Deactivation of
the automatic
functions of
the electric
parking brake


fi xed. The "automatic application"
(on switching off the engine)
and "automatic release"
functions are deactivated or
faulty. Activate the function (according to
country) via the vehicle confi guration
menu or contact a CITROËN dealer or a
qualifi ed workshop.


Diesel engine
pre-heating


fi xed. The ignition switch is at the
2nd position (ignition on). Wait until the warning lamp goes off
before starting.
The period of illumination of the warning
lamp is determined by the climatic
conditions (up to about thirty seconds in
extreme climatic conditions).
If the engine does not start, switch the
ignition off and then on, wait until the
warning lamp goes off again, then start
the engine.

has been selected, you can start diag-
nostics of the status of the equipment

has been selected, you can activate or
deactivate the following equipment:

- "BEND LIGHTING" (Directional light-
ing; refer to the "Visibility" section),

- "AUTO HEADLAMPS" (Automatic
illumination of headlamps; refer to
the"Visibility" section),

- "REAR WIPE ACT" (Rear wiper
coupled with reverse gear; refer to
the "Visibility" section),

- "GUIDE LAMPS" (Guide-me-home
lighting; refer to the "Visibility" section),

- "ELECTRIC BOOT" (Selective un-
locking of the boot; refer to the
"Access" section),

- "CABIN SELECT" (Selective unlock-
ing; refer to the "Access" section),

- "DAY LAMPS" (Daytime running
lamps; refer to the "Visibility" section).

Reinitialisation
If a window does not rise automatically,
its operation must be reinitialised:

pull the control until the window
stops,

)
release the control and pull it again
until the window closes fully,

continue to hold the control for ap-
proximately one second after the
window has closed,

press the control to lower the window
automatically to the low position,

)
when the window has reached the
low position, press the control again
for approximately one second.

The safety anti-pinch function is not
operational during these operations.

tric window controls regardless of
their position.
Indicator lamp on, the rear controls are
deactivated.

Deactivation of the rear electric
window controls
Always remove the key from the
ignition when leaving the vehicle,
even for a short time.
If an obstacle is encountered
during operation of the electric
windows, you must reverse the
movement of the window. To
do this, press the control con-
cerned.
When the driver operates the
controls for the passengers'
electric windows, they must en-
sure that nothing is preventing
the windows closing correctly.
The driver must ensure that the
passengers use the electric win-
dows correctly.
Be aware of children when oper-
ating the windows.
Any other state of the warning
lamp indicates an operating fault
in this function. have it checked
by a CITROËN dealer or a quali-
fi ed workshop.

230 V/50 HZ POWER SOCKET


A 230 V/50 Hz socket (maximum power:
120 W) is fi tted to the centre console.

To use the socket:


)
lift the front armrest cover for ac-
cess to its compartment,

)
check that the warning lamp is on
green,

)
connect your multimedia or other
electrical device (telephone charger,
laptop computer, CD-DVD player,
baby food warmer...).
This socket works with the engine
running, as well as in STOP mode on
Stop & Start.

)
To connect a 12 V accessory (max
power: 120 W), lift the cover and
connect a suitable adaptor.
12 V ACCESSORY SOCKET

Connect only one device at a
time to the socket (no extension
or multi-way connector).
Connect only devices with class
II insulation (shown on the de-
vice).
As a safety measure, when elec-
trical consumption is high and
when required by the vehicle's
electrical system (particular
weather conditions, electrical
overload...), the current supply
to the socket will be cut off; the
green warning lamp goes off.

In the event of a fault with the socket,
the green warning lamp fl ashes.
Have it checked by a CITROËN dealer
or a qualifi ed workshop.

ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE

The electric parking brake combines
2 operating modes:


- Automatic Application/Release


Application is automatic when the
engine stops, release is automatic
on use of the accelerator (activated
by default),

- Manual Application/Release


The parking brake can be applied/
released manually by pulling control
lever A
.
If this warning lamp comes on
in the instrument panel, the au-
tomatic mode is deactivated.
Programming the mode

Depending on the country of sale of the ve-
hicle, the automatic application when the
engine is switched off and the automatic
release when you press the accelerator
can be deactivated.

It is recommended that you do
not apply the parking brake in
very cold conditions (ice) and
during towing (breakdown, cara-
van...). Deactivate the automatic
functions and release the parking
brake manually.

Manual application

With the vehicle stationary, to apply the
parking brake whether the engine is
running or off, pull
control lever A
.
The application of the parking brake is
confi rmed by:


- lighting of the braking warn-
ing lamp and of the P
warning
lamp in the control lever A
,

- display of the message
"Handbrake on".

Before leaving the vehicle, check
that parking brake warning lamp
in the instrument panel is on
fi xed, not fl ashing.
When the driver’s door is opened with
the engine running, a loud beep is heard
and a message is displayed if the park-
ing brake has not been applied, unless
the gear lever is in position P
(Park) in
the case of an automatic gearbox.
Activation/deactivation is per-
formed using the vehicle confi gu-
ration menu, refer to the section
on parameter settings for the
systems of your vehicle.

The parking brake is then applied and
released manually. When the driver's
door is opened, there is an audible signal
and a message is displayed if the brake
is not applied.

Do not place any object (packet
of cigarettes, telephone...) be-
tween the gear lever and the
electric parking brake control
lever.

Emergency braking

If a failure of the ESP system is
signalled by the illumination of
this warning lamp, then braking
stability is not guaranteed.
In this event, stability must be assured
by the driver by repeating alternate
"pull-release" actions on the control
lever A
.
In the event of a failure of the main ser-
vice brake or in an exceptional situation
(e.g. driver taken ill, under instruction,
etc) a continuous pull on the control
lever A
will stop the vehicle.
The electronic stability programme
(ESP) provides stability during emer-
gency braking.
If the emergency braking malfunctions,
the message "Parking brake faulty" will
be displayed.
The emergency braking must
only be used in exceptional cir-
cumstances.
Emergency release

In the event of the electric parking brake
malfunctioning or the battery running
fl at, an emergency manual device can
release the parking brake.


)

Immobilise the vehicle (or keep it sta-
tionary, if the brake pedal is pressed),
with the engine running, by engaging
fi rst gear (manual gearbox), position P

(automatic gearbox) or M
or R
(6-speed
electronic gearbox system).

)
Switch off the engine but leave the igni-
tion on. If it is not possible to immobilise
the vehicle, do not operate the control
and contact a CITROËN dealer or a
qualifi ed workshop without delay.
