Driving
This gearbox has two driving modes:


- an automated mode for automatic control
of the gears by the gearbox and therefore
without any action on the par t of the driver,

- a manual mode for sequential changing of
the gears by the driver using the steeringmounted controls or the gear lever.





CVT gearbox
It includes the following controls:
- a gear lever 1
on the centre console for selecting the driving mode, reverse gear
and neutral or for changing gear in manual
mode,
-
a "-"
steering mounted control paddle 2
for manual downward gear changes,

- a "+/OFF"steering mounted control paddle 3for manual upward gear changes.

The six-speed automatic
gearbox offers a choice between the comfor t of automatic regulation or the pleasure of manual gear changing.


The mode can be changed at any time.

Manual gear changing
In the automated mode, you can take over
control temporarily at any time using thesteering mounted controls.
The use of these controls permits manualselection of the gears in situations whichrequire a faster change down than that offered
in automated mode (arrival at a roundabout, exit from a car park with a steep gradient,
over taking...).
The gearbox engages the gear requested if
the engine speed permits it. The gear engaged appears.
To return to the automated mode, do one of thefollowing:
- press the back of the "+/OFF"steering mounted control 3for approximately2 seconds,
- move the gear lever quickly towardsposition +/-
and then return it to position D ,
- stop the vehicle.


Stopping the vehicle
Operating fault

With the ignition on, if the message "Slow
down"
or "Service required"
appears in
the instrument panel screen, this indicates a
gearbox malfunction.
When a message is displayed, carry out thefollowing operations:


- slow down and stop your vehicle in a safe place,

- place the lever in position P
and let the engine run,

- open the bonnet to allow the engine to cool.
If the message disappears for a long period, you can set off again.
If the message remains displayed or appears
frequently, contact a CITROËN dealer or aqualified workshop without delay. Before switchin
g off the engine, you must place
the gear lever in position P.P You must apply the parking brake to immobilise
the vehicle.

Practical information
) Remove the protective plastic cover.)
Turn the bulb holder to the left and pull it out. )
Remove the bulb and its base by pressing on the lug at the bottom. )
Change the bulb.
For reassembly, carry out these operations in reverse order.

12 V battery


Electrolyte level

For access to the battery, refer to the"12V bat tery" section.
The electrolyte level must bebetween the "LOWER LEVEL" and "UPPER LEVEL" marks.

Air filter and passenger compartment filter
Replace the oil filter each time the engine oil is changed.
Refer to the servicing booklet for
details of the replacement inter val for
this component.
Oil filter
If necessary, top up using distilled water,
removing the battery cap from each cell.
Check the electrolyte level at least once a month.
When carrying out work on the battery, refer
to "12V battery" section for details of the
precautions to be taken before disconnectingthe battery and following its reconnection.
Unless other wise indicated, check these components in accordance with the ser vicin
g booklet and according to your engine.
Other wise, have them checked by a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.
Dependin
g on the environment (e.g. dustyatmosphere) and the use of the vehicle (e.g. city driving), replace them twice as often if necessary.y A clogged passenger compar tment filter mayhave an adverse effect on the performance
of the air conditioning system and generate undesirable odours.

WHAT IS RDS?
The Radio Data
System (RDS) function on the FM waveband permits: - automatic retuning to alternative frequencies carrying the samestation while travelling through different regions (if the transmittersgqyggqyg
of this station cover the area through which you are travelling),gg g(gg g(
- temporary tuning to traffi c information announcements,
- display of the name of the station, etc...
Most FM stations use RDS.
These stations transmit non-audible data in addition to their programmes. The data transmitted in this way allows you access to variousfunctions, mainly displaying of the name of the station, temporary yyyy
tuning to traffi c information announcements or automatic retuning to y pyg p yy pyg p
alternative frequencies.gg
RDS allows you to continue listening to the same station automatically by means of alternative frequencies. However, alternative frequencies yg yyg

Some stations are organised in a network.

Your radio automatically checks and selects the best frequency for the radio station to which it is tuned (if the station broadcasts on yqyyq

TRAFFIC INFORMATION FUNCTION

The Tra
ffic Programme (TP) function permits automatic and
temporary switching to an FM station broadcasting traffi c information.
The radio station or the source that
you are listening to at this point ispaused.

Once the traffi c information has ended, the system switches back to
the radio station or the source that you were listening to initially.

PROGRAMME TYPES

Some stations offer the option of listening to a themed type of
programme as a priority, selected from the list available below:
