TRANSMISSION HOT IDLE
ENGINE Notice: If you drive the vehicle
while the transmission fluid is
overheating and the transmission
temperature warning is displayed
on the instrument panel cluster
and/or DIC, you can damage the
transmission. This could lead to
costly repairs that would not be
covered by the warranty. Do not
drive the vehicle with overheated
transmission fluid or while the
transmission temperature
warning is displayed.
This message displays along with
four chimes if the transmission fluid
in the vehicle gets hot. Driving with
the transmission fluid temperature
high can cause damage to the vehicle. Stop the vehicle and let it
idle to allow the transmission to
cool. This message clears and
the chime stops when the fluid
temperature reaches a safe level.

6-8 Lighting There is a delay in the transition
between the daytime and nighttime
operation of the automatic
headlamp system so that driving
under bridges or bright overhead
street lights does not affect the
system. The automatic headlamp
system is only affected when the
light sensor detects a change in
lighting lasting longer than the
delay.
If the vehicle is started in a dark
garage, the automatic headlamp
system will come on immediately.
Once the vehicle leaves the garage,
it takes approximately one minute
for the automatic headlamp system
to change if it is bright enough
outside. During that delay, the instrument panel cluster may not be
as bright as usual. Make sure the
instrument panel brightness control
is in the full bright position. See
Instrument Panel Illumination
Control on page 6 ‑ 10 .
To idle the vehicle with the
automatic headlamp system off,
turn the control to the off position.
The headlamps will also stay on
after you exit the vehicle. This
feature can be programmed using
the Driver Information Center (DIC).
See Vehicle Personalization on
page 5 ‑ 40 .
The regular headlamp system can
be turned on when needed. Hazard Warning Flashers
| (Hazard Warning Flashers):
Press this button located on top of
the steering column, to make the
front and rear turn signal lamps
flash on and off. This warns others
that you are having trouble. Press
again to turn the flashers off.
When the hazard warning flashers
are on, the vehicle's turn signals will
not work.

7-2 Infotainment System
Introduction Infotainment Read this manual thoroughly to
become familiar with how the
navigation system operates.
The navigation system includes
navigation and audio functions.
Keeping your eyes on the road
and your mind on the drive is
important for safe driving. The
navigation system has built-in
features intended to help keep
your eyes on the road and mind on
the drive. A few features may be
disabled while driving. Note that
these functions will be grayed-out.
A grayed-out function indicates it is
not available when the vehicle is
moving. All functions are available when the
vehicle is parked. Do the following
before driving: .
Become familiar with the
navigation system operation,
buttons on the faceplate, and
touch-sensitive screen buttons
of the navigation system. .
Set up the audio by presetting
favorite stations, setting the
tone, and adjusting the
speakers. .
Set up the navigation features
before beginning driving, such
as entering an address or a
preset destination. .
Set up your phone numbers
in advance so they can be
called easily with the press
of a single button or a single
voice command (for navigation
systems equipped with phone
capability). { WARNINGTaking your eyes off the road too
long or too often while using the
navigation system could cause a
crash resulting in injury or death
to you or others. Focus your
attention on driving.
{ WARNINGAvoid looking too long or too
often at the moving map on the
navigation screen. This could
cause a crash and you or others
can be injured or killed. Use the
turn-by-turn voice guidance
directions whenever possible.
