lock button is pressed.
If all doors (and tailgate) are closed, the
hazard warning lights will blink once to
indicate that all doors (and tailgate) are
locked.
If the lock button is pressed once more
within 4 seconds, the horn will beep once
with the hazard warning lights blinking
once.
However, if any door (or tailgate) remains
open, the hazard warning lights will not
operate. But if all doors (and tailgate) are
closed after the lock button is pressed,
the hazard warning lights will blink once.
D020102BHM-EUUnlock (2)The driver's door is unlocked if the unlock
button is pressed once. The hazard
warning lights will blink twice to indicate
that the driver's door is unlocked.
All doors (and tailgate) are unlocked if
the unlock button is pressed once more
within 4 seconds. The hazard warning
lights will blink twice again to indicate
that all doors (and tailgate) are unlocked.
After pressing this button, the doors (and
tailgate) will be locked automatically
unless you open any door within 30 sec-
onds.
2 stage unlocking may be disabled or re-
enabled by simultaneously pressing the
Lock (1) and Unlock (2) button for 4 sec-
onds (disabling 2 stage unlock allows all
vehicle doors to unlock simultaneously).
The hazard warning lights will blink 4
times to indicate that 2 stage unlock was
enabled
D020105AHMAlarm (3)The horn sounds and the hazard warning
lights blink for about 30 seconds if this
button is pressed for more than 0.5 sec-
onds. To stop the horn and lights, press
any button on the transmitter.

engine without inserting the key.
The functions of the buttons on a smart
key are similar to the remote keyless
entry.Lock (1)All doors (and tailgate) are locked if the
lock button is pressed.
If all doors (and tailgate) are closed, the
hazard warning lights will blink and
chime sounds once to indicate that all
doors (and tailgate) are locked.However, if any door (or tailgate) remains
open, the hazard warning lights will not

Emergency fuel filler lid releaseIf the fuel filler lid does not open using
the remote fuel filler lid release, you can
open it manually. Remove the panel in
the cargo area. Pull the handle out slight-
ly.

If a fire breaks out during refuel-ing, leave the vicinity of the vehi-
cle, and immediately contact the
manager of the gas station and
then contact the local fire depart-
ment or 911. Follow any safety
instructions they provide.
CAUTION
Make sure to refuel your vehicle according to the “Fuel require-ments” suggested in section 1.
If the fuel filler cap requires replacement, use only a genuineKIA cap or the equivalent speci-fied for your vehicle. An incorrect fuel filler cap can result in a seri-ous malfunction of the fuel sys- tem or emission control system.
Do not spill fuel on the exterior surfaces of the vehicle. Any typeof fuel spilled on painted surfacesmay damage the paint.
After refueling, make sure the fuel cap is installed securely to pre-vent fuel spillage in the event ofan accident.
CAUTION
Do not pull the handle excessively,otherwise the luggage compart-ment area trim or release handle may be damaged.

4D140200AHM-EUOutside rearview mirror Be sure to adjust the mirror angles
before driving.
Your vehicle is equipped with both left-
hand and right-hand outside rearview
mirrors. The mirrors can be adjusted
remotely with the remote switch. The mir-
ror heads can be folded back to prevent
damage during an automatic car wash or
when passing through a narrow street.

The right outside rearview mirror
is convex. Objects seen in the
mirror are closer than they
appear.
Use your interior rearview mirror or direct observation to deter-
mine the actual distance of fol-
lowing vehicles when changing
lanes.
CAUTION
Do not scrape ice off the mirrorface; this may damage the surfaceof the glass. If ice should restrictthe movement of the mirror, do not force the mirror for adjustment. Toremove ice, use a deicer spray, or asponge or soft cloth with very warmwater.
CAUTION
If the mirror is jammed with ice, donot adjust the mirror by force. Use an approved spray de-icer (not radi-ator antifreeze) to release the frozen mechanism or move thevehicle to a warm place and allow the ice to melt.
WARNING
Do not adjust or fold the outside
rearview mirrors while the vehicle
is moving. This could result in loss
of control, and an accident which
could cause death, serious injury
or property damage.

The electric remote control mirror switch
allows you to adjust the position of the
left and right outside rearview mirrors. To
adjust the position of either mirror the
ignition switch should be in the ACC posi-
tion. Move the switch (1) to R or L to
select the right side mirror or the left side
mirror, then press a corresponding point
on the mirror adjustment control to posi-
tion the selected mirror up, down, left or
right.
After the adjustment, put the switch into
the neutral (center) position to prevent
inadvertent adjustment.

the housing of the mirror and then fold it
toward the rear of the vehicle.

■Using the head unit as Bluetooth
musicThe head unit supports A2DP (Audio
Advanced Distribution Profile) and
AVRCP (Audio Video Remote Control
Profile).
Both profiles are available for listening to
the MP3 music via Bluetooth cellular
phone supporting above Bluetooth pro-
files.
To play MP3 music from the Bluetooth
cellular phone, press the [AUX] button
until “MP3 Play” is displayed on the LCD.
Then try playing music by phone.
When playing music from the Bluetooth
cellular phone, the head unit displays
MP3 MODE.
NOTE: Not only MP3 files, all the soundsthat the phone supports can be
heard by the audio system.
The Bluetooth cellular phones shall feature A2DP and AVRCP functions.
Some A2DP and AVRCP Bluetooth cellular phones may not play music
through the head unit on first try.
