air position or recirculated air position.
To change the air intake control position,
push the control button. Recirculated air position

the heating system and

Outside (fresh) air position With the outside (fresh) air
position selected, air
enters the vehicle from out-
side and is heated or
cooled according to the
function selected.
✽ ✽NOTICEProlonged operation of the heater in the
recirculated air position (without air
conditioning selected) may cause fog-
ging of the windshield and side windows
and the air within the passenger com-
partment may become stale.
In addition, prolonged use of the air con-
ditioning with the recirculated air posi-
tion selected will result in excessively dry
air in the passenger compartment.

4To defrost outside windshield 1. Set the fan speed to the highest posi-
tion.
2. Set the temperature to the extreme hot position.
3. Select the position.
4. The outside (fresh) air and air condi- tioning will be selected automatically.
If the air conditioning is not selected
automatically press the corresponding
button manually.
Automatic climate control systemTo defog inside windshield 1. Set the fan speed to the desired posi- tion.
2. Select desired temperature.
3. Press the defroster button ( ).
4. The outside (fresh) air position will be selected automatically and the air con-
ditioning will turn on according to the
detected ambient temperature.
If the air conditioning and outside (fresh)
air position are not selected automatical-
ly, adjust the corresponding button man-
ually. If the position is selected,
lower fan speed is adjusted to a higher
fan speed.

3. Press the defroster button ( ).
4. The outside (fresh) air position will be selected automatically and the air con-

Defogging logicTo reduce the possibility of fogging up
the inside of the windshield, the air intake
or air conditioning is controlled automati-
cally according to certain conditions such
as or position. To cancel or
return to the defogging logic, do the fol-
lowing.
Manual climate control system1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON posi-tion.
2. Turn the mode selection knob to the defrost position ( ).
3. Press the air intake control button at least 5 times within 3 seconds.
The indicator light in the air intake control
button will blink 3 times with 0.5 second
of interval. It indicates that the defogging
logic is canceled or returned to the pro-
grammed status.
If the battery has been discharged or dis-
connected, it resets to the defog logic
status.
Automatic climate control system1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON posi- tion.
2. Select the defroster position pressing the defroster button ( ).
3. While pressing the air conditioning button (A/C), press the air intake con-
trol button at least 5 times within 3 sec-
onds.
The A/C display blinks 3 times with 0.5
second of interval. It indicates that the
defogging logic is canceled or returned to
the programmed status.
If the battery has been discharged or dis-
connected, it resets to the defog logic
status.

Place your sunglasses with the lenses
facing out. To close the sunglass holder,
push it up.

Such objects can be thrown from
the holder in the event of a sudden
stop or an accident, possibly injur-
ing the passengers in the vehicle.
 Do not open the sunglass holder while the vehicle is moving. The
rear view mirror of the vehicle can
be blocked by an opened sunglass
holder.
CAUTION
To prevent damage to the goods or
the vehicle, care should be taken when carrying fragile or bulkyobjects in the luggage box.

To change the 24 hour format to the 12
hours format (if equipped), while press-
ing the “H” button, press the “M” button
for 3 seconds or more. For example, if the
“H” and “M” buttons are pressed for more
than 3 seconds while the time is 22:15,
the display will change to 10:15.

 Use the power outlet only when
the engine is running and removethe accessory plug after use.Using the accessory plug for pro-longed periods of time with the engine off could cause the bat-tery to discharge.
 Only use 12V electric accessories which are less than 10A in elec-tric capacity.
 Adjust the air-conditioner or heater to the lowest operatinglevel when using the power outlet.
 Close the cover when not in use.  Some electronic devices can cause electronic interferencewhen plugged into a vehicle’spower outlet. These devices maycause excessive audio static and malfunctions in other electronicsystems or devices used in yourvehicle.

 The vehicle center of gravity will be higher when items are loaded
onto the roof rack. Avoid sudden
starts, braking, sharp turns,
abrupt maneuvers or high speeds
that may result in loss of vehicle
control or rollover resulting in an
accident.
 Always drive slowly and turn cor- ners carefully when carrying
items on the roof rack. Severe
wind updrafts, caused by passing
vehicles or natural causes, can
cause sudden upward pressure
on items loaded on the roof rack.
This is especially true when car-
rying large, flat items such as
wood panels or mattresses. This
could cause the items to fall off
the roof rack and cause damage
to your vehicle or others around
you.
 To prevent damage or loss of cargo while driving, check fre-
quently before or while driving to
make sure the items on the roof
rack are securely fastened.
