Fuel meter
The fuel meter indicates the amount of fuel in the
fuel tank. The display segments of the fuel meter
disappear from “F” (full) towards “E” (empty) as the
fuel level decreases. When the “E” segment disap-
pears and the fuel level warning indicator flashes,
refuel as soon as possible.TIPThis fuel meter is equipped with a self-diagnosis
system. If a problem is detected in an electrical cir-
cuit, all the display segments and fuel level warn-
ing indicator start flashing. If this occurs, have a
Yamaha dealer check the electrical circuit.

Self-diagnosis device
This model is equipped with a self-diagnosis de-
vice for various electrical circuits.
If a problem is detected in any of those circuits, the
engine trouble warning light comes on or flashes,
and the multi-function display indicates an error
code.
If the multi-function display indicates an error
code, note the code number, and then have a
Yamaha dealer check the vehicle.NOTICEIf the multi-function display indicates an error
code, the vehicle should be checked as soon
as possible in order to avoid engine damage.

3. Align the slot in the seat mounts with the
same positioning pin on both seat rails, then
push down on the seat.
4. While pushing the lock release tab of the lock
release, slide the lock release in direction b.
Make sure the seats are securely latched. Al-
so, make sure the lock release is locked in
place. WARNING! A loose seat could
cause the operator to lose control, or
cause the operator or passenger to fall.

Rear seat
WARNING
When tipping the rear seat:

Keep hands, body, and other people away
from pinch points. You or someone else
could be pinched by the seat.


Make sure the seat belts are not pinched or
caught on any portion of the vehicle. Oth-
erwise, the seat belts will not function
properly and the safety provided by the
belts will be lost.


When returning the backrest upright, make
sure the seat belts can be properly latched.
Failure to use seat belts properly may lead
to an increased likelihood and severity of
injury. (See pages 4-71 and 7-15–7-19 for
details.)

4. Pull the right and left seat lock levers upward
and tip the seat upright. WARNING! Be sure
to fully tip the seat upright before releas-
ing it. Otherwise, the seat could fall down
and cause injury. NOTICE: Before tipping
the seat upright, make sure there are no
items placed in the cup holders or on the
floorboard. Otherwise, damage to the
items or seat may occur.
5. Remove the hook on the end of each seat
strap from its holder on the bottom of the
seat.

To tip the seat to the original position1. Remove the buckle storage compartment lid
from the buckle storage compartment, and
then install the lid onto the bottom of the rear
seat.
2. Unhook the seat straps from the passenger
handholds, and then secure the straps by fit-
ting their hook onto its holder on the bottom of
the seat. NOTICE: After securing the seat
straps, pull the end of each strap to re-
move any slack.
3. Lower the seat to the original position.
WARNING! Keep hands, body, and other
people away from the seat latches when
lowering the seat. You or someone else
could be pinched by the seat. NOTICE:
Before lowering the seat, make sure there
are no items placed in the cargo bed. Oth-
erwise, damage to the items or seat may
occur.

4. Make sure the seat is securely latched.
WARNING! A loose seat could cause a
passenger to fall.
5. Unhook the backrest cable from the backrest
hook.
6. Lift up the backrest to the original position.
7. Make sure the backrest is securely latched.
WARNING! A loose backrest could fold
down and cause injury, or cause a pas-
senger to fall.
8. Place the rear seat belt buckles in their origi-
nal position.
