INTERIOR LIGHT
Automatic turn off function (if equipped)
The interior lights automatically turn off
approximately 20 minutes after the igni-
tion switch is turned off.
If your vehicle is equipped with the theft
alarm system, the interior lights automat-
ically turns off approximately 3 seconds
after the system is armed stage. ■

Type A
Map lamp
Push the lens to turn the map lamp on or
off. This light produces a spot beam for
convenient use as a map lamp at night or
as a personal lamp for the driver and the
front passenger.
In the DOOR position, the map lamp and the room lamp come
on when any door is openedregardless of the ignition
switch position. When doors
are unlocked by the transmitter
(or smart key), the map lampand the room lamp come on
for approximately 30 seconds
as long as any door is notopen. The map lamp and the room
lamp goes out gradually after
approximately 30 seconds if the
door is closed. However, if the
ignition switch is ON or all doors
are locked, the map lamp and the
room lamp will turn off immedi-
ately. If a door is opened with the
ignition switch in the ACC orLOCK position, the map lamp
and the room lamp stays on for
about 20 minutes. However, if adoor is opened with the ignition
switch in the ON position, themap lamp and the room lamp
stays on continuously.
: The lights turn off even if a door is opened.
When the lamp is turned ON by
pressing the lens (1), the lamp
does not turn off even if the
switch (2) is in the OFF posi-tion.
: The map lamp and the room lamp stay on at all times.
CAUTION
Do not use the interior lights for
extended periods when the engine
is not running.
It may cause battery discharge.

Vanity mirror lamp
Push the switch to turn the light on or off.
: The lamp will turn on if this button
is pressed.
: The lamp will turn off if this button is pressed.

Defogging logic
To reduce the probability of fogging up
the inside of the windshield, the air intakeor air conditioning are controlled auto-
matically according to certain conditions
such as or position. To cancel or
return the defogging logic, do the follow-ing.Manual climate control system
1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON posi-tion.
2. Press the defroster button ( ).
3. Press the air intake control button at least 5 times within 3 seconds.
The A/C display blinks 3 times with 0.5
seconds of interval. It indicates that the
defogging logic is canceled or returned to
the programmed status.
If the battery has been discharged or dis-
connected, it resets to the defog logic
status. Automatic climate control system
1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON posi-
tion.
2. Press the defroster button ( ).
3. While pressing the air conditioning button (A/C), press the air intake con-
trol button at least 5 times within 3 sec-
onds.
The indicator on the air intake button
blinks 3 times with 0.5 seconds of inter-
val. It indicates that the defogging logic is
canceled or returned to the programmed
status.
If the battery has been discharged or dis-
connected, it resets to the defog logic
status.

Power outlet
The power outlet is designed to provide
power for mobile telephones or other
devices designed to operate with vehicle
electrical systems. The devices should
draw less than 10 amps with the engine
running.
CAUTION
Use the power outlet only whenthe engine is running and remove
the accessory plug after use. Using the accessory plug for pro-longed periods of time with theengine off could cause the bat-
tery to discharge.
Only use 12V electric accessories which are less than 10A in elec-tric capacity.
Adjust the air-conditioner or heater to the lowest operatinglevel when using the power outlet.
Close the cover when not in use. Some electronic devices can cause electronic interference
when plugged into a vehicle’s power outlet. These devices maycause excessive audio static and malfunctions in other electronic
systems or devices used in yourvehicle.
WARNING
Do not put a finger or a foreign ele-
ment (pin, etc.) into a power outlet
and do not touch with a wet hand.
You may get an electric shock.
CAUTION - Vanity mirror
lamp
If you use the vanity mirror lamp,turn off the lamp before return the
sunvisor to its original position. Itcould result in battery dischargeand possible sunvisor damage.

Digital clock
Whenever the battery terminals or relat-
ed fuses are disconnected, you must
reset the time.
When the ignition switch is in the ACC or
ON position, the clock buttons operate as
follows:

Hour (1)
Pressing the H button will advance the
time displayed by one hour. If the R but-ton is pressed while adjusting, the hourwill reset.
Minute (2)
Pressing the M button will advance the
time displayed by one minute. If the R
button is pressed while adjusting, the
minute will reset as follows. 9:00 ~ 9:29 ➔9:00
9:30 ~ 9:59 ➔10:00
Reset (3)
12 hour format : Pressing the R button
will reset the time to 12:00 AM.
24 hour format : Pressing the R button will reset the time to 0:00.
Display conversion
To change the 12 hour format to the 24
hour format follow the direction below.
1. Turn the audio system on.
2. Press the setup button and select the CLOCK menu by using the File/Tune
button.
3. Press the OK button.
4. Select the Time Format you desire using the File/Tune button.
5. Press the OK button.
WARNING
Do not adjust the clock while driv-
ing. You may lose your steering
control and cause an accident that
results in severe personal injury ordeath.

To change the 12 hour format to the 24
hour format, press the “H” and “M” but-
tons at the same time for more than 3
seconds.
For example, if the “H” and “M” buttons
are pressed for more than 3 seconds
while the time is 10:15 p.m., the displaywill change to 22:15.
Outside thermometer
The current outside temperature is dis-
played in 1°C (1°F) increments. The tem-
perature range is between -40°C ~ 60°C(-40°F ~ 140°F).
The outside temperature on the displaymay not change immediately like a
general thermometer to prevent the
driver from being inattentive.
Temperature conversion
You can switch the temperature mode
between Centigrade and Fahrenheit as
follows: ■ Type A
1. Turn the audio system on.
2. Press the setup button and select the TEMP menu by using the File/Tune
button.
3. Press the OK button.
4. Select the Temperature Display Type you desire using the File/Tune button.
5. Press the OK button. ■ Type B
Manual climate control system
1. Set the mode to the position.
2. Set the fan speed to 0.
3. Press the air intake control button 5 times within 3 seconds.
Automatic climate control system
While pressing the MODE button, press
the DUAL button for 3 seconds or more.
If the battery has been discharged or dis-
connected, the temperature mode dis-
play will reset to Centigrade.

iPod DEVICE
Some iPod models might not support the communication protocol and the
files will not be played.
Supported iPod models:
- iPod Mini
- iPod 4th(Photo) ~ 6th(Classic) gen-
eration
- iPod Nano 1st~4th generation
- iPod Touch 1st~2nd generation
The order of search or playback of songs in the iPod can be different
from the order searched in the audio
system.
If the iPod disabled due to its own malfunction, reset the iPod. (Reset:
Refer to iPod manual)
An iPod may not operate normally on
low battery.
Some iPod devices, such as the iPhone,
can be connected through the Bluetooth
interface. The device must have audio
Bluetooth capability (such as for stereo
headphone Bluetooth). The device can
play, but it will not be controlled by the
audio system.CAUTION IN USING THE
iPod DEVICE
The Kia iPod Power Cable is needed in order to operate iPodwith the audio buttons on theaudio system. The USB cable pro-vided by Apple may cause mal-
function and should not be usedfor Kia vehicles.
❋ The Kia iPod Power Cable may be purchased through your KiaDealership.
When connecting iPod with the iPod Power Cable, insert the con-
nector to the multimedia socket completely. If not inserted com-pletely, communications betweeniPod and audio may be interrupt-
ed.
When adjusting the sound effects of the iPod and the audio system,the sound effects of both devices will overlap and might reduce or
distort the quality of the sound.

audio system when using theequalizer of an iPod.
When the iPod cable is connected, the system can be switched to AUX

the iPod cable when you are not using the iPod device.
When not using iPod with car audio, detach the iPod cable fromiPod. Otherwise, iPod may remain in accessory mode, and may notwork properly.

ACC(Accessory)
Press the ENGINE START/STOP button while it is in the OFF position without
depressing the brake pedal.
The steering wheel unlocks and electri-
cal accessories are operational.
If the ENGINE START/STOP button is in
the ACC position for more than 1 hour,
the button turns off automatically to pre-
vent battery discharge.
ON
Press the ENGINE START/STOP button
while it is in the ACC position without
depressing the brake pedal.
The warning lights can be checked
before the engine is started. Do not leave
the ENGINE START/STOP button in the
ON position for a long time. The battery
may discharge, because the engine is
not running.
Orange indicatorGreen indicator
CAUTION
You are able to turn off the engine
(START/RUN) or vehicle power
(ON), only when the vehicle is not inmotion. In an emergency situationwhile the vehicle is in motion, you are able to turn the engine off and
to the ACC position by pressing theENGINE START/STOP button formore than 2 seconds or 3 times
successively within 3 seconds. Ifthe vehicle is still moving, you canrestart the engine without depress-ing the brake pedal by pressing the
ENGINE START/STOP button withthe shift lever in the N (Neutral)position.
