure to do so
may result in heat damage, fire, or water entering the headlight unit. This
may damage the headlights or cause condensation to build up on the lens.
To prevent damage or fire
Make sure bulbs are fully seated and locked.

Pre-crash safety system warning light (if equipped)
Indicates a malfunction in the pre-crash safety system
The warning light will operate as follows, even when
the system is not malfunctioning:
• The light will flash quickly when the system is oper-
ating. (P. 292)
• The light will turn on when the pre-crash braking is
disabled. (P. 293)
• The light will turn on when the system cannot tempo-
rarily be used. (P. 576)
Slip indicator light
Indicates a malfunction in:
• Vehicle stability control;
• Traction control;
• Hill-start assist control
Brake system warning light (yellow indicator)
Indicates a malfunction in:
• The regenerative brake system; or
• The electronically controlled brake system
Automatic headlight leveling system warning light (if
equipped)
Indicates a malfunction in the automatic headlight lev-
eling system

When trouble arises

Have the vehicle inspected immediately.
A buzzer sounds and a warning message is shown on the multi-
information display. Failure to investigate the cause of the follow-
ing warnings may lead to the system operating abnormally and
possibly cause an accident. Have the vehicle inspected by any
authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and
equipped professional.

Indicates a malfunction in the P position control
system
In this situation, there is a possibility that the
parking lock mechanism will not work.
When parking, park the vehicle on a flat surface
and apply the parking brake securely. Also, it
may not be possible to turn the “POWER”
switch off. If this happens, applying the parking
brake will enable the switch to be turned off.
